Many hearts were broken when such a loving and amazing young man was taken from us way too early. Roy Toope Jr of Pond Cove, NL, died on June 22nd, 2018 at the age of 41 years, during a tragic accident while working on the Trans Labrador Highway. Roy was born March 27th, 1977 in St. Anthony, NL, to parents Roy & Rhoda (Gibbons) Toope, and from that day on, he was a special boy to so many. Roy graduated St. Augustine Central High in 1995 with lots of memories and friendships. Roy always had a love for working in the woods and completed a Diploma in Forestry from the College of the North Atlantic. He had many different jobs but one of the most enjoyable jobs was working many years as a Harvester operator, where he made lots of close friends. Roy loved the outdoors - whether it was Salmon Fishing, Hunting, working in the woods or riding skidoo. A few years ago, Roy began his own little piece of paradise – a cabin – at Ten Mile Lake, which he loved and enjoyed for a short time.
