Bertha Jane Gaulton was born in Main Brook on May 20th, 1963 to Walter and Caroline Gaulton. She was one of ten children. Bertha Jane was fun loving and kind. She loved hanging out laundry and spent many hours doing so. She also loved music. Bertha Jane loved going for rides with her brother, Lester to the airport; she loved watching the planes landing and taking off as well as the caribou. Bertha Jane also enjoyed going to the garage for an ice cream that she wasn’t supposed to have and trying to hide it from her caregiver, Alice. She also loved her cat, Fluffy. She is survived by her brothers, Lester and John; Sisters, Holly and Vivian; nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Walter and Caroline; Brothers, Francis and Barry; as well as sisters, Rosemary, Mary, and Penny. Visitation was held from St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Main Brook from where the funeral was held on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 2:00 pm with Deacon Short officiating. Interment followed. RICHARDS, TERRY BRIAN
Passed away September 18th, 2017 in Cambridge Ontario at the age of 46 years. Brian was born to Freeman and Florence on March 7, 1971. He graduated high school in 1989. On September 18, 1995 Brian and his brother Herman moved to Ontario in search of work. He later returned to NL where he attended college in Stephenville. Shortly after college he returned to Ontario. Brian loved being around his friends and adored his family. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his parents Freeman and Florence; Sister Roxanne (Kelsey); Brothers Ivan (Sandy), Jason (Joyce) and Herman (Teraceta); Nephews Marcus, Gregory, Riley, Donovan and Rodney; Nieces Madison and Emma; Aunts and Uncles Willis (shirley) Whyatt, Neine (Richard) Mitchelmore, Nina Hill, Ben Denney, Hedley (Faye) Richards, Harrison (Judy) Richards, Hubert (Barbara) Richards, Lester (Viona) Richards, Alma (Wayne) Burden, David (Jackie) Richards, Penny Kinsella, Ben (Neta) Richards, Patsy (David) Mugford, Leona (Richard) Richards, Scott (Debbie) Richards & Pam (Brad) Whitten. Brian was predeceased by Grandfathers Benjamin Richards and John Richards, Aunt Evelyn Denny, Uncle Albert Hill, and relatives Glenn Richards, Jean Patey, Dana Richards and Tyrone Burden. Visitation began at Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home in St. Anthony and then continued at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in St. Carol’s from where the funeral was held on Sunday, September 24th, 2017 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Katie Flynn officiating. Interment followed in St. Paul’ Anglican Cemetery in St. Carols. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. STRANGEMORE, JEREMIAH
Jeremiah Strangemore was born in Ireland Bight on December 31, 1927 to Esau and Dorcas Strangemore. He was one of eight children. He and his brothers fished with their father in the summer and moved to Lolly’s Brook in the winter to work in the Lumber Camp. In 1950 the family moved to Main Brook where they fished and also worked with Bowaters. In 1962 he married Ethel Heddison and together they raised two children, Alice and Randy. He was grandfather to Roddy and Christa and great-grandfather to Hannah and Jake. He is survived by his wife Ethel of nearly 54 years; children Alice (Dennis) and Randy (Barb), grandchild Christa, great-grandchildren Hannah and Jake, sister Mary Jane Burt, brothers Jobe (Elizabeth), Norman (Myra) and Clifford (Dora), sisters-in-law Flo (Paul) and Vera. He is predeceased by parents Esau and Dorcas, grandson Roddy Pilgrim, sisters Blanche, Lucinda, brother Ralph and brothers-in-law Bill Burt and Robert Moores. Visitation was held at the St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Main Brook from where the funeral service was held on Sunday February 14, 2016 with Rev. Harold Harvey officiating.
