EARLE, ELIZABETH MARY

Elizabeth was born on August 12, 1945 to Bessie and William Hillier in St. Lunaire-Griquet. She married Ronald Earle in 1968 and as a result of their union, they were blessed with eight beautiful children (5 sons and 3 daughters) as well as 15 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren). Elizabeth was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her life revolved around her family and friends; she enjoyed connecting with the through her many phone calls. Besides her time with family, she enjoyed playing cards, picking berries, nurturing her flowers, reading, baking bread, knitting, and interacting with church activities. Elizabeth was a hard worker, she worked in the fish plant most of her life where she made many long-lasting friendships. Elizabeth will be remembered for her big, kind heart and warm smile by all who knew her. On March 16, 2021 she passed away at her home in St. Lunaire-Griquet at age 75. She leaves to mourn her Children, Morgan (Christina), Rodger (Eva), Ricky (Jessica), Barry (Daina), Keith (Deanne), Cathy (Darryl), Angela (Reza) as well as her 15 Grandchildren, 11 Greatgrandchildren; Sister, Rita Fillier (Wilson), as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. She is predeceased by her Husband, Ronald Earle; Parents, Bessie and William Hillier; Daughter, Cynthia Earle Pilgrim; Sisters, Minnie and Annie.

HUMBY, MARY LAVENIA

October 19, 1935 - November 7, 2018

On November 7th, 2018, Lavenia Humby (Levie) passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she loved and served. She was committed to her faith, loved God and his word, and attended church regularly. Levie was born in Griquet Newfoundland, where she married Henry Humby and raised her family. Levy is remembered as a soft-spoken, kind-hearted person. She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Levie leaves to mourn her sons Raymond (Bessie), Robert (Gina), Michael (Sheila), Daughters Blanche and Pearl, as well as 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and close friends. Levie was predeceased by her parents John and Rhoda Pilgrim, husband Henry George Humby, son Lawrence Humby, grandson Jim Hillier, brothers George, Chesley, Gordon and Allen as well as sisters Pearl, Rita, Ruby, Olive and Lucy. The homegoing service was held at 2 p.m. on November 11th, 2018 from the Calvary Tabernacle in Griquet Newfoundland with Pastor Bill Harnum officiating. Burial took place in the Church cemetery following the service. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton. Lee Nippard, funeral director.

EARLE, ROXANNA JOAN

passed away on October 31st, 2017 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St Anthony at the age of 58 years. Roxanna (affectionately known as “Roxy”) was born on June 7th, 1959 to Fred and Shirley Clements. She was born and raised in Roddickton, NL. Roxy came to St. Anthony to babysit and there met her soulmate, Roy Earle. Roxy and Roy married in 1981 and had two children, Ryan and Rhea. She also had one grandchild, Rebecca, whom she thought the world of. Roxy worked at several places during her life: the Light keeper’s Café, Tim Horton, and Flavour Crisp Chicken Coop. Roxy was a very outgoing person who enjoyed life to the fullest. She will be missed; but those who mourn her passing are left with cherished memories. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Roy; Children Ryan (Nick), Rhea (Damien); Granddaughter Rebecca; Mother Shirley; Brothers Corwin (Paula), Everett (Tina); Mother-in-law Velma; Sisters-in-law Eileen (Wade), Tina; Brothers-in-law Morris (Patsy), Roger (Doreen) as well as her nieces, nephews, and large circle of close friends. She was predeceased by her Father Fred Clements; Father-in-law Douglass Earle, and Brother-in-law Ray Earle. Visitation was held from the Pentecostal Tabernacle in St. Lunaire- Griquet from where the funeral service was held on Saturday, November 4th, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Pastor John Baker officiating. HUMBY, JOHN EDWARD

In Loving memory of John Edward Humby, born February 24, 1929. Passed away on April 20, 2017 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 88 years. He leaves to mourn his wife Viola of 67 years marriage. Sons Wallace; Mervin (Suzanne); Sandy; Dale (Laurie); Ren (Debbie); Daughters Gladys (Lloyd) Mildred (Kevin) and Evelyn. 14 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents William and Dinah Humby; Brother Jim; Sisters Livie, Emma, Pearl and Annie. Visitation at the Calvary Pentecostal Church in St. Lunaire-Griquet from where the funeral was held on Sunday at 2:00 pm with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. HILLIER, CASSIE VINE

Passed away October 6, 2016 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital at the age of 78 years. She Leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her Husband of 62 years, Allan Hillier; Children Bob, Lawrence (Audrey), Glen (Shelly), Gary, Yvonne (George), Joann (Gene), Jennifer (Dean); Daughter-in-law Lesley; her Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren; 1 brother, 8 sisters as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her parents Fred and Gladys Burden, Son Scott, and Sister Florence. Visitation was held at the Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in St. Lunaire-Griquet from where the funeral service was held on Sunday, October 9. 2016 at 2:00pm with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. BARTLETT, BRIDGET (KEARNEY)

Passed peacefully away at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on September 30th, 2016. Bride was born in Croque; the youngest child of Francis and Catherine Kearney. In September 1951 she married Leo Bartlett of Fortune Arm and together they had twelve children, nineteen grandchildren and fourteen great-great grandchildren. Bride spent most of her life as a devoted wife and mother. In 1972 the relocated to Griquet. Over the years Bride was a second mom to her children’s friends where her door was always open. She was employed at Fisher’s Products and Work until she retired. In 1991 she joined the St. Lunaire-Griquet Firettes and continued to support until 2015. Following her retirement she was instrumental in the opening of St. Monica’s Catholic Church and Cemetery in St. Lunaire-Griquet. In 2013 Bride moved into Shirley’s Haven in St. Anthony where she continued to be an active member of her new community. She was predeceased by her Husband Leo; Children Catherine, Ray, Kate, and Ben. Visitation was held at St. Monica’s Catholic Church in St. Lunaire-Griquet from where the funeral service was held on October 4. 2016 with Father Vitus Echedo Chidi officiating. Interment followed. BUSSEY, RICKY JAMES

Ricky James was born in St. Lunaire to Gordon and Marjorie Bussey on January 25th, 1949. After the passing of his father, Ricky and his brother Wilson, carried on in the family fishery. After the closure of the fishery in 1992 he worked with Burden's Trucking offloading fishing boats.
He was a hard worker, and a fun loving person. He loved gardening, berry picking, hunting and fishing, and playing games. He is survived by 1 brother, Wallace; 3 sisters, Helen, Selma (Wilfred), Irene (Velmer) and a large number of nephews and nieces that he was very fond of. He was also surrounded by a large circle of friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The funeral took place at the Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in St. Lunaire-Griquet on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. Interment followed in the St. Lunaire-Griquet Pentecostal Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to K.M. Fillatre's Funeral Home, St Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

HEDDERSON, JOHN WELDON

John Weldon Hedderson was born on June 24th, 1928 to Albert and Matilda Hedderson. On February 3rd, 1963, he married the love of his life, Susie Hedderson. Together they were blessed with five children. John was a fisherman all his life and an active member of the fisherman's Union. He also ran the post office in Straitsview. John was a community oriented man who actively volunteered. He did not mind speaking with government officials and worked hard to ensure that the community received adequate funding. He was a fighter who would "go all the way" for what he believed in. He leaves to mourn a large and loving family including his wife Susie; sons Terry (Natalie), and Dwight (Mary); daughters Ella (Wayne), and Elaine; sister Nellie (Walter); grandchildren Terry (Stephanie), Dillon (Elizabeth), Matthew (Robyn), Bryan, Jenna, Noah, and Arren; and great-grandchild Allison. John was predeceased by his parents Albert and Matilda; son Bryan; brothers Issac, Marckus, Samuel, Jim, Noah, Edgar, Heber, and Lenoard; and sister Marjorie. He will be forever loved and remembered fondly. Visitation was held at the Pentecostal Church in St. Lunaire-Griquet from where the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on Friday, November 13, 2015 with Pastor Baker officiating. Internment followed in the Interfaith Cemetery in Quirpon. Funeral services entrusten to Kerry. M. Fillatre's Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Lee Nippard funeral director.

HEDDERSON, MADELINE EMMA PEARL

Passed peacefully away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on August 30, 2015, Madeline Hedderson in her 68th year. She leaves to mourn daughter Diane (Eric); sons Jeffrey (Marlene), Jim (Pauline), Gordon (Cathy), and Jonathan (Jessica); special grandson Steven (Tamara); special friend Virginia; 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren; brothers Caleb (Margret), and Philip; sisters Louise (Jim), Rita (Ray), and Margret. She was predeceased by her husband Hector Hedderson, son William Hedderson, parents William and Sarah Bridger, Brother John Bridger, sisters Gloria Fillier, Annie Larkin and Elizabeth Mugford. Visitation took place at Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home in St. Anthony after which the funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2 with Father Paul Findlay officiating. Burial followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Griquet. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

HILLIER, ROLAND

Passed away at The Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony NL, Mr. Roland Hillier of St. Anthony in his 76th year. Roland leaves to mourn; his wife Annie, Children Morey, Gloria (Clement), Winnie, Vivian (Victor), Fred (Reeta), Tony (Margaret), and Robbie (Karen), 9 Brothers and Sisters and a large circle of grandchildren and great grandchildren, and his special Furry friend Cheeko. Roland was predeceased by his father Hedley Hillier, Mother Pearl Hillier and Brother Kaye Hillier. Visitation was held at the Bethel Pentecostal Church in St. Anthony beginning Monday November 3rd and continuing through to the funeral service, which took place at 2:00pm on Thursday November 6th 2014 with Pastor Jeff Bessey Officiating. Burial Followed the Service at the Pentecostal Cemetery in St. Lunaire-Griquet. Funeral arrangement where entrusted to Kerry M.
