RICHARDS, MAE

August 13, 1949 – August 5, 2024

Mae was born on August 13th, 1949, to Thomas & Delphine Mugford in St. Anthony. She married the love of her life, Clifford, at the age of 19, on September 5th, 1968. They lived a wonderful life raising four children in St. Carol’s.

She enjoyed many careers over her lifetime including hospital support/CNIB, a live-in nanny, fish plant worker, and finally a personal care worker in a variety of settings.

Mae had many hobbies, a few of her favourites were: sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She also looked forward to outings with family and friends. Most of all, her greatest passion was being at home, where she passed peacefully on August 5th, 2024, at the age of 74 with family by her side.

She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories: Mother, Delphine Richards; Children; Kevin (Daphne), Claudine (Kirby), Morgan, Jaret (Stephanie); Brothers; David (Patsy), Harrison (Gail), Paul (Tabitha), Charles (Cecilia); Sisters; Patsy (Zoel), Barbara (Maxwell), Regina (Reginald), Sharon (Leroy), Theresa (Earl), Gladys (David), Annmarie (Jason); Grandchildren; Miranda (Raymond), Valerie, Victoria (Jordan), Caiden, Cian, Henry, Ryker; Great-grandchildren; Delaney. As well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford; Father, Thomas Mugford; Stepfather, Allen Richards; Brother, Phillip Mugford; Sisters, Joan and Ellen; Granddaughter, Jessica Richards; mother & father-in-law, Henry & Jessie Richards; Daughter in law, Gail Richards; a dear friend, Caleb Elliott.

Private visitation will be held at Kerry M. Fillatre on Monday, August 12th, 2024, at 6-9pm.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 13th, 2024, at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in St. Carol’s, at 2:00 pm with Rev. Nath Larkin officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Carol’s cemetery.

RICHARDS, ADELAIDE MARY ANN

June 27, 1935 - November 3, 2023

Passed away peacefully at the Charles S Curtis Memorial Hospital surrounded by loving family on November 3, 2023 at the age of 88.

She leaves to mourn, her children: Donald (Neta), Freeman (Florence), Patsy (David), Leona (Richard), Scott (Debbie), and Pam (Brad); Brothers: Fred (Louise), Edward; as well as many Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren and a large circle of other extended family and friends.

Adelaide is predeceased by her Husband: Benjamin Richards; Daughter: Jean Patey; Sister: Rhoda; Grandsons: Dana and Brian; Sister-in-law: Margaret; and Brother-in-law: Malcolm.

Visitation took place from Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home and St. Mary’s Anglican Church in St. Anthony. The funeral was held from St. Mary’s Anglican Church on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at 2:00pm with Rev. Arthur Kinsella officiating. Interment followed.

KINSELLA, SAMUEL CYRIL

November 10, 1937 – November 6, 2020

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Samuel Kinsella announce his passing at the John M. Gray Center in St. Anthony, NL at the age of 82 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, May Kinsella (Nee Cull), Wife of 60 years; Daughter, Stephanie; Son, Samuel (Dawn); Daughter Brenda; Daughter, Kim (Michael); Daughter Roxanne (Scott); Grandchildren, Aimee Kinsella, Hayley Kinsella, Noah Coish, Allie Gardner; Brother, Harold (Edna); Sister, Shirley (Rod); Sister Phyllis (Gary); Brother, George (Juanita), as well as a large circle of Nieces and Nephews. He is predeceased by his father, George Kinsella (2004) and Mother, Roseanna Kinsella (nee Richards) (2009). Sam was a wonderful husband, father, and businessman. He and his Wife raised 5 children and ran 2 successful businesses for more than 30 years. He was a dedicated member of the Lions Club and enjoyed playing musical instruments including the organ and accordion. He was a self-made, successful businessman that was always there to help anyone in need. Due to Covid 19 restrictions the funeral will be by invitation only at the St. Mary’s Anglican Church in St. Anthony on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 officiated by Reverend Deacon Art Kinsella.

ROSE, HENRY THOMAS

July 4, 1953 – December 9, 2019

Passed away December 9, 2019 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony surrounded by loving family at the age of 66 years. Henry grew up in St. Carols where he went to school and played until he moved to St. Anthony as a teen. It was there, fishing with his father that he met the love of his life, Verna in Harbour Deep. In 1973 they were wed and blessed with two children. Shortly after the birth of his second child, he began working at the St. Anthony Airport where he stayed for 40 plus years. Through his work at the airport, he came to know and help many people across the province and abroad. He made a lot of friends, and was a friendly and familiar face to those travelling. In his spare time, he loved fishing, hunting, and loved being in his shed, woodworking. He was a talented handyman and carpenter, he frequently did renovations for his children and made lots of patio furniture and other items. His other passion was his grandchildren. He loved to see them flourish in their talents, whether it be playing guitar and singing, or playing hockey. Henry was a talkative and friendly man, he like to torment and was guaranteed to go visit his two children, Corey and Treena every night as well as send both a daily text message. He is forever loved and mourned by, his wife of 46 years, Verna; Son, Corey (Charmaine); Daughter, Treena (Trent); Mother, Margaret; Brother, Wallace (Edith); 3 Grandchildren, Dilan, Alisha, and Caden; Nieces, Teena (Larr), Nikki (Denise); Nephew, Robin (Marcella) and a large circle of family and friends. Henry was predeceased by his father, Isaac; Grandparents, Ernest and Rita Hill, and Thomas and Elizabeth Rose as well as his Aunts and Uncles. Visitation to take place at Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home in St. Anthony on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral will take place from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in St. Anthony on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Deacon Arthur Kinsella officiating. RICHARDS, FREDERICK

Frederick Richards (Sr.) was born on July 4th, 1917 in St. Carol’s to Abraham and Maryann (Colbourne). He was one of six children. On February 24th, 1942 he married Keziah Saunders and together they raised five children and one grandchild. He spent most of his life fishing in and around St. Carol’s. He loved tending to his garden, picking berries and other outdoor activities but his greatest love was his family. Frederick leaves to mourn sons: Roy (Christine), Gordon (Margaret); daughters: Shirley (Willis), Faye (Hedley), Judy (Harrison); 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; one sister in law Elizabeth Dorcas; many other friends and family. He was pre-deceased by Wife Keziah; parents Abraham and Maryann; Twin brother James; brother Harry (Jessie); sisters Grace (Lewis), Martha (Thomas) and Emma (Walter).  Visitation was held at St. Paul's Anglican Church in St. Carols, from which the funeral service  took place at 2:00pm on Saturday, June 21st, with Rev. Mark Wilkoff officiating. burial followed the service in the community cemetery. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M.
