RICHARDS, ELIZABETH SARAH

April 6, 1923 – September 29, 2019
Elizabeth Sarah Richards was an only child born to Charles Whyatt and Florence Rose of St. Carols. She spent her whole life as a stay at home mother in St. Carol's, devoutly looking after her children and other family members. Forever loved and forever missed by family and friends. She leaves to mourn her Sons, Willis (Shirley), Headley (Faye), Harrison (Judy), Hubert (Barbara), Lester (Viona), David (Jackie); Daughters, Nellie (Richard), Florence (Freeman), and Alma (Wayne); 40 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren, and 10 great greatgrandchildren. She was predeceased by her Husband, John; Daughters, Nina and Evelyn; Son Glenn; Grandchildren Brian, Tyrone, Janice, Henry, and Christopher. Visitation was held from the Anglican Church in St. Carols from where the funeral was held on October 2, 2019 with Rev. Katie Taylor- Flynn officiating. Interment followed. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

HEDDERSON, MADELINE EMMA PEARL

Passed peacefully away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on August 30, 2015, Madeline Hedderson in her 68th year. She leaves to mourn daughter Diane (Eric); sons Jeffrey (Marlene), Jim (Pauline), Gordon (Cathy), and Jonathan (Jessica); special grandson Steven (Tamara); special friend Virginia; 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren; brothers Caleb (Margret), and Philip; sisters Louise (Jim), Rita (Ray), and Margret. She was predeceased by her husband Hector Hedderson, son William Hedderson, parents William and Sarah Bridger, Brother John Bridger, sisters Gloria Fillier, Annie Larkin and Elizabeth Mugford. Visitation took place at Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home in St. Anthony after which the funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2 with Father Paul Findlay officiating. Burial followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Griquet. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.

COLBOURNE, SHERLOCK SPURGEON

The second of six children born to Mary and Hayward Colbourne, Sherlock was born on May 16, 1949.  He wore many hats in his lifetime, working at the lighthouse at Belle Island, attending university to qualify as a teacher and later in life he ran a small computer company.  Sherlock was a man of varied interests, he enjoyed reading, loved the outdoors, liked to travel and was very close to his family.  Sherlock was an avid historian, particularly family history and was very well informed about his family.  While he did not have children of his own, he spent many hours entertaining his many nieces and nephews. Sherlock Passed away suddenly at his home in St. Anthony on the 9th of June 2014.   Sherlock leaves to mourn his sisters, Lavinia Byrne, Pearl Colbourne, Joan (Donald) Powell, Ann (William) Barry, and Trudy (Gary) Baikie as well as his half-brother Heber (Loretta) Hussey.  He also leaves to mourn 9 nieces, 5 nephews, 9 great nephews, 4 great nieces, special friends at Harbour View Apartments and a large circle of other family and friends. Sherlock was predeceased by his parents Hayward and Mary Colbourne. He will be fondly remembered by them all.  Rest in peace dear brother, uncle and friend. Visitation was held at the Funeral home in St. Anthony, after which the funeral service was held at the St. Anthony United Church at 11:00am on Monday June 16th 2014 with Rev. John McGonigle Officiating. Burial followed the service in the Fishing Point United Cemetery. Funeral Arangments where entrusted to Kerry M.
