TUCKER, SILBY JAMES
Passed away August 13, 2019, at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital, St. Anthony, Newfoundland. Silby James TUCKER in his 92rd year. Grand Children, Great Grand Children and Great-Great Grand Children. Silby was born and raised in Ship Cove, Newfoundland, where at the age of 12 he joined his dad in the fishing boat, life was not easy in those years, but thru hard work and determination, he provided and saw the family thru the hard times. It was in the early ‘60s that the scourge of TB visited our family and resulted in Sibly being hospitalized for 6 months, followed by 2 years of treatment and recovery. It was not long after, that he was back fishing, hunting, doing the things he loved. Following the decline of the fishery, he found work elsewhere, in the labour fields, wherever he could. As a hunter, and provider, there was none better, we seemed to be never in want of something on the table for Sunday dinners.
