September 3, 1935—April 10, 2024

Passed peacefully away at he Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital St. Anthony surrounded by family at he age of 88 years old from Harbour Deep NL and moved to Roddickton N.L. in 1991.

Predeceased by his parents Lot and Julie Ropson Brothers Frank (Emily) Ropson, Chesley (Pearl) Ropson. Sisters Blanche Ropson/Pittman (Edward/Ned) Winnifred (Stanley) Randell, Alima Ropson/Randell (Peter) Mildred Ropson.

Leaving to morn with broken hearts his long life partner of 35 years Shirley Compton, Daughters Crystal (Kevin)
Wilcox and Rebecca (Nathen) Malleck, Grandchildren Zachary, Joshua, Sarah, Rachel, Jake, Logan and a large circle of nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Visitation to take place from the Calvary Pentecostal Church in Roddickton, NL beginning the afternoon of Monday, April 15, 2024. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Canon Vernon Short officiating. Interment to follow in the Roddickton United Cemetery.

ROPSON, LEBERT

August 14, 1941 - June 14, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lebert Ropson on June 14, 2019 at the age of 77. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. Lebert grew up in his beloved hometown of Great Harbour Deep, White Bay, attended Fishers Trade College in St. John’s and then settled in St. Anthony. He worked as a carpenter with Grenfell Regional Health Services until his retirement in 2005. Leaving to mourn their loss, while treasuring their memories; devoted wife, Golda; daughters: Tracy Osmond (Byron) and Kristen Pilgrim (Darin); step-daughters: Kim Fillier and Hayley Fillier-Klepp (Daniel); grandchildren: Julianne, Erica and Kate; siblings: Edna, Eugene, Evelyn, Tryphenia, Patricia; Father-in-law: Kenneth Fillier as well as large circle of family and friends, and special friend, Wilfred Rumbolt. Lebert is predeceased by his parents, William and Lucy Ropson; niece, Kerry-Lynn Johnson and Mother-in-law Melina Fillier. Visitation to be held from Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home in St. Anthony on Saturday, June 15th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and on Sunday, June 16th from 3-4 pm and 7-8 pm. The family service will be tentatively held Sunday Evening at 8:30 pm. The funeral will be held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church in St. Anthony on Monday, June 17, 2019 at 11 am with Deacon Arthur Kinsella officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lebert’s memory to St. Mary’s Anglican Church in St. Anthony or the Alzheimer’s Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.

ROPSON, PEARL ANITA

Passed away May 4th, 2018 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital at the age of 84 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her Daughters Wanda and Melina; Sons, Wayne (Geraldine), Rick (Gaye), Austin (Ginette), Lot (Christine), David (Joanne); Sisters and Brothers, Hazel, Pearce, and Clarence (Amelia); Grandchildren, Bobby Trudy, Travis, Candida, Hiram, Mary Louise, Madelyn, Jordan, Jack, Emily, and Leanna as well as a large circle of family and friends. Visitation was held from Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home in St. Anthony on Saturday, May 5th and Sunday, May 6th. The funeral was held from St. Mary's Anglican Church in St. Anthony on Monday, May 7th, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Katie Flynn officiating. Interment followed. Passed peacefully away at the White Bay Central Health Center on the 20th day of August 2015, Mr. Harvey Ropson of Roddickton was in his 86th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Alma, children Francis(Bonnie) Ropson, Jerry Ropson(Cindy Elgar), The Late Derrick Ropson, Leighton Ropson(Theresa Feltham), Carl Ropson (Tracy Newman), Florence Ropson (Tracy Newman), Florence Ropson-Ricketts (Stuart Ricketts), Judy Ropson - Pittman (Keith Pittman), their Fifteen Grandchildren Sheldon Ricketts, Ryan Ricketts, Victoria Pittman, Bernie Ropson, Lindsay Elgar, Melissa Ropson, Sarah Ropson, Taralee Ropson, Cory Ricketts, Valerie Pittman, Justin Pittman, Alison Ropson, Hillary Elgar, Jessica Ropson, Fifteen Great Grandchildren, Nathan, Blake, Cody, Hailey, Kaleb, Aden, Jack, Scarlett, Amy, Jaden, Tamara, Jake, Amber, Jonah, Amelia, as well as a large circle of family and friends. Visitation was held at the funeral home in Roddickton after which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm from the Wesley United Church in Roddickton on Sunday August 23, 2015 with Rev. Harold Harvey officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M.
