APPLIN, WILLIAM

It is with great sadness that the family of William Applin announces his sudden passing on Tuesday, March 1st, 2016 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony.  William of Eddies Cove East was in his 75th year.   He was a kind, funny man and enjoyed spending time with loved ones, playing cards and regaling tales from the past.  William was a hard working man and thoroughly enjoyed his career as a fisherman.  Some of his happiest times were those fishing with his brother and nephew.  William was an honorable man, a loyal brother, a revered uncle, a reliable friend, a cherished father and a devoted, loving husband.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.  Left to mourn with loving memories, his wife Dulcie; his girl Marvella; his son in law Ted Wells; his sisters, Irene (Lawrence) Taylor; Sybil Taylor (Scott Samson); Naomi (Hubert) Hughes; Donna (Calvin) Hughes; Edna Taylor (Michael Gibbons); Sisters in law, Rachel Applin; Hazel (Walter) Williams; Marjorie (Nicholas) Hughes, Beulah (Bruce) Coates; Laura Parrill; Rachel Parrill; Brothers in Law, John Parrill; Will Evans; Stewart (Juanita) Parrill, Wilson (Violet) Parrill, Wallace (Thamsie) Parrill; Special Nephew Derek (Susan) Applin, and his furry companion, Paddy, as well as large circle of other family and friends.  He was predeceased by his parents, William and Eliza Applin, Brothers Richard Henry; Hansel; Walter and Edmund, Sisters, Mary Elizabeth Parrill; Kizzie Evans, Brothers in law Roland Taylor; Walt Taylor; Cecil Parrill; Gordon Parrill; John (Rosie) Parrill, and Sisters in law Olga and Evelyn Parrill.  Visitation took place at St. Andrew’s Church in Lower Cove from where the funeral was held on Saturday, March 5th at 2pm with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating.  Interment followed in the Eddies Cove Cemetery. Funeral Arangments Were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director. 

 

HUGHES, BELINDA

Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Center on the 18th day of August 2015, Mrs. Belinda Hughes of Green Island Cove was in her 80th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons Barry(Millie) Hughes, Kirby(Nita) Hughes, Daughter Kathleen(Brian) Coates, her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, Brothers Everton(Evelyn) McLean, Baxter (Mona) McLean, Sister Pearl (Stewart) Mitchelmore as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by Husband George Henry Hughes, Son Robert George Hughes, Parents Leonard and Beatrice McLean, and Sister Virtue McLean. Visitation was held at the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Lower Cove from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on Friday August 21, 2015 with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating. Burial followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Green Island Brook. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger Funeral Director.

WHITE, NOAH MAXWELL

Passed away on July 31, 2015, Noah White, in his 63rd year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Gladys; son Michael (Ashley); Grandchildren Breah, Kylen; mother Dulcie; brothers Curling (Wanda), Jim (Marlene); sisters Olga (Wayne), Marion Ann (Lyman); nephews Dwayne, Ramsey, Ricky, Andrew, Andy; uncle Jimmy (Belinda); aunts Ann and Velma as well as a circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his father Curling and brother Ramsey. Visitation took place at St. Thomas Anglican Church in Sandy Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday August 4, 2015 with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

MCLEAN, SADIE BELLE

passed away into peace at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial hospital in St. Anthony NL, on the 27th of April 2015, Mrs. Sadie Belle McLean of Green Island Brook in her 95th year. Sadie will be lovingly remembered by her children Wilfred, Eldred (Dydia), Selby (Cicely), Maitland (Dorothy), Lillian (John), Mona, Sarah Fanny (Pammy), Rowena (Terry), Percy, Barry (Jackie), Rhoda (Kenny), Bruce (Sylvia), Daughter in law Kay, 27 Grandchildren, 39 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren. Sadie was predeceased by her parents Eli William and Sarah, Her Husband Percy, Son Sidney, Daughters in law Kitty and Judy and Son-in law Isaac. Visitation was held at the St. Andrews Anglican Church in Lower Cove, from which the funeral service was conducted on the 30th of April, 2015 at 2:00pm with Rev. Marlene Harvey and Lay Person Penney McLean officiating. Burial followed the service in the Green Island Cove Anglican Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements where entrusted to Kerry M. MITCHELMORE, DORCAS

Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 26th day of February 2015. Mrs. Dorcas Mitchelmore of Green Island Cove was in her 72nd year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 52years Winston, her children Winston, Marlene(Eric), Faye(Gerald), Julie(Harvey), Milton(Susan), Josie(Dwight), Grandchildren Jordan, Susie, Brandi, Robby, Jada, Danny, Chuck, Brady, Michelle, Monique, Great- Grandchildren Chloe, Isaac, Peyton, Spencer, Bella, Layla, Sister Lydia(Eldred), Brothers George W. (Marina) and Whyman as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Reginald and Johanna, Sister Julie and Sister-in-Law Minnie. Visitation was held at the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Lower Cove from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on the 1st day of March 2015 with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Green Island Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

GIBBONS, CAROLINE SR.

Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on the 10th of January 2015 Mrs. Caroline Gibbons Sr.  of Pond cove in her 90th year. Caroline was born in pond cove, NL on November 14th, 1924 to Walter and Amelia Coombs of Current Island, NL. She Married Guy Gibbons  on May !5th of 1946. together they had 4 Children. Caroline was a loving, Caring and Kind hearted Woman who loved her family dearly. She loved to knit, Cook and Feed everyone who visited her home. Always room for more in her home she loved all her grandchildren and great grandchildren with all her hear and treated them like gold.  Left to mourn are her sons Walter (Caroline), and John (Nancy Ann), Daughter Ruby Sr. (Philemon), Grand children Amelia (Scott), Virginia (Paul), Ruby (Darrol), Guy (Kylie), Great grandchildren Hope, Belle, Jacey as well as a large Circle of other Family and Friends. She was predeceased by her husband guy, Daughter Virginia, Great grandson PG, Mother Amelia, and Father Walter. Visitation was held at The St. Mary's Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove. from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on The 14th of January, 2015 with Rev. Marlene Harvey Officiating. Burial will take place at the Anglican Cemetery on Current Island. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral Home, Lee Nippard Funeral Director. 

CUNARD, PHYLLIS

Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 7th day of December 2014. Mrs. Phyllis Cunard of Brig Bay was in her 58th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Eli, Son Jason(Tina), Daughter Jessica, Grandchild Austyn, her parents Stanley and Amy Coates, Brothers Kevin(Dorothy), Dennis(Lilly), Jun(Emma), sisters Bernette and Valerie(Leon),  Brothers-in-law, Sisters-in-law, Nieces, Nephews, as well as a large circle of  family and friends. She was predeceased by her Parents-n-Law, Brothers-in-Law and Sisters-in-Law. Visitation was held at the St. Andrew’s Anglican church in Lower Cove from which the funeral service was held on Thursday December 11th, 2014 at 11:00am with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Eddies Cove East.
