It is with great sadness that the family of the late Myrtle Parr announce her peaceful passing at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on May 17, 2021 at the age of 84 years. Myrtle was a very loyal wife to her husband of 52 years. She was a hardworking woman who dearly loved her family and done all she could to provide for them. Although she was a quiet and soft-spoken woman, she loved for her family to come home and friends to drop in. One of her favourite things was to bake and cook for everyone. She was a faithful member of her church and truly enjoyed WM Ministries. She loved to serve her God throughout her whole life. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and a large circle of friends. The family would like to extend thanks to the nurses of the Port Hope Simpson Clinic as well as the staff at Curtis Memorial Hospital. They would also like to thank Pastor Craig, Pastor Sheila, and everyone for their prayers, love, and support. Myrtle will be sadly missed by her Sons, Hayward (Mildred), Donald (Roseann), Edward (Daphne), Kevin (Wavey), Stephen (Sherry); Daughters, Zonya (Graham), Marilyn (Lemuel), Jeanette (Barry), Irene (Peter), as well as 12 Grandchildren, 14 Grandchildren and a circle of extended family and friends. She is predeceased by her Husband of 52 years, Robert Parr, her parents, Maryann and George Rumbolt as well as large number of brothers and sisters. Funeral Service to take place from Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in Port Hope Simpson on May 21, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Craig Giles officiating. Interment to follow. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home. St. Anthony and Roddickton.

COOMBS, MYRTLE

Born on Current Island on the 16th day of September 1937 she eventually moved to Plum Point where she raised her family. Later in life she moved to the Dove Complex in Norris Point. On the 14th day of September Myrtle passed peacefully away at the Bon Bay Health Center. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memoires her Son Rodney(Rachel), Daughters Evelyn(Doug) and Minnie(Marcel), Granddaughter Shelley, Grandsons Ryan, Joe and Bradly, Brothers William and George(Mamie), Sisters Caroline, Ruby, and Virginia(Calvin), Brothers-in-law Jim, Joe and Gerald, Sisters-in-law Lillian, Velma, and Masie, Special Friends Harvey Mudge, Patsy, Gerald and Roland, Elaine, Mary, Teressa, Lizzy Walter, Richard and Doris as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her Father Walter, Mother Amelia, Brothers Jacob and John, Sister Matilda. The visitation was held at the Church of Advent in Plum Point from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on the 17th day of September 2014 with rev. Harold Harvey officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Pond Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral Homes Ltd., St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger funeral director.

Passed away into peace on the 30th of March, 2013 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital Mrs Pear Myrtle Curlew (Burden) of St. Lunaire- Griquet in her 65th year. Pearl leaves behind with loving memories her Sons Tim (Effie), Monty (Marie), Roderick (Mary-Ann), Morris (Peggy-Ann), Scott (Wavey) & Boyd (Sherry). Daughters Sheila (Watson) & Michelle (Tim), Grandchildren April (Jason), Candace, Dina, Sacha, Sherman (Ada), Dwayne (Vanessa), Deirdre, Donalda (Gary), Jeremy, Jonathan, Jenny (Mark), Damian, Kyle, Tiffany,   Felicia, Carrie (Jamie), Robert, Skylar, Brittany, Jordan & Kelsey. Great -Grandchildren Noah, Nate, Leah, Kimberly, Brooklyn, Aiden, Cailin, Jonas & Piper. Sisters Jesse (William Adams), Carrie (Harold Yetman), Marge (Leslie Hall), & Ruby (Baxter Hedderson). Brothers Fred (Ethel), Herman (Rebecca), Shawn (Kim), Bradley (Kathy) & Sister in Law Sarah  Pearl was Predeceased by her husband Wilfred, parents Herman & Maude  and her brother William. She will be sadly missed by a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation was held at the Pentecostal Calvary Tabernacle in St. Lunaire-Griquet, from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on the 2nd of April with Pastors Wayne Baker and Jon Collins officiating, burial followed in the church Cemetery.
