Abe Moores was born on January 27th, 1950 in Flowers Cove to Eli and Laurola Moores. At a young age he moved to Port Aux Choix, after the death of his mother, they moved back to Flowers Cove. At the age of 20 he met the love of his life, Virtue, They later married in the year 1973. They had two daughters, Angela and Nadine. Abe had 3 other children from previous relationships; Leon, Lisa, and Lawrence. Abe was a linesman by trade but his passion was being a fisherman.

He Leaves to mourn with fond memories, his Wife, Virtue; Children, Nadine (Jeff), Angela, Lawrence (Olga), Leon (Cindy), Lisa; Grandchildren, Nikita, Nathan, Tisa, Brittany, Jenna, Taylor, Bradley; Great-grandchild, Ruby; Step-Mother, Margaret. He also leaves to mourn his Brothers, Edmund (Doreen), David (Amanda); Sisters-in-law, Maralies (Leonard), Millicent (Cliff), Helena (Iram).

The family would like to thank everyone for their calls, thoughts, prayers, visits, and assistance during this difficult time. Thank you as well to the staff at the Strait of Belle Isle Center, the staff at Curtis Memorial Hospital, KM Fillatre’s Funeral Home, as well as all who have provided help at this time. Visitation to take place from the United Church in Flowers Cove, from where the funeral will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Rev. John McGonigle officiating. MOORES, MARY THERESA JOHANNA

March 11, 1937 - January 13, 2019
The family of the late Theresa Moores regretfully announce her passing on January 13th, 2019 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 81 years. Theresa was born on March 11, 1937 in Flowers Cove to Joseph and Elsie Walsh. Theresa started working as a nurse’s aide at the hospital in Flowers Cove when she was just 15 years old. Two years later, at 17, she married the love of her life, Abraham Moores, on August 20, 1954. Together they have shared over 64 years of happiness. Theresa loved knitting, scrapbooking, journaling, crosswords, and playing games like patience and flinch. She will always be remembered for her warm demeanor and her hospitality as over the years she housed many people who passed through Flowers Cove, especially those who were working at the hospital. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memoires, her husband, Abraham; Son, Dudley (Phyllis); Granddaughters, Natasha (Chad), Dede (Ern); Greatgrandchildren, Colby, Tori, Jada, Jaxon; Brothers, Tommy, (Currie), Jody; Sisters, Anne (Richard), Margaret (Mac), Susie, Evelyn (Reg); Sister-in-law, Margaret, Marion, as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Theresa was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Elsie; parents-in-law Stephen and Selina Moores; Daughter, Baby Gladys; Brothers and Sisters in law, Linda, Eli, William, George, Rose, Sarah Fanny. Visitation was held from the United Church in Flowers from where the funeral was held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Rev. John McGonigle officiating. Interment followed. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

MOORES, MARTHA

Passed away July 13th, 2018 at Charles S, Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 87 years. She leaves to mourn with loving memories her Daughters Blanche Tywne (George), Thelma Butt (Hubert); Son Richmond; Grandchildren, Colinda, Lenny, Kimberly, Dana, Noreen, Gillian, Trina, Matthew, Gordon, and Carola; Great-grandchildren, Trevor, David, Stacey, Baillie, Dillon, Nikita, Rikkie, Rikita, and Christopher; Great-great-grandchildren, Thomas, Peyton; Brother, Roland Layden (Fannie); as well as a large circle of other family and friends. Martha is predeceased by her husband, Thomas Moores, and Son, Harry Moores. Visitation was held from the United Church in Red Bay from where the funeral was held on Tuesday, July 17th, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Alice Moores officiating. Interment followed in the United Cemetery in Red Bay.

MOORES, CLIFTON ROLAND

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Clifton Roland Moores announce his sudden passing at his home in anchor point on December 1st, 2014 at the age of 63 years, left to mourn are his wife Millicent of 42 years, children Trixie (Leroy), Trina(Dave), Tyson (Sabrina), Grandchildren Nakita, Megan, Keegan, Kaylan, Aleisha and Ava, Great grandchild Jaxson, Step mom Margaret Moores, his siblings Abe (Vert), Hiram (Helena), Edmund (Doreen), David (Amanda), Marlese, in laws Abe(Jane), Steward(Dorcas), Doug(Bertha), Beulah (Jake), Brone (Bill), Marvin (Louise), Troy (Connie), Una, Fiona, a large Circle of Neices and nephews, aunts and uncles, family and friends. Clifton was predeceased by his parents Eli and Larola Moores, his in laws Emanuel Sr. and Dora Genge, brother Leonard, Brothers in laws Montrose and Emanuel Genge JR. nephews EJ Moores and Leonard Jr.   The Visitation was held at the Anglican Church in Anchor Point, From which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on the 5th of December with Rev. Irving Letto and Rev. John McGongile  officiating. Burial Followed the Service at the Anchor Point Anglican Cemetery. Funeral Arangments were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

MOORES, MARY VICTORIA

Passed peacefully away surrounded by her family on July 26th Mrs. Mary Victoria Moore in her 79th year. Mary is survived by her children Matt(Sandra), Ethel(Brad), Alma, Bruce, Kay(Dennis), Arlene(Henry), Harris(Tish), Randy(Ruby) and Dennis(Tracey), 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother Alma, brother Wallace(Rhea), sisters Lettie. Gladys(Wayne) and Linda(Jim) as well as nieces, nephews and a host of other family members and friends.She was predeceased by her husband Jacob Wilson Moores, her father George W. Diamond, mother-in-law Rachel Rose, Brother-in-laws Marmaduke and Albert Edwin Moores. Visitation was held at the United Church in Flowers Cove, from which the funeral service was held at 11:00am on Tuesday July 29th. Burial followed in the Church Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements where entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger Funeral Director.
