COLES, MINNIE

June 8, 1947 - February 20, 2024

It’s with great sadness that the family of Minnie Coles announce her sudden passing at Charles Curtis Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

Minnie (Caines) Coles was born June 8, 1947 to Henry and Mary Elizabeth (Coates) Caines. She married the love of her life, Albert Jacob Coles on April 18th, 1968. Together they had two children, Melvin Coles (Lisa) and Kimberley White (Andy).

Teaching was her passion, and she retired with a full career at the young age of 45. She was very loving and devoted to her family and friends.

Minnie leaves to mourn her children: Melvin (Lisa), Kimberley (Andy). Grandchildren: Alex (Jasmine), Andrea (Ty), and Reese. Great Grandchildren: Beau and Vaughn. Brother and sister in-laws, countless nieces and nephews, as well as a large circle of family and friends.

She is predeceased by her husband Albert Jacob Coles, Parents: Mary Elizabeth and Henry Caines, Siblings: Nathaniel, Dulcie and Melvin Caines.

Cremation will be taking place with the funeral service and burial to be announced at a later date.

CLEMENTS, MINNIE

Passed suddenly away on Dec. 19, 2016 Minnie Clements at the Connaigre Peninsula Community Health Centre, Harbour Brenton. She was predeceased by her husband Sidney Cassell and husband Randolph Clements. She leaves to mourn her daughters Joan (Bert) Hopkins and Doreen Cassell (Fred Reid); brother Boyce Winsor; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and her step-children and step-grandchildren and a circle of other relatives and friends. Pastor Ben Brown will conduct the funeral service at Calvary Pentecostal Temple Roddickton on Thursday at 11:00 a.m., Dec. 22, 2016, from where visitation took place..  Interment to follow at Roddickton Pentecostal Cemetery. GENGE, MINNIE MAE

Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 8th of March 2015.  Minnie Mae Genge of Anchor Point was in her 99th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories Sons James (Susie- deceased); Rufus (Sophia); Cecil (Olivia); Rendell (Bertha), Daughters Marion (Steve); Bernice (Winston); Mildred (Cyril); Eleanor (Robert- deceased), twenty-three Grandchildren, thirty-seven Great-Grandchildren, twenty-two Great-great-grandchildren, Sisters Annie Field, Casandra Penney, Amelia Nichols, Virtue Mouland as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her Husband Walter Genge, Granddaughter Petrina Genge, Grandson Rufus Genge, Mother Amelia Field, Father James Field, Sisters Else, Rhoda, Dora, and Brothers Arthur, Sandy, George, Son-in-law Robert and Daughter-in-law Susie. Visitation was held at St. Matthews Anglican Church in Anchor Point from which the funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 11th with Reverend Irving Letto. Interment followed at the old Anglican cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M Fillatres Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director. 

HANCOCK, MINNIE MAY

Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 23rd day of June 2014. Miss Minnie May Hancock of Roddickton was in her 57th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her Friend Andrew Compton, two sons Tyson(Caryn), Goose Bay, NL; Jason(Candace), Devon AB; Twin Sister Mary Wilcox(Gus Rumbolt), four grandchildren Brett Hancock, James, Arrick and Kiyerria, Stepfather John Seymour, Springdale, NL; Niece Patti Canning(Barry), Devon AB; as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Shem and Ethel Hancock. Visitation took place at the Calvary Pentecostal Temple in Roddickton from which the funeral service took place at 2:00pm on the 26th day of June2014 with Pastor G.B. Pinksen officiating. HILLIER, MINNIE ERMA


Minnie Erma Hillier was born Nov. 24, 1916 to Thomas and Sarah Ann(Pynn) Pilgrim. Minnie shared her younger years with five other siblings Ralph, Leonard, Ambrose, James, Gladys, and Winnie. Minnie married her first love William Quinton and together they had five children Scott, Hope Wilson, Joy and Bill. After Williams passing, Minnie soon found the second love of her life Llewellyn Hillier. Minnie and Llewellyn married Oct. 10, 1947 and together were blessed with eight children, Lindy, Wavey, Glenda, Wally, Don, Ernest, Elvis, and Pam. They enjoyed their life together and surrounded by all there children. The joy of Minnie’s life was being able to watch her children grow into wonderful adults. Minnie lost Llewellyn the love she shared for forty-five years on December 26th, 1992. Minnie was a hard worker and although it was difficult at times raising thirteen children she made the most of it all, but she also found time to give to her community in many ways. She had talents and with raising thirteen children she learned how to become a wonderful seamstress and cook. Among many other things she was a business lady and was self employed for years. Minnie was a big supporter of her church and carried her banner with honour. She filled the rolls of acting sergeant major, solist and Sunday school teacher and also the Y.P.S.M. She was the very first one to be dedicated in the Griquet Corps , Minnie was always a dedicated church member and will be missed and remembered by her family, relatives and friends. Minnie peacefully away at the John M. Gray Center on the 13th of June 2014 at the age of 97 years. Minnie Erma Hillier of Griquet leaves to mourn her loving children Hope(Keith), Scott(Nellie), Wilson(Evelyn), Joy(Marvin), Bill, Wavey(Ronald), Glenda(Norman), Wally(Herman), Don(Evelyn), Ernest(Kenny), Elvis(Ellen), and Pam(Asner), a large circle of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren, as well  as a large circle of friends. She was predeceased by her first husband William Quinton and second husband Llewellyn Hillier, Son Lindy HIlier, Grandson Jim Hillier, Granddaughter Melanie Fields. Visitation was at the funeral home on June 14th 2014 and continued on at the Anglican church in Dark Tickle on June 15th 2014 from which the funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on the 16th day of June 2014 with Major Dinzel Baggs and Rev.
