MITCHELMORE, MAMIE ELLEN

Mamie Ellen Mitchelmore passed away peacefully at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital, on January 30th 2023 at the age of 84, surrounded by her loving family. 

Mamie Ellen was born in Green Island Cove on December 22nd, 1938 to James and Amy McLean. She was raised with her three sisters and three brothers, whom she remained very close with throughout her life. 

She married the love of her life, Lambert Mitchelmore, on August 16th of 1959 and together they had five wonderful children; Brenda, Scott, Sidney, Kirby, and Ruby. She was also blessed with ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren whom she adored. 

Mamie Ellen loved visits from her wide circle of family and friends. She enjoyed cooking their favorite meals and always had something sweet in the fridge for her visitors to enjoy. Mamie Ellen also enjoyed gardening, knitting and playing cards. 

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories; Children- Brenda (Loomis), Scott (Janette), Sidney (Gail), Kirby (Velda), and Ruby; Grandchildren-  Monty (Denise), Ryan (Judy), Holly (Pelle), Dylan (Megan), Katie (Brandon), Kianna (Ryan), Colton (Kate), Nicholas (Mackenzie), Shannon (Jessica), and Alyson (Dillon); Great-Grandchildren- Cody (Michaela), Leya (Jack), Reid, Emma, Ashton, Kaseon, Finnley, Taylen and Owen; Brothers- John Thomas (Winnie), Vincent (Jessie), and Marcelle (Eura); In-Laws- Rhoda and Graydon; special nephew- Brent; special friends- Selby and Cicely, as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Lambert, her parents, James and Amy McLean, her In-Laws, William and Ruth Mitchelmore, her sisters, Millicent McLean, Maisie McLean, and Rhoda Susan Mitchelmore, as well as her Son-In-Law, Randy Moores. 

The family would like to send a special thanks to her wonderful homecare workers, Jill and Robin, whom she adored. 

Visitation will take place at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Lower Cove, NL from where the funeral service will also be held on Thursday, February 2nd 2023 at 2pm with Rev Canon Vernon Short. Intermittent to follow at the Anglican Cemetery in Green Island Cove. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, NL

TAYLOR, MAMIE VICTORIA

March 1, 1930 - June 5, 2020 Born and raised in Raleigh, NL Mamie passed peacefully away at the age of 90 in her home, with her loving family by her side. Straight out of high school, Mamie taught school at St. Anthony Bight. She married Garland November 9th, 1949. She also spent 32 years as the post mistress in Raleigh. Mamie loved life and was very Social lady who enjoyed playing cards with her friends and family. She was particularly fond of travelling, as well as time Spent at the cabin snowmobiling, smelting and Cookouts. As well, she was an active member of the UCW, and a great support to the Church. She was avid gardener and had a great passion for flowers. She will be forever missed and admired by all who knew and loved her. She had zest for life and was a light to all she met. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children, Lloyd (Shelley), Ronald (Judy), Donna Smith (Welgia), Joanne Bailey (Trevor) and Kimberly Taylor (John); grandchildren, Steven (Amanda), Rocky (Skye), Marteen (Tyler), Sheena (Leighton), Stephanie (Robert), Jessica (Alex), Damian (Amie) and Cindy (Mark); great grandchildren, Sienna, Mason, Xavier, Alexander, Anna, Brooklynn, Aleigh, Reagan, Madison, Mason and Everly; sisters, Vera Budgell, Vie Rowsell and Brothers, Ed Johnson (Kay) and Hector Bussey (Ann);. Sisters-in-law, Marjorie Taylor, Mary Taylor and Shirley Smith. As Well as large circle of relatives and friends, including daughter-in-law, Kay Taylor. She was predeceased by her husband, Garland; her parents, Walter and Melissa Taylor; her brothers, Cecil Taylor (Nellie), Doug Smith and Roy Bussey (Mae).

Passed Peacefully Away at The Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital  in St. Anthony on the 27th of Oct. 2012 in her 98th year. Mamie will always be remembered by her son Graydon (Rhoda), her daughters Myrtle (Ren), Bertha, Velma (Wallace)  and grandchildren Dean (Michelle), Jasper, Jill, May, Ren Jr. (Karen), Trent (Lisa), Chad (Tina), Vaughan (Daisy), as well as eleven great grand children and one great great grandchild, and sister in law Lavenia. Mamie was predeceased by her husband Tom, Sons Maitland and Harvey. Visitation was held at St. Andrews Anglican Chruch in Lower Cove, form which the funeral service was held on the 30th of Oct. at 2:00pm with Rev. Marlene and Harold Harvey officiating. burial followed  in the church cemetery. funeral arrangements where entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral Home St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger Funeral Director.
