GARDINER, LUCY MARGARET (Nee Flynn)

“Her eyes are like diamonds, her face is so fair. Red, rosy cheeks and her curly brown hair. I always will love her wherever I roam, my darling wife Lucy, she’s the pride of our home”.

The life force of our family, Lucy Margaret Gardiner (nee Flynn) passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on May 8th, 2023. Lucy was born on April 25th,1934 in Shoal Cove, Canada Bay. She died at the Health Science Center, St. John’s on May 8th, 2023.

Lucy lived her 89 years to the fullest. She was happiest at home in the “Beauty Spot of the North” - Conche, where she would always welcome those who visited especially her close family and friends. Lucy was known for her sharp wit and her many stories and poems. She wasn’t one to keep her thoughts to herself. She shared her opinions freely. Lucy was one of the most kind-hearted and compassionate people that you could meet. She cared for both young and old. She will be missed by all!

Left to mourn are her children: Joan (Ron), Austin (Ida), Gertie (Bernie), Louis, Sharon, Edward, Michelle (Bernie) and Desmond (Maria). Her grandchildren: Chad, Justin, Gillian, Ryan, Kayla, Sheena, Blair, Ashley, Brandon, Zachary, Patrick, Zane, Nathan, Braedyn, Connor, Luke, Miguel, Jacob, Ana and Mariah. Her great-grandchildren: Brody and Brooke. Her sister Gertrude and her many nieces, nephews, family and special friends.

She is predeceased by her husband, Ronald Gardiner and two of her children. Her parents, Edward Flynn and Bridget Hope.

Visitation to take place from the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Conche beginning the afternoon of Thursday, May 11, 2023. The celebration of life, will be held at 7 pm on May 11, 2023. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 12, 2023 with Fr. George officiating. Interment to follow.

December 18, 1940 – May 24, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lucy Hillier announce her peaceful passing at the Labrador Grenfell Health Long term Care Center in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on May 24, 2021 at the age of 80 years. Lucy spent many hour volunteering at several organizations while living in Pasadena, NL. She enjoyed many road trips with family and she was a long time member of the Tops community were she found her new love of walking. When she started walking you couldn’t stop her, she was always content when walking and greeting people in whatever neighborhood that she found herself in that day. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the staff at the Long Term Care Home in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Lucy will be sadly missed by her Sons, Wilson (Christine), Nelson, Glen, Gary; Daughter, Connie (Stephen) as well as 13 Grandchildren, 10 Greatgrandchildren and a circle of extended family and friends. Lucy is predeceased by her Husband, Ernest Hiller, her Daughter, Doris Budden, her Son, Sandy Hillier, Parents, Eli and Agnes Humby, as well as her Brothers and Sisters. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Alzheimer Society of NL or the Labrador Health Long Term Care Center Helping Hands. PILGRIM, LUCY NAOMI

May 15th 1942 - February 26th 2019

Passed peacefully away into the arms of Jesus on Feb 26th at Charles S. Curtis Hospital in her 76th year. She leaves to mourn with a lifetime of beautiful memories , her children, Shawn (Wanda) and Michelle (Bernie); Granddaughters Chelsea, Mackenzie & Jasmine; Brother Guy Lambert (Annie); Sister Audrey Hillier (Melvin) as well as a close circle of extended family and friends.Lucy was predeceased by her Husband Gilbert Pilgrim, father John Lambert, mother Florence, Step brother Ralph Lambert and step sister Alma Pilgrim

RESTING IN THE ARMS OF JESUS

Visitation took place from the Salvation Army Church in St. Anthony from where the funeral took place at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 3, 2019 with Captains David and Melanie Rideout officiating. FILLIER, LUCY

Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Centre on the 25th day of October 2014. Mrs. Lucy Fillier of Englee was in her 86th year. She leaves to mourn with cherished and loving memories Husband Reginald, Sons Davis(Mary); Jim(Monica); Garry(Karen); Daughters Shirley(Bill) Humby; Hilda(Shane) Pilgrim; Evelyn(Della Demoss); Thirteen Grandchildren, Seven Great Grandchildren, one brother Daniel Randell, Three Sisters Hettie Henpshall, Chatfield Randell, Nellie Humby as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Mark and Lucretia Randell, Three brothers Charlie, Maxwell, and Jesse, Two Sisters Celia Randell and Marjorie Randell. Visitation was held at The Salvation Army Church on the 26th day of October followed through until the funeral service which took place at 2:00pm on the 28th day of October 2014 with Lts. Randy and Cathy Shears officiating. Interment followed at the New Salvation Army Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M.
