HUMBY, LESTER

February 16, 1950 - October 29, 2023

Lester Humby was born in St. Lunaire on February 16th, 1950 to Joseph and Jessie Humby. On September 24th, 1976 he married the love of his life, Judy Blake. They had many great years together and raised 3 children who he loved dearly.

He was known to be a hard worker by all who knew him. Lester was a fisherman, he built boats and did carpentry all throughout his life. He was also a concrete finisher in later years. Lester enjoyed hunting moose and seal, fishing, and thoroughly enjoyed being in the woods.

He leaves to mourn his Wife, Judy; Sons, Todd (Vanessa), Alvhon; Daughter: Jennifer (Charley) Curl; 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; Brothers: Reginald (Regina), Gordon (Margie), Nelson (Joan); Sister: Irene Hillier as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.

Lester is predeceased by his Parents: Joseph and Jessie Humby; Brothers: William, Wilbert, Alvohn, Truman, and Harold; Sister: Florence Patey.

Visitation to take place from Calvary Pentecostal church in St. Lunaire-Griquet beginning Wednesday, November 1, 2023 and continuing until the funeral on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Butler officiating. Interment to follow.

BUDGELL, LESTER ROSS

October 5, 1951 - July 17, 2022

Lester Ross Budgell was born in St. Anthony on October 5, 1951 to Fred and Dora Budgell. He was one of ten children that grew up scouring the rocks and ice pans on Fishing Point. In 1975 he met the love of his life, Donna Richards and they celebrated 40 years of marriage on August 4th of last year.

Lester and Donna settled in St. Anthony, where they had 4 loving children. Lester was a teacher and guidance counsellor in St. Anthony for many years until retiring in 2004, touching the lives of many students along the way.

Lester was a true gentleman with a kind, generous spirit who lived to help others and exhibited a deep love for God and Family. He was a fixture in the Salvation Army church and significantly contributed to the St. Anthony Corps as a band member, worship team leader and frequent vocalist. He enjoyed cooking, snowmobiling, boil-ups, music, hockey and especially spending time in his fishing boat or the salmon river.

Under the caring hands of the staff at Curtis Memorial Hospital and after a lengthily, courageous battle with declining health and family by his side, Lester peacefully passed away on July 17, 2022.

Lester loved to entertain, and especially loved visits with his children, grandchildren and friends. Lester will always be remembered with deep love and affection by his soul mate, Donna and their 4 children Justin (Joanne), Timothy (Stephanie), Chrisoula (Jordan), David (Caitlyn), as well as 7 grandchildren Reed, Rohen, Brie, Emilia, Brian, Mya, and Joseph.

The Budgell family gratefully acknowledges all individuals who offered medical, spiritual, emotional and physical comfort during Lester’s period of illness, especially medical professionals at Curtis Memorial Hospital and the Health Science Center in St. Johns.

Visitation to take place from the Salvation Army Citadel in St. Anthony beginning 7-9 on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 and continuing on Wednesday from 2-4 pm and 7-8 pm to be followed at 8:00 pm by a private family service. The funeral will take place on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Major Stokes officiating. Interment to follow. GREEN, LESTER CLAYTON

July 1, 1933 - December 2, 2021

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Lester on December 2, 2021 from the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital at the age of 88 years.

Lester was born July 1, 1933 in Raleigh to Miriam and Barton Green. On June 11, 1953 he married the love of his life, Irene (Andrews) of Harbour Deep. They made their home in Raleigh where they raised six children. Lester spent most of his life as a fisherman.

He Leaves to mourn his Wife, Irene; Daughters, Yvonne (Alvin), Emily (Randy); Sons, Richard (Janice), Morris (Una), Keith (Helen), and James (Michelle); Grandchildren, Gina (Sheldon), Natasha (Matt), Perry (Angie), Jodi (Kristie), Darrin (Patricia), Justin (Domini), Janet (Michael), Robyn (Tom), Christopher (Keitha), Megan (Geoff), Jamie (Jack); Great-grandchildren, Brandon, Mallory, Rebecca, Emma, Justin, Jessica, Dawson, Olivia, Reese, Greyson, Jake, Samuel; Sisters, Melina, Belinda, Maisie (Richard); Brothers, Joseph (Evelyn), George (Kizzie), and Freeman (Barb) as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

Lester is predeceased by his parents, Miriam and Barton; Daughter, Beatrice Kay; Sister, Ida (Stewart); and Brothers in Law, Stanley Dawe and John Andris.

Private visitation to take place from Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony from 2-4 pm and Saturday, December 4th and Sunday, December 5th. The private celebration of life will take place from Kerry M Fillatre Funeral Home on Monday, December 6, 2021 at 11:00 am with Rev. Arthur Kinsella officiating.
