Passed away October 7, 2019 at the age of 90 years. Sarah Jane was born in Green Island Cove on April 27, 1929. She moved to St. Anthony when she was a little girl where she lived in the orphanage until she met the love of her life, Joseph Keats. They were married in St. Anthony on August 19, 1948 at St. Mary’s Anglican Church. Together they raised 7 children; 4 girls and 3 boys. She leaves to mourn with a lifetime of memories, her children; Lydia (David), Bonnie, Ellen (Calvin), Samuel (Barbara), Edna (John), Joseph (Nancy), and David (Karen); as well as 15 grandchildren (special granddaughter Deanne), 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Jane is predeceased by her husband, Joseph; Mother, Lydia; Father, Richard; Sister, Ellen; Brothers, Churchill, Malcolm, and Theophilius. Visitation to be held form Kerry M. FIllatre’s Funeral Home ion St. Anthony beginning Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from 7-9 pm and will continue on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 from 2-4 pm with the family service taking place at 7:30 pm. The funeral will take place on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 11:00 AM from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in St. Anthony with Rev. Katie Taylor-Flynn officiating.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph Keats announce his peaceful passing at his residence on November 26, 2016. He leaves to mourn, his loving wife of 68 years Jane (Mitchelmore); seven children, Lydia (Dave), Bonnie, Ellen (Calvin), Samuel (Barbara), Edna (John), Joseph Jr (Nancy), David (Karen) and special daughter/granddaughter Deanne (Fred); Brother Ralph (Mabel); Sister Gertie (Lloyd); Sisters-in-law Janet and Florrie, as well many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Emma, brothers Raymond and Baxter as well as his sister Edna. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home in St. Anthony Beginning on Sunday, November 27, 2016 and continuing until the funeral which was held from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in St. Anthony on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 11:00 am with Rev. Katie Flynn officiating. Interment followed in the St. Anthony Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard funeral director. Flowers and Donations will be graciously accepted by the family or a charity of choice.
