HILLIER, MARIE SUSIE (Nee Way)

October 2 1944- August 26 2024

Passed away peacefully on Monday August 26 2024 at John M Gray - Partridge Berry Path Long Term Care Facility in St. Anthony, NL.

Marie was born in Flowers Cove, NL on October 2 1944 to Pearce and Mary Way, she was the 2nd oldest of a family of six. At the age of 14 she moved to St. Anthony with her friends and attended school at the Grenfell School. She stayed and worked at the Hospital. During that time she met Woodrow Hillier and they married April 1965. She continued to work at the hospital for 49 years and started as a nurses aid and later became an Operating Room Technician, the OR became her life and co workers became more like family to her.  She loved her family deeply, her son Dion  and especially her only Grandchild Braeden who she considered to be her whole world.

Marie was pre deceased by many family members but leaving  to mourn are her son Dion, Grandson Braeden, siblings Aub (Marge), Gus(Gennie), Glad, Gord (Roxanne), large circle of nieces and nephews and a large extended Way/Hillier Family.

The family of Marie would like to thank Shirley’s Haven, John M Gray and Partridge Berry Path staff for the exceptional care and comfort she received and her family will be forever grateful to you all.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home in St. Anthony on Sunday September 1st, 2024 from 7-9pm (Public) and Monday September 2nd, 2024 from 2-4pm (Public), 7-8pm (Public) and 8-9pm (Family only). the funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday September 3rd from the St. Anthony Pentecostal Church in St. Anthony, burial will follow the service in the Pentecostal Cemetery.

BUSHEY, ANNIE

January 19, 1953 - May 1, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Annie Marie Bushey of Green Island Cove, NL passed away at the John M Gray Center on the May 1st , 2021, at the age of 68 years. She will be sadly missed by her brothers Raymond (Cicely) and, Garry (Joanne) Mitchelmore and sister Edna Parrill , her sister in laws Judy, Dorcas and Anne Mitchelmore and brother in laws Larry (Melinda), Glenn (Mary), Rodney (Tina) Bushey and fondly remembered by a large circle of nieces and nephews and other family members and friends. Annie “Aunt Annie” was born in Green Island Cove on Jan 19th 1953, the second youngest of 9 children of Theophilus and Augustina Mitchelmore, She became a friend to all of the teenagers in the community as she ran the family Snack Bar for many years. In the early 80’s while on a regular visit to the “Eagle Lounge ”after the snack bar was closed for the night, she met her future husband (Terry Bushey ) whom she was married for 33 years. Although she had no children, she had many nieces and nephews whom she spoiled rotten. She didn’t mind expressing her thoughts but always with a smile. As a mainstay of the family who rarely left home, her and Terry would look after taking care of all the family’s requests such as Family Tree (Christmas), donations to friends and family funerals and other things on behalf of the family. Annie and Terry lived in the family home to help look after “Maw” after “Pap” passed away, either spending time in the cabin or regular trips to St. Anthony to pick up the Grenfell mats. She always loved to have someone in and have a good game of cards and maybe cheat a little bit to have a good laugh. During the last 15 years she has had various sickness but she always kept a positive attitude and was a happy person. She was pre-deceased by husband of 33 years (Terry Bushey), Parents Theophilus and Augustina Mitchelmore and Parents in Law James and Ima Bushey, Sisters Effie Blanche, Lydia Chambers; Brothers Stanley ,Churchill and Willis Mitchelmore; Brother in Laws, Aaron Chambers, Ralph Parrill and Sister in law Margaret Mitchelmore. The funeral will take place at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 15th,2021 at Kerry M Fillatre’s funeral home with Rev. Short officiating. Interment to follow at a later date. BUSHEY, TERRY JAMES

January 13, 1956 – April 7, 2019

Terry James Bushey of Green Island Cove , NL passed away unexpectedly on the April 7th , 2019, at the age of 63 years. Terry leaves to mourn with fond memories his wife of 33 years, Annie Marie (nee Mitchelmore) Bushey ; His Brothers, Larry (Melinda), Glenn (Mary), Rodney (Tina); His Brother in Laws Stanley (Judy) Mitchelmore, Raymond (Cicely) Mitchelmore, Garry (Joanne) Mitchelmore: Sister in laws Edna (Ralph) Parrill, Anne Cotton, Dorcas Mitchelmore and large circle of nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his Parents James and Ima: and Father and Mother in law Theophilus and Augustina Mitchelmore: Brother in Laws Churchill and Willis Mitchelmore ,Aaron Chambers and Sister in laws Lydia Chambers and Margaret Mitchelmore .The funeral took place at 3:00pm on Friday, April 12, 2019 at John M Gray Center with Rev.
