It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear and loving mother, Sybil Howell Pardy of St. Anthony NL, age 91 years on May 21st 2020 at the Western Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook NL. She leaves to mourn with a lifetime of memories, her children, Yvonne (Art) Siciliano of Santa Barbara, Calif, Alvina (Will) Budgell of Pasadena, NL, her 5 grandchildren Melanie (lan). Alisha (Chris), Jayla (James), Gina (Chad), Joey, and her 5 great grandchildren William, Sam, Nate, Rogan and Berrick, brother Don(Carol) Simms of Camrose AB, step children Sharon (Derrick) Patey and Billy (Kris) Pardy and her sister in laws Hilda Simms and Flora Howell Dean. She will also be dearly missed by her special friend, Stanley Elliott and forever friend Barbara Brown as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other relative and friends. Sybil was predeceased by her loving husbands Samuel Howell and William Pardy, her siblings Arthur, Kenneth and Gilbert Simms. Sybil will be remembered by all for her strong faith, her joy of cards, love of dancing and socializing with friends and family. She was unfailingly kind, generous and thoughtful. She was fiercely loved and will be missed. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in Sybil's memory to the St. Mary's Anglican Church Cemetery fund in St. Anthony NL Due to the current public health advisory a private funeral service will take place on May 23rd 2020 from Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home in St. Anthony with Deacon Arthur Kinsella officiating. Interment to follow. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. HOWELL, MARGARET CLARA
Margaret Clara Hancock was born in Goose Cove, NL on August 11, 1952 to Joseph and Agnes Hancock. She grew up in the community with her two brothers, John and Phillip, and her two sisters Theresa and Elizabeth. Margaret graduated high school at Harriot Curtis Collegiate, and went on to graduate as a Registered Nurse from Western Memorial School of Nursing in Corner Brook in 1975. She then came to work in Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthon, where she spent time in many roles, but most enjoyed her time in the Emergency Dept. Margaret married Guy Howell in 1980. They had two children, Krista Lynn and Christopher. After an early retirement from her profession, Margaret spent a great deal of her time involved in activities at her church, Bethel Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed cooking and caring for others. She gave tirelessly of her time and love to anyone and everyone who came in her path. Margaret Passed away into Peace on 10th of July, 2014, with her family by her side. She leaves to mourn her husband, Guy, daughter Krista Lynn, son Christopher (Stefanie), sister Theresa (Edward), sister Elizabeth, brother Phillip (Gail), mother in law Flora, sister in law Selma, brother in law Todd (Sandra), several nieces and nephews, and a large circle of other family and friends. She is predeceased by her father and mother, Joseph and Agnes as well as her brother John. Visitation was held at the Bethel Pentecostal Church, from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on the 13th of July with Pastor Jeff Bessey officiating.
