Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Centre on the 12th day of February 2018. Mr. Reginald H. Fillier of Englee was in his 88th year. He leaves to mourn with cherished and loving memories; Sons David (Mary); Jim (Monica); Garry (Karen); Daughters Shirley (Bill) Humby; Hilda (Shane) Pilgrim; Evelyn (Della Demoss); Thirteen Grandchildren, Nine Great Grandchildren; Brother Alvin (Shirley) Fillier - as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased his Wife Lucy; parents Aubrey and Patience Fillier; sisters Ida (Bill) Ivany, Gladys (Joe) Pollicara, Daisy (John) Newman; Brothers Sandy (Alexander) Fillier (Dulcie), Clancy Fillier (Ethel). Visitation took place from the Salvation Army Church in Englee on the 14th day of February followed through until the funeral service which took place at 2:00 pm on the 16th day of February 2018. TAYLOR, HARVEY
Passed away October 10th, 2017 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital at the age of 88 years. Harvey Taylor was born in Raleigh to John & Elsie Taylor on May 19th, 1929. He grew into a hardworking man with a wonderful sense of humour. In the early 1960’s, Harvey found work at the old Viking Inn on Pistolet Bay. It was there that he met his true love, Catherine, who was employed at the Inn. They married in 1963, at the United Church in Raleigh, where they settled down to raise their family. “In sickness and in health” they were always there for each other. Kay and Harvey raised their children, Ford and Amanda, who have been very supportive throughout his illness. In addition to his humour, Harvey was always an energetic worker. Even after he “retired”, Harvey loved getting out into the woods to work at his firewood. Harvey was known to set his family and friends into gales of laughter at the many comical things he would say. His smile made you feel right at home. He touched many people’s lives, and he will be greatly missed. He leaves to mourn with a lifetime of memories his wife Catherine “Kay”, Children Ford (Wanda), Amanda (Craig); Grandsons Nicholas and Brock; Brother Hedley; Sisters Nellie (Bill), Gert, and Janice. He was predeceased by his parents John and Elsie Taylor, Brother Norman, and Sisters Ethel and Stella. Visitation took place from the United Church in Raleigh from where the funeral service took place on October 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gus Pendleton officiating. Interment followed. Passed away on October 21, 2016 at his Private Residence in Cooks Harbour at the age of 71 years. He was predeceased by his parents Cecil and Florence Smith, Brother Stanley Smith, Nephew Levi Colbourne and Brothers-in-law William Hedderson and Havner Saunders. Visitation was held at the Anglican Church in Cooks Harbour from where the funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 11:00 am with Rev. Passed away in to peace on the 21st of November 2014 at the White Bay Health center, Mr. Harvey John Wilcox of Roddickton, in his 89th year. left to mourn his passing are his Wife Viola, his sons Raymond Wilcox of Roddickton, Winston (Judy) Wilcox of Roddickton, and Leander Wilcox of Roddickton, his daughters Priscilla (Michael) McGee of Florida USA, Ruby (Darby) Parson, Roddickton, Belinda (Kirby) Newman of Englee, Angela (Hank) Dean of Roddickton, as well as 19 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and a large circle of relatives and friends. Visitation was held at the Apostolic Faith Church in Roddickton, from which the funeral service was held on the 25th of November at 2:00pm with Rev. Christopher R. Hewlett officiating, burial followed after the service in the Roddickton Apostolic Faith Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M.
