It is with great sadness, that the family of the late Kenneth (Ken) Harold Fillier announce his passing at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, at the age of 94 years, with family at his side. Ken was born in Hampden, NL and moved to Englee at an early age. It was there that he met and married the love of his life, Melina Cassell of Great Harbour Deep on Aug. 9, 1945. Ken worked in many areas through his life, from working in the woods, deckhand on freighters, and cooking on the Grenfell Mission boat, Marvel. In the last 18 years before retirement, he worked in the fish plant in Englee. Ken and Melina raised 6 children and 2 grandchildren in a loving home. Leaving to mourn their loss while treasuring their memories, children: Golda Ropson - St. Anthony; Woodrow (Linda) Fillier – Cold Lake, AB; Miriam (Seymour) Compton– Englee, NL; Barry (Jenny) Fillier – Lacombe, AB; Drucella (Rick) Pollard – Burlington, ON; Kim (Charles) Fillier - Kitchener, ON and Hayley (Daniel) Fillier-Klepp - Cambridge, ON. Ken will also be sadly missed by brother, Jerry Fillier (Dryden, ON); sisters: Alma Pilgrim (Main Brook), Violet Wilcox (Roddickton) and Ella Andrews (La Scie), 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, many relatives and friends. He is predeceased by: parents Walter and Matilda Fillier; wife, Melina; daughter, Barbara; grandson, Devin; son-in-law, Lebert; brother, Ralph Fillier; and sisters: Bessie Compton and Sylvia Hewlett. Funeral Service to be held at the Salvation Army Citadel, Englee, Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 2 PM. Majors Wilfred and Wavey Simms officiating. HUMBY, HAROLD
Harold was born in St. Lunaire to Joseph and Jesse Humby on November 28th, 1941. Harold started out with a career as a fisherman and in the lumber woods; with the Liner Board in Goose Bay. He did, however, continue fishing. Harold marries Edith Blanchard of Roddickton, NL. They married in St. Lunaire in 1960 and continues to make their home there. Harold and Edith had two children, Flossie and Wilbert. Harold passed away on February 3rd , 2018 from the John M Gray Centre in St. Anthony at the age 76 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his Wife Edith; Children Wilbert (Norma), Flossie (Denley) Hedderson; 9 Grandchildren; 10 Great-grandchildren; Brothers Lester (Judy), Nelson (Joan), Reginald (Regina), Gordon (Margie); Sister Irene Hillier; Brother-in-law Allan Patey as well as large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Harold was predeceased by his Parents Joseph and Jesse Humby; Sister Florence Patey; Brothers Alvohn, Truman, Wilbert, William; and Brother- in-Law Thomas Hillier. Visitation was held from the Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in St. Lunaire-Griquet from where the funeral was held on Thursday, February 8th, 2018 with Pastors John and Joy Baker officiating. BROMLEY, HAROLD
Passed peacefully away at the Western Memorial Regional Health in Corner Brook on Jan.24th 2015. Mr. Harold Bromley of Fish Head Island was in his 74th year. Leaving to mourn one Son Darrin (Debbie) three grandchildren, Corey, Travis, and Kindra. Three nieces’ one nephew Loretta Casey (Steve) Mary McCarthy, Jacinta (Lawrence) Gerard (Juanita) Clarence Mason A large number of grand and great grand Nieces, Nephews, Relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his Mom and Dad Rose and Arthur Bromley, Sister Mary and brother in law Herbert and niece Rose. Visitation was held at the St. Edwards church Grandois, from which the funeral Mass was held at 11:00am on Thursday the 29th of January 2015 with Fr. Vitus Echedo officiating. Interment followed in the Roman Catholic cemetery in Croque. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Fuenral Director.
