FOWLER, STELLA

August 15, 1936 - July 15, 2024

It is with great sadness had heaviest hearts that the family of the late Stella Fowler announce her passing in the presence of her family on July 15th at the age of 87 years.

Leaving to mourn with many fond memories are her daughters: Jessie, Joan, Dorothy, Colleen; Sons-in-law: Bob and Al; Grandchildren: David, Michael (Courtney), Andrew, Maurice (Catherine), Cynthia (Matt); Great-grandchildren: Rebel, Zoey, Liv, Emily, Liam, Jackson, Carson; Sister: Jessie Elms; Sister-in-laws: Cora Fowler, Barbara Fowler, Selma Fowler; and Brother-in-law: Gary Fowler.

Stella will be missed but leaves many fun memories behind wither her home league and church families.

Stella was predeceased by her husband: David; Daughter: Glenda; Parents: Benjamin and Joanna Smith; and an infant brother. Also gone before her was her son-in-law: Maurice Gillingham; Brother-in-law: Leonard, Edward, Delano Fowler, Gary Hammond, Raymond Tilley; Sister-in-law: Dorothy Hammond, Gertrude Prahl, and Viola Tilley.

Many thanks go to her devoted caregivers, especially Sheila. The family would also like to express their greatest gratitude for the excellent nursing care she received.

Friends and family are welcomed to the Salvation Army Church in St. Anthony to say “until we meet again” on Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 11:00 am with Corps Sg. Major Don Noble officiating. interment to follow in the Salvation Army Cemetery.

Flowers are graciously accepted as well as donations to the Salvation Army Cemetery fund.

FOWLER, LOOMIS CECIL

July 18, 1936 - March 30, 2022

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 30th of March in his 85th year, Mr. Loomis C. Fowler of St. Anthony.

Loomis leaves with heavy hearts his wife Millicent, his sons Todd (Jeannie) Fowler and Roger (Vera) Fowler. Grandchildren Michael (Stephanie) Fowler, Michelle (Adam) Maracle, Amanda Fowler (Tyler Hedderson) and Stevon Fowler (Nikita Pittman). Great grandchildren Bria, Kenna, Kohen, Cameron and Holly. Brother-in-law Don (Miriam) Cull. Nephews Randy (Mary Ellen) Cull, Dwayne (Patsy) Cull, Lorne Fowler (Donna Noel), Kirby Pike and special friends Loretta (Heber) Hussey and Donna Fowler.

He is predeceased by his son Glen Fowler and his parents Quincey and Susie Fowler, step-father Wilfred Fowler and brother William (Eva) Fowler and sister Roslyn (Fred) Pike.

Visitation (mask required) to take place from Kerry M Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Saturday, April 2rnd and Sunday, April 3rd. October 25, 1962- June 01 2021

With heartfelt sadness we the family of Glenda Fowler announce her passing on June 1st 2021. She was much loved and will be sadly missed by her mom, sisters, nephews and niece and all her fur friends. Glenda lived a quiet, simple life and suffered in silence. Glenda appreciated everything big or small someone gave and always kept it in her notes. Glenda loved volunteering at the family resource center and the staff there praised her for her good attendance and her special attention to the kids- especially the preschool, who she would give stickers to for their homework and put it in their folders. Special to Glenda, and something that always brought a smile to her face, was her fur friends—Gracie, Joe, Gord, Shep, Teddy, and Chico.

She leaves to mourn her Mom, Stella Fowler; Son, Andrew Ivany; Sisters, Jessie Gillingham (Maurice), Joan Ivany (Bob), Dorothy Fowler, Colleen Loder (Allan); Nephews, David, Michael, and Maurice; Niece, Cynthia; Great-nieces, Rebel and Emily; Great-nephews, Liam, Jackson and Carson. Special in so many ways were her cousins; Jackie, Ruby, Pearl, Shiela and Judy. Also left to mourn also are many cousins as well as her Aunts, Jessie Elms, Selma Fowler, Cora Fowler, Barbara Fowler, and Uncle Gary Fowler. Glenda is predeceased by her Dad, David Fowler, Grandparents, Isaac and Winifred Fowler, and Benjamin and Joanna Smith.

The family would like to send a thank you to the ER and ICU staff at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital, St. Anthony. The ICU staff at the St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, St. John’s. Thank you to the staff on 7 West St. Clare’s. You are all role models with your professional and loving care.

Private visitation to take place from Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home in St. Anthony on Saturday, June 5, 2021. The Private Funeral Service is to take place on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Majors Henry and Beatrice Bingle officiating. Interment to follow. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. FOWLER, WALTER HERBERT

July 12, 1933 - June 29, 2020

born at Great Brehat to Arthur and Caroline Fowler on July 12, 1933. Also born to that family - Mary-Jane, Rosie, Alma, Victor, William & Ross. Walter married Melita Hancock on May 20th. 1960. Bom to this union was Wayne, Judy, Linda, Dennis, Dean, Doreen, and David. He was a hard worker. He went to work in the woods at the early age of sixteen and continue working as a legger until he retired. All the while doing other jobs to help provide for his growing family. He was a good carpenter, he built his own home as well as other buildings and helped to build several long liners. He loved the outdoors, whether it was moose hunting, fishing, rabbit catching or planted his gardens. He also loved to discuss politics with anyone. Walter was not a church going man himself but always made sure that his family went to Church and Sunday school. He gave his life to the Lord in 2007. He was a very meek and mild man who didn't want to be a bother to anyone. After becoming a widower in 2007 he decided to move to Shirley's Haven in St. Anthony. Then in 2012 he suffered a stroke and was moved to the John Grey center where he remained until Monday evening. June 29, 2020 when he peacefully departed this life. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Melita; Parents Arthur & Caroline Fowler, Sisters Alma and Rosie and brother William. He leaves to cherish his memory, his Sons, Wayne (Shirley) Fowler, Dennis (Valerie) Fowler, Dean (Lisa) Fowler, David (Sheila) Fowler; Daughters, Judy (Boyce) Reid, Linda (Derrick) Reeves, Doreen Fowler; Brothers: Victor (Elaine) Fowler, Ross (Pauline) Fowler; Sister, Mary-Jane Hopkins. Private visitation took place from the Apostolic Church in Roddickton from where the funeral was held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 2, 2020 with Pastor Chris Hewlett officiating. Interment followed in the Roddickton Apostolic Faith Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M Fillatre's Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Alicia Patey Funeral Director.
