SAUNDERS, ERIC

September 10, 1929 - January 15, 2025

It is with broken hearts that the family of Mr. Eric Saunders announce his passing on January 15, 2025 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 95 years.

Eric Saunders was born to William and Isabelle Saunders on September 10, 1929 in St. Lunaire and was youngest of seven children. He spent his early years fishing with his brothers and later worked in Goose Bay in the lumber woods.

For many years he had a Bombardier snowmobile and frequently brought friends and neighbours to the hospital as well as in the bay to cut wood. His nephews and nieces fondly remember piling in on weekends for campfire trips.

He was a quiet man with gentle humour and dearly loved his extended family and all children but especially Rochelle.

He leaves to mourn his wife Rita of 39 years as well as a wide circle of family and friends.

Visitation will take place from the Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in St. Lunaire-Griquet, NL on Thursday, January 16, 2024 from 2-4pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 17, 2024 with Pastors Geoff and Charity Butler officiating. Interment to follow.

PILGRIM, ERIC (DICK)

March 9, 1950 - January 2, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Eric (Dick) Pilgrim announce his passing on January 2, 2025 at the John M Gray Center in St. Anthony, NL at the age of 74 years.

Eric (Dick) loved to do things together with his wife, Winnie, especially during Christmas and birthdays. He also had a love for the great outdoors, fishing, and playing hockey. He was a lovely husband to Winnie, and father to his children: Toby and Tina.

One of the greatest things in his life was when he found the Lord and became a faithful member of the Bethel Pentecostal Church with his wife, Winnie.

Eric and Winnie did everything side by side up until they both began to struggle with dementia, then they both moved to the John M. Gray long term care home to spend time together again. Even in their illness they still showed their love for each other with Eric in particular doting on Winnie all the same.

He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his Wife of 23 years: Winnie; Son: Toby (Jody); Daughter: Tina; Sisters: Betty Pilgrim, Millicent (Millie); Brother: Albert (Marjorie), Murdock, Leonard (Janette), Fred (Carol); Sisters-in-law: Margaret, Bertha, Violet (Calvin) Johnson, Karen, Maysie (Primus) Mitchelmore, Joanne; Brothers-in-law: Harrison Hedderson, Roy Taylor, David Taylor, Adolphus Andrews, as well as a large circle of family and friends.

Eric (Dick) is predeceased by his parents: Wesley and Clara Pilgrim; brothers: Aubrey, Samuel; Sister: Evelyn (Harold) Adams, Blanche (Bill) Green, Alice Hedderson, Levinia (Walter) Richards; Brothers-in-law: Calvin Gillingham, Edwin and Ronald Taylor; Sisters-in-law: Darlene Pilgrim, Juanita Andrews, Lephna Hurley; Father and Mother-in-law: Robert and Ethel Taylor.

Visitation to take place from Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Due to inclement weather tentative visitations are scheduled for Sunday, January 5th, and Monday January 6th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, weather permitting. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, January 7, 2024 at 2:00 PM from the Bethel Pentecostal Church in St. Anthony with Major Anthony Stokes and Major Beverly Dart-Stokes officiating. CURTIS, ERIC FRASER

October 8, 1936 - August 14, 2022

Passed away on August 14, 2022 at the John M Gray Center in St. Anthony at the age of 86 years.

He leaves to mourn and cherish memories, his Wife, Loretta Curtis; Grandsons, Dylan and Logan Powell; Son-in-law, Rick Powell; Sisters, Effie Gullage, Loretta Curtis, Mavis (Ben) Milley; Brothers, Jack (Velma) Curtis, Lenester (Linda) Curtis as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

Eric is predeceased by his Daughter, Wendy Nicole Powell; Parents, Abner and Violet Curtis, as well as his Sister, Ethel, Nellie, and Jessie.

A homegoing service was held from the Apostolic Faith Church in Bide Arm on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Howard Canning officiating. Interment folllowed.

SNOW, ERIC CLEMENT

Passed away on January 14th from the Health Science Centre in St. Johns at the age of 53 years. Eric was born to Francis and the late Mary Snow on February 5, 1964. He met the love of his life, Diane Hedderson; they married on June 8th, 1985. Together they raised 3 beautiful children who are his precious jewels; Steven (Tamara), Victoria (Todd), Varrick (Jenna). They have 7 Grandchildren; Cortaz, Dakota, Nathan, Kaci-Rae, Amaya, Alexia, and Samuel, whom Eric loved very much. Leaving with fond and loving memoires are wife Diane; Children Steven (Tamara), Victoria (Todd), Varrick (Jenna); 7 Grandchildren; Father Francis; Brothers Roland (Trudy), Leslie (Paula); Sister Mona as well as a large circle of family and friends. Eric is predeceased by his mother Mary; Mother and Father in law Madeline and Hector Hedderson; and brothers-in-law Billy and Gordon Hedderson. Visitation was held from the Pentecostal Tabernacle in St. Lunaire-Griquet from where the funeral was held on Thursday, January 18th, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Captain Rideout officiating. REID, ERIC JAMES

Passed away on January 2nd, 2017 at the John M. Gray Centre at the age of 56 years. Eric was born to Bartholomew and Velma Reid on October 14, 1960 in Englee, NL. He married Sharon Pittman on Sept 26, 1992 and they had three daughters; Lorna, Sandi, and Sarah. Eric started finishing with his father at the age of 16 and continued to do so until his surgery in September 2013. He also had a great passion for woodcutting and hunting. Many of his friends could tell endless stories of their adventures together with him. Eric had many friends and was well liked by everyone who knew him. He leaves to mourn his wife Sharon; Mother Velma; Daughters Lorna (Dion) Sexton, Sandi (Pete) Budgell, Sarah (Robert) Chaisson; Granddaughters Kylee and Koriana; Sisters Patricia (Dorman), Rowena (Nigel), Dora; Brothers Guy (Rowena), Raymond (Loretta), Alyvone (Mary), Willis, Don (Wanda) as well as a large circle of Family and Friends. He was predeceased by his father Bartholomew on November 5th, 2014. Eric slipped peacefully away into the presence of the Lord on January 2, 2017 at the John M. Grey Centre. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Visitation was held at the Pentecostal Church in Englee from where the funeral service was held on January 6, 2017 with Pastor Simms officiating. Interment followed.
