WHALEN, ELLEN (Nee Genge)

November 17, 1940 - November 18, 2024

It is with great sadness that the families of the Late Ellen Whalen announce her passing on Monday, November 18, 2024 at the Palliative Care Unit of Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook, NL.

She will be sadly missed by her children: Judy Sheppard (Ed), Lorne Whalen (Wanda), Melvin Whalen (Judy); Grandchildren: Chuck Sheppard (Michelle), Chad Sheppard (Emiley), Chelsie Astles (Andrew), Corey Whalen (Shawna), Ross Whalen (Alyssa); Great-grandchildren: Jenna Sheppard, Kayla Sheppard, Logan Sheppard, River Sheppard, Gracie Whalen, Haley Whalen, Claire Astles, Amelia Astles, Zayne Whalen; Sister: Julie White (Ronald). Brothers: Henry Genge (Elva), Harris Genge (Barbara); Sister-in-laws Claire Genge, Hazel Genge.

She is predeceased by husband: Ross Whalen; father: Henry Genge; mother: Dorcas Genge; sisters: Polly Whalen, Jossie McLean, Lillian Genge, Constance Genge; and brothers: William Genge, Garfield Genge (Aurelia), Israel Genge, Cosmo (Marian).

A Family service will take place at the St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Flower’s Cove on Wednesday, November 20th at 7:00 p.m.

The Celebration of Life will occur on Thursday, November 21st at 2:00 p.m. at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Flower’s Cove. Rev. Canon Vernon Short, officiant. Interment to follow.

The family would like to thank all staff of the Palliative Care at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook.

ROSE, CARLA ELLEN

Passed peacefully away at the Health Science center in St. Johns NL, surrounded by her loving family, Carla Ellen Rose of Flowers Cove NL in her 38th year. Left to mourn her passing with hearts full of loving and beautiful memories are her Husband- Danny Rose, Daughter- Bella Rose, Parents- Bill and Caroline Lawless, Sisters - Courtney (Darryl) Wells, Cindy (Thomas) Lawless-Coffin, Mother and father in law-  Linda and Elwin Rose, Brother in law - Darryl (Valerie) Rose,Grandparents- Lucy and Paul Lavallee
Nieces and Nephews - April , Alexis , Porsha,  Jayden ,  Dalton, Cayden and Charlotte, Godchildren- Dalton Rose, James Genge and Cayden Lawless-Coffin, her Special -Aunt Gloria (Keith Billard) Lawless. Godparents -Aunt Marina Caines and Uncle Michael Lavallee. Though young herself, she lived to mourn the passing of her grandparents Dorothy and Patrick Mahar, Great grandmother Juanita Walsh
Aunt Anne Way and Uncle Gerald Mahar.  Also left to morn a large number of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and co-workers.  Family would like to send thanks to the staff at Labrador Grenfell Health , and the staff at the ICU and CCU units at the Health Science Center, St John's for their kindness  and compassion for Carla and our family . Family would like to also say thank you to Rev McGonigle as well as everyone who sent messages and kind words, prayers, food, flowers and who fundraised, donated or helped out in anyway. Your kindness will never be forgotten by the Rose and Lawless families. A Memorial Service was held at the Funeral home in St. Anthony on Saturday Feb. 13th at 3pm with Rev. John McGonigle presiding, other service arrangements will be held at a later date. Funeral Arangments were entrusted to Kerry M. DEMPSTER, ELLEN LILLIAN

Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Centre on the 23rd Day of July 2014. Mrs.  Ellen Dempster of Nameless Cove was in her 74th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her Husband Wallace Dempster; Son Shawn(Connie); Daughter Shona(Amos); Grandchildren Kyle, Kendall and Laci; Brothers Eldon, Derrick, Cletis, Dalton; Sister Lydia as well as a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her Father Spoffard Earle; Mother Isabella Earle and Brother Norman. Visitation was held at the Gospel Hall in Nameless Cove from which the Funeral Service was held at 2:00pm on the 27th day of July 2014 with Gilbert Linstead and Edward Barney officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, Sat. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.


MITCHELMORE, MAMIE ELLEN

Passed Peacefully Away at The Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital  in St. Anthony on the 27th of Oct. 2012 in her 98th year. Mamie will always be remembered by her son Graydon (Rhoda), her daughters Myrtle (Ren), Bertha, Velma (Wallace)  and grandchildren Dean (Michelle), Jasper, Jill, May, Ren Jr. (Karen), Trent (Lisa), Chad (Tina), Vaughan (Daisy), as well as eleven great grand children and one great great grandchild, and sister in law Lavenia. Mamie was predeceased by her husband Tom, Sons Maitland and Harvey. Visitation was held at St. Andrews Anglican Chruch in Lower Cove, form which the funeral service was held on the 30th of Oct. at 2:00pm with Rev. Marlene and Harold Harvey officiating. burial followed  in the church cemetery. funeral arrangements where entrusted to Kerry M.
