October 17, 1943 - March 17, 2022

Passed away peacefully at her residence in Shoal Cove West on March 17, 2022 at the age of 78.
Effie was born in Shoal Cove West to Leah and Jack on October 17, 1943. She was the best Mom, Sister, Aunt, and Friend to all.
She leaves to mourn her Son, Perry, her world as well as her sister Dulcie.
She is predeceased by her Mother, Leah; Father, Jack; Common-law Husband, Jake; Sisters, Dorcas, Emily, Burnidette; Brothers, Leander, Stewart, Stedman, and Gerald.
The family would like to thank her many friends who were there along her journey.
The funeral service will take place at St. Margaret’s of Scotland Anglican Church in Reefs Harbour at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 26, 2022. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton.

HUGHES, EFFIE BLANCHE

Passed away February 18th, 2018 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 82 years. She leaves to mourn with tender and loving memories her Sons Edmund (Maggie), Lester (Daphne), Winsor (Patsy), Garold, and Boyce (Joyce) Hughes; Daughters Marie (Uriah) Hughes, Carol (Dan) Coombs, Doreen (Mait) Noseworthy, Melina (Colin) Macdonald; Step Daughters Vivian (Max) Snow, Maisie (Lloyd) Hughes, Step daughter-in-law Daisy Hughes; Sister Christina Woodward; 29 Grandchildren, 15 Great-grandchildren as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Effie was predeceased by her Husband Lawrence; Son Melvin; Daughter in Law Burnett Noseworthy; Stepdaughter Hazarett Hughes; Stepson Enos Hughes; and Grandsons Baby Boy of Carol and Dan Coombs, and Tyke Hughes. Visitation was held from St. Andrews Anglican Church in Lower cove from where the funeral was held on Wednesday, February 21st, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Omar Reyes officiating. Interment followed in the Green Island Brook Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton.

WYATT, EFFIE JOY

Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family on March 14th, 2017, Effie Wyatt (Patey) of St. Anthony at age 74 years. Leaving to mourn with cherished memories are her husband of 49 years, Joseph and her loving boys, Jeffrey (Deann), Gregory (Mario), grandson Scott (Brooke) and her precious great granddaughter Jade, born on March 4th, 2017. She looked so forward to her arrival and lived long enough to see pictures of her. Also leaving with fond memories are her six brothers, Wilbur (Loretta), Eric (Marjorie), Jerry (Doris), Dennis (Goldie), Alvin (Valerie), Larry (Robin) her only living Aunt Blanche Biles and her brother in law Charles (Joanne), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Herbert and Edith Patey, mother and father in law, John and Emma Wyatt and her precious nephew Joshua Patey and niece Amanda Swinimer (Patey). Effie’s life revolved around her family, whom she loved and cherished with all of her heart. Her nightly phone calls to her boys and brothers, where she always wanted to know in detail how everyone was doing will surely be missed. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home in St. Anthony. The funeral service took place on Saturday, March 18th, 2017 at 2:00 pm from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in St. Anthony with Rev. Katie Flynn officiating. Interment followed. 
 

PARRILL, EFFIE

Passed peacefully away at Charles Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Dec. 10, 2014.  Effie Parrill was in her 67th year.  She leaves to mourn with a lifetime of memories her children Holly (Jim), Chris (Della) and Marjorie (Peter); Grandchildren Thomas, Emily, Ramsey and Brooklyn; Sister Laverne(Arthur) Genge; Brothers-in-law; Sisters-in-law; Nieces; Nephews; as well as a large circle of family and friends.  She was predeceased by her parents William and Marjorie Chambers; Parent-in-law Gilbert and Miriam Parrill.  Visitation took place at St. Boniface Anglican Church in Bear Cove from where the funeral took place on Dec 13, 2014 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon with Rev Irving Letto officiating.  Interment followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Pines Cove.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to KM Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.
