Passed away into peace on the 18th of January, 2025, in her 95th year at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, Mrs. Dulcie Fillier

Left to Cherish Memories are her Children: Roger Fillier (Wendy), Scott Fillier (Donna), Neil Fillier (Bernice), Celia Fillier, Wanda Daye, Patti Fillier (Danny Henzbee), Brenda Brenton (Willis), Her Sisters Delilah Brown and Lillian Ricketts, as well as many grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and a large circle of Friends and Relatives.

Dulcie was predeceased by her husband Bennett Fillier, Her Parents Stanley and Alice Randell, Hers Sons Kevin Fillier and Boyce Fillier, Her Daughter Loretta Fillier, Grandson Tyson Brenton, brother Ronald Randell, Sister Dorothy Randell and brothers in law Steward Randell, Ralph Ricketts, and Samuel Bown.

Visitation will take place at the Salvation Army Church in Englee Beginning Thursday, January 23rd, 2025 and continuing through to the funeral service at 2pm on Saturday, January 25th with Major Janes officiating. Burial will follow the service at the new Salvation Army Cemetery following the service.

GENGE, DULCIE

November 24, 1927 - September 24, 2024

Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at the John M. Gray- Patridgeberry Path, Long Term Care Facility in St. Anthony, NL at the age of 96.

Dulcie was born in Deep Cove, NL to Abram and Alice Genge. She was the oldest of a family of 7. She married the love of her life, Ronald Genge on May 8, 1947 in Anchor Point. it was there that they made a life together and raised their family. Her husband passed away at the age of 62, 37 years ago. Dulcie continued to live at home, surrounded by her family whom she watched and admired daily as her family expanded. She loved each and every one unconditionally.

Dulcie lived in her home until the age of 90. She had many hobbies that she enjoyed. She loved sewing, knitting, gardening, cooking- especially cooking Hot Dinners for her crowd and baking “the best homemade bread”, just to name a few.

She moved to the Ivy Durley Place on May 31, 2018 where she enjoyed herself to the fullest and was treated like royalty. On September 25, 2023 she moved to the Patridgeberry Path wing of the John M. Gray where she spent her last and final year. Everything was always “the best” and she was loved by all.

Our Mom was the heart of our family who always put the needs of her family first. She was a friend to all and she loved everyone. A kind, caring and giving person who faced every challenge head on with courage and determination.

She leaves to mourn her Daughters: Linda, Bertha (Doug), Hilda (Eddie); 6 Grandchildren: Kim (Darryl), Lon (Yvette), Rodney (April), Dane (Jadean), Benay (Troy), Andy (Jennifer); 12 Great-grandchildren: Ian (Tori), Boyd (Danielle), Kyle, Owen, Chloe (Dylan), Ryan, Eric, Luke, Lexie, Kate, Kennedy, and Sophie; Youngest brother: Isaac; Sister-in-law: Jessie.

Dulcie is predeceased by her husband: Ronald Genge; Parents: Abram and Alice Genge; Sister: Tena; Brothers: Kirby, Stedman, Roland, Noah; and Son-in-law: Donald Way.

Visitation to take place from St. Matthew’s Anglican Church beginning the afternoon of Thursday, September 26, 2024. The family service will be at 8:00 pm Thursday evening. The funeral will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Canon Vernon Short officiating. Interment to follow in the old Anchor Point Anglican Cemetery.

WARD, ETHEL DULCIE

Ethel Dulcie Ward
Born April 15, 1937 in Great Brehat

Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family on November 20, 2018 at the age of 81 years. Predeceased by her husband Wallace, baby daughter, parents Uriah and Levinia Cull, and brother Wallace. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her daughter Shirley (Kevin), son Ronnie (Bonita), daughter Shelley (Paul), Precious grandchildren Sheryl (Darren), Kevin, Steven (Anna), Sara (Chris), Curtis (Megan), and Brooke. Great Grandchildren Parker, Preston and Claire. Also her very, very special niece Nadine (Kiera and Rileigh). Sister Pearl, brothers Ronald (Joyce), Norman (Margaret), Pearce (Pauline), Carl (Lillian), Sister in Laws Marie, Doris (Wilson), Jessie, Ella, Neta and Clara.

Thank you to all the staff at the John M. Gray Center for their care and love during her stay. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations made in her memory to the St. Anthony United Church Cemetery Fund.

Visitation was held at the Funeral Home in St. Anthony, Thursday Nov. 22 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, as well as Friday Nov. 23 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The memorial service took place at 2:00 pm on Nov. 24th at the St. Anthony United Church, in St. Anthony with Rev. Gus Pendleton officiating. Funeral services entrusted to Kerry M. TAYLOR, DULCIE

Passed away February 16th 2018 from the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 83 years. Dulcie will always be remembered by her Sons Edward (Jennifer), Carter (Honora); Grandchildren Kylie (Brian), Effie (Kris); Great-grandchildren Kobe, Keegan, Jayden, and Ava. Dulcie was predeceased by her Husband Kirby; Partner John; Son Baxter; Parents Clement and Gertrude Williams; Sisters Mary Jane, Eliza; Brother Roland was well as a circle of extended family and friends. Visitation was held from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove from where visitation was held until the funeral on Monday, February 19th, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Claire Stewart officiating. CULL, DULCIE LILLIAN

Dulcie (Simms) Cull was born to Harrison and Annie (Saunders) Simms on June 27, 1934 in St. Anthony Bight. On March 5, 1952 she married Maxwell Cull of Brehat.  They lived in St. Anthony Bight and raised their family.  Dulcie was a hardworking woman who took care of her family as well as working at FPI for more than 35 years.  She was a faithful member of the United Church, a Life Member of UCW and a member of the LOBA. Dulcie lived her life in St. Anthony Bight until illness forced her to take up residence at the John M. Gray Centre where she passed peacefully away the early morning of January 7th, 2018 at the age of 83 years.  She will be sadly missed.  Dulcie is survived by her children Stanley (Donna), Joan, Will, Holly (Vernon), Ken (Sue), Danny (Angela), Todd (Lisa), and Trent (Brandi).  She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, her sister in law Maisie and brother in law Melvin and many other family members and friends.  She was predeceased by her husband Maxwell, grandson Aaron, her parents Harrison and Annie, Brother Clem, Sister Ivy and chosen sisters Rebecca and Bessie Pilgrim. Visitation was held from Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home in St. Anthony until the funeral on January 11th, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the St. Anthony United Church with Rev. John McGonigle officiating.
