DREDGE, ISABELLA

After a long and courageous battle with cancer, it is with profound sadness and broken hearts, that the family of Isabella Dredge, share the sad news of her passing on August 4, 2023 at the age of 59. She passed peacefully away at the Curtis Memorial Hospital surrounded by family.

Isabella was born on January 11, 1964, to Maxwell and Marie Williams of Pond Cove. She started dating the love of her life and best friend Stephen Dredge in 1980 and they were married on August 19, 1989.

Isabella will be forever remembered and sadly missed by her husband of 34 years Stephen Dredge, Mother Marie Williams, Sisters Nina Williams (Martin), Maxine McLean (Floyd), Mother and Father in-law Edith and Issac Dredge, sister’s in-law Minnie Gibbons (Ted), Jackie Taylor (Wayne), Myrtle Susan Gould (Martin), brother in-law Martin Dredge (Nina). Nieces and Nephews; Travis Taylor, Nikita Mailman (Josh), Franchesca Taylor (Hunter), Spencer Gould (Alison), Nash McLean and Mackenzie Gould. Great Niece Sophie Mailman, Great Nephew Hayden Taylor, Special Aunts Jane and Peggy, Special Cousin Misty, Special Little Girl Isabella Rose Corbin and a Large circle of family and friends.

Isabella was predeceased by her daddy Maxwell Williams, sister Sarah Jane Williams, grandparents Ida and George Williams and Isaac and Sarah Jane Gibbons, brother-in-law Bill Taylor.

The Family would like to thank the Strait of Bell Isle Health Centre and Curtis Memorial Hospital staff for their care during her illness. A special thank-you to her chemo nurse and friend Bonnie Decker – you were the light on many dull days.

Isabella will be fondly remembered as a pillar of Strength, Love, Courage, and Determination to all that knew her.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation and funeral services will take place from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove with the visitation starting the afternoon of Thursday, August 10, 2023 (with the family service taking place Thursday evening) and will continue daily until the funeral at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 11, 2023 with Rev. Coates officiating. Interment to follow.

DREDGE, WALLACE

January 27, 1936 - October 6, 2022

Wallace Dredge, Age 86, passed away peacefully at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony surrounded by his loved ones. Wallace was born to Walter and Maria Dredge on January 27th, 1936. He married the love of his life, Marion Dredge on October 26th, 1967. Together the loving couple raised their 4 children in Black Duck Cove in the home he built for his family. Wallace was a very hard worker all his life who wanted to provide the best possible life for his family. Wallace always enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting wood, playing cards and his daily runs to watch the ferry in St. Barbe.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Marion; Children, June, Wayne (Jackie), Lena (Jake), Norman (Deborah); grandchildren, Travis, Philip, Dustin, Mackenzie, Cole, Madison, Cruz, Cade; Greatgrandchildren, Liam and Layla; Brother, Donald (Ruby); Sister, Jocelyn (Walter) as well as his home care workers, Darlene O’Brien and Tracey Humber, along with a large circle of loving family and friends.

Wallace is predeceased by his parents, Walter and Maria; Brothers, George (Virginia); Sisters, Enid (Raymond), Vivian (Ross), Chritanna (Calvin), and Blanche.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony as well as the staff on the 2nd floor for their invaluable and phenomenal work.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation to take place from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove beginning the afternoon of Tuesday, October 11, 2022 and will continue until the funeral at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 with Rev Coates officiating. Interment to follow.

DREDGE, DAWN (SPENCE)

January 29, 1974 - November 2, 2021

Born on January 29, 1974 in Port Aux Choix, NL, Dawn grew up most of her childhood life in Port Aux Choix then moved to Black Duck Cove a little later in her teenage years. Dawn was blessed with 2 beautiful girls, Ashtin and Anita, who then gave her 2 beautiful grandkids, Kenny and Kenzie who she loved dearly. Dawn married Sammy Dredge on October 12, 2019. She was a beautiful soul, she’d give away her heart, but little did we know her beautiful heart would stop November 2, 2021. She is forever loved and missed by her Husband, Sammy; Daughters, Ashtin (Kenny), Anita (Darren); Grandchildren, Kenny and Kenzie; Mother Laura (Don); Mother-in-law Hannah; Sister-in-law, Sadie (Camille), Trudy (Samuel), Ida (Scott), Wanda (Gordon); Brothers-in-law, Dean (Faith), Maxwell (Betty), along with her nieces and nephews and a wide range of other family and friends. She is predeceased by her Father, Howard Coles; Brother, Kenneth Spence; and Grandparents, Donald and Evelyn Spence. Visitation to take place from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove on Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm from where the funeral will take place on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Rev. DREDGE, KELVIN GERALD

passed away on April 11th, 2017 from St. Claire’s Mercy Hospital in St. Johns at the age of 74 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his Wife Lillian; Children Wilhelmina (Bill), Lonnie (Millie); Grandchildren Chandler and Miguel; Siblings Chesley, Abraham, and Families; Nephew Kelvin Jr.; In-Laws, Maryann, Verna, Alton, and families as well as extended family and friends. Kelvin was predeceased by his Parents William and Rachel Dredge, and his Siblings, Myrtle, Rita, and Roland. Visitation was held from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove from where the funeral service was held on April 16th, 2018 with Rev. Jennifer Renouf officiating. Interment followed. DREDGE, CLIFFORD

It is with Great Sadness that the family of the late Mr. Clifford Dredge announce his sudden passing on the 21st day of March 2015. Mr. Clifford Dredge of Black Duck Cove was in his 58th year. He leaves to mourn with heavy hearts is Son Clifford Jr. Z(Amanda), Daughter Laura(Chuck), Granddaughters Shelby, Halie, Bella, Grandsons Cody and C.J., Sisters Mona(Gerald) and Marjorie(William) Brother Steve as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Grace, Father Absalom Sr., Mother Rachel, Mother-in-Law Debbie, Father-in-Law Donald, Brothers –in-Law Maxwell Gould, Albert Spence, George Spence, Nephew Kenneth Spence Jr., and Niece Shara. Visitation was held at the at the St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove from which the funeral service was held at  2:00pm on the 27rh day of March 2015 with Rev. Harold Harvey officiating. DREDGE, GRACE MARY

It is with heavy hearts the family of the late Mrs. Grace Mary Dredge announce her passing at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 3rd day of August 2014. Mrs. Grace Dredge of Black Duck Cove was in her 51st year. She will always be remembered and loved by her beloved husband Clifford Sr. , Son Clifford Jr. (Amanda), daughter Laura(Chuck), Granddaughters Shelby, Halle, Bella, Grandsons Cody, and C.J, Brother Kenneth(Daphne), Sisters Laura(Don), Dawn(Sammie), Michelle and Ivy(Dave), Sister in laws Mona(Gerald), Marjorie(William), Brother-in-law Stephen as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her Father Donald, Mother Debbie, Mother-in-Law Rachel, Father-in-Law Absalom Sr., Brothers George, Albert, Nephew Kenneth Spence Jr., Niece Shara Lynn Spence. Visitation was held at the St. Mary's Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on the 7th day of August 2014 with Rev. Harold Harvey officiating. DREDGE, LORENZO


Lorenzo dredge was born on April 1, 1929, in Black Duck Cove, to William and Edna . He had five sisters Rhoda, Ima, Nina, Jessie and Marion, two predeceased brothers Joseph and Samuel. He married Christina Campbell on February 8, 1961 and had a marriage of 53 yrs. They raised five children , and they now have six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren . Lo spent time on the fishing grounds to provide for his family. He worked with the highways for sometime , and would take his family over to camp 4 , where Chris would cook. Lo was a dedicated worker and provider for his family , he love to socialize with his family and always knew where each one of his children was. Lo remain active , showing his skills and work ethics as he worked on several projects when he retired. Someone once said that the best part of a good man's life is his acts of kindness and love . Lo was a loving and caring husband . He was proud of his children and spoke of his grandchildren and great grandchildren so fondly, he had a genuine concern for everyone in his family circle. He passed peacefully away  on may 13/2014 at Charles S Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony. Lo is survived by his wife Christina Children- Robert(Maryann),  Wavey(Dennis), Curtis( Louise), Nina( Thomas), Scott(Amelia) Grandchildren- Lorenzo(Teraceta), Brian(Abby), Jamie( Jessica), niki(Diana), Tristan, jaycee Great grandchildren- Kaden, Ty , Jaden, Gracielynn Sisters- Rhoda, Ima , Jessie, Marion He was predeceased by his loving parents  William and Edna Predeceased brothers- Samuel and Joseph Predeceased Sister  - Nina Predeceased brother in laws- Clyde and Jacob. Visitation was held at St. Mary's Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove, From Which the funeral service took place at 2:00pm on May 16th, 2014 With Rev. Harold Harvey officiating. burial followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Black Duck Cove. Funeral arrangement were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton.
