It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorcas Genge on December 17th, 2023 at her family residence in Anchor Point surrounded by her loving & devoted family at the age of 77 years.

Dorcas leaves to mourn her daughter: Easta (Dan); son: Rick (Crystal); grandchildren: Malcolm, Ricki, Lauren; her sisters Barbara, Marie, Bertha, Mona, & Lucy (Hub) as well as a large circle of relatives & friends.

She is predeceased by her Husband Steward; her parents, and her sister & brothers. 

Cremation has taken place. The funeral will be a announced at a later date.

RICHARDS, DORCAS

May 15, 1927 - December 17, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Dorcas Richards announce her passing on December 17, 2022 at the age of 95 years at the John M Gray Center surrounded by her loving family.

Dorcas was the loving wife of the late James Richards as well a Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Great-great-grandmother, Mother-in-law, and Sister. She was a very caring person who loved to spend time on the rivers salmon fishing and on the bogs and hills berry picking. She was a great cook and baker and made many wedding cakes. She also loved to knit and sew.

She leaves to mourn her Children: Rex (Joan), Lester (Viva), Ruth, Patricia (Charlie); Son-in-law: Freeman; Daughter-in-law: Cindy; Grandchildren: Shane, Janice, Trina, Tina, Kevin (Jaymie), Terry (Joni), Greg (Lyndelle), Glenn (Shannier), Melissa (Jeremy), Chad (Karisa); Great-grandchildren: Madison (Chris), Lucas (Caris), Autumn, Brady, Sydney, Katee, Cameron, Hayden, Brooks, Shayla, Emmy, Casey, Clarice; Great-great-granddaughter: Ivy; Half-siblings: San (Eliza), Melvin (Carol), Joyce, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dorcas is predeceased by her Parents, George and Dinah Saunders; Husband: James; Son: Kevin; Daughter: Barb; Son-in-law: Gerald; Sisters: Bessie (Ben), Helen (Albert), Keziah (Fred), Rebecca (Will), Vera (Bill).

Visitation to take place from the Pentecostal Church in Main Brook the evening of Monday, December 19, 2022 from 7-9 pm. The funeral will take place on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 2:00 om with Pastor Skinner officiating. Interment to follow in the Salvation Army Cemetery.

September 29, 1932 - August 5, 2021

Dorcas Baines, 88, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2021 at the Long-term Care Unit, Rufus Guinchard Health Centre. Dorcas was born in Shoal Cove West, NL to Lean and John (Jack) Coombs on September 29, 1932. She loved playing cards and she loved her family.
She leaves to Mourn, her Children; John, Hubert (Lucy), George (Darlene), Joy (Steve), Cyril (Theresa), Effie (Bax), Bob, Gay (Jeff); Son-in-law, Doff, Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren and her sisters, Effie and Dulcie.
Besides her parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters, she is predeceased by her husband Noah; Daughters, Yvonne and Jill as well as her sons; Pearce, Iran, and Noah.
Dorcas’ family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre for their exceptional care of our mom over the past 2 1/2 years. We would also like to thank her dear friends, Lillian Beaudion and Una Hynes and everyone who visited her at home and at RGHC.
Cremation has taken place, funeral service and inurnment will be held at French Cove Cemetery on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 2:00pm with Rev. Gosse officiating.

MCGRATH, GENEVIEVE DORCAS

Genevieve Dorcas McGrath of Grandois, born on July 5, 1938 to Ambrose and Isabella McGrath (nee Bromley). Gen passed away peacefully on March 26, 2020 at the John M. Grey Centre at the age of 81. Gen had a love of crochet and quilt making, and loved a good game of darts or bingo in her younger years. Leaving to mourn is her brother Ambrose (Maureen), sister in law’s Nora, Ida and Doreen, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Gen was predeceased by her parents, Ambrose and Isabella McGrath, brothers John Joe, Leo and Timothy, sister Maude Whiteway, and brother in law John Whiteway. At the family’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will schedule a memorial service at a later date this year. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff of the John M. Grey Centre for the kindness they have shown to her and our family during her time there. MITCHELMORE, DORCAS

Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 26th day of February 2015. Mrs. Dorcas Mitchelmore of Green Island Cove was in her 72nd year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 52years Winston, her children Winston, Marlene(Eric), Faye(Gerald), Julie(Harvey), Milton(Susan), Josie(Dwight), Grandchildren Jordan, Susie, Brandi, Robby, Jada, Danny, Chuck, Brady, Michelle, Monique, Great- Grandchildren Chloe, Isaac, Peyton, Spencer, Bella, Layla, Sister Lydia(Eldred), Brothers George W. (Marina) and Whyman as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Reginald and Johanna, Sister Julie and Sister-in-Law Minnie. Visitation was held at the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Lower Cove from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on the 1st day of March 2015 with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Green Island Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.
