it is with deepest sadness that the family of the late Virtue Parrill of Pines Cove announce her passing on July 18th, 2021 at the strait of Belle Isle Health Center in Flowers Cove, NL at the age of 78 years. She will be sadly missed by her children Clayton and Cedric (Cara); Grandchildren Cody, Dallas (Haley), Christian (Jessica), Cadie; Great Grandchildren Jake and Tommy; Siblings Nicholas, Olive, Chris (Shirley), Thamsie (Wallace), Hughie (Marie), Fred (Melvina), Maggie (Edmund), Patsy (Windsor), Barry (Ruby) and Susie (Scott), as well as her nieces, Nephews, extended family, Friends and her “Special Mothers” at the Ivy Durley place. Virtue was predeceased by her husband George Parrill, her parents Uriah and Mary Elizabeth Hughes, her sisters; Nancy, Velma, Dorothy and Olga, brother in law David Noseworthy and Sister in law Marjorie Hughes.

The family would like to send special thanks to the staff at the Ivy Durley Place and to her sisters Maggie Hughes, Patsy Hughes and Susie Macey for their tremendous kindness and exceptional care of mom when we couldn’t be home.

Visitation will be held at the St. Andrews Parish in Lover Cove on Tuesday July 20th between 8 and 10pm and Wednesday, July 21st between 10am and 12 noon followed by her celebration of life at 2pm with Revered Deacon Vernon Short Officiating. Passed away into peace on the 3rd of July, 2021 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony NL. Left to mourn her passing with a lifetime of loving memories are her daughters Lillian (Max) Matthews and Lourie Ann (Tyson) Hedge, grandson Patrick (June) Matthews, Great Grandchildren; Alexis, Jackson and Emerson (Shannon), Special Nephew Ricky (Danielle) Hughes, Brothers and sisters; Marona Noseworthy, Stanley (Jill) Hughes, Edna (Iverson) Coates, Willis Hughes, Yvonne (Stewart) Hughes, Velma Noseworthy, Delilah (Lewis) Hughes, Joyce (Boyce) Hughes. as well as her sister in law Hazel Hughes, Aunts and uncles; Rita and Ivany Parrill, Millie Macey, Cicely and Don Dempster, Grand puppy Chloe, Special friend Melvina Hughes and a large number of Nieces, Nephews and Friends. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents John and Maria Hughes, Grandson Max (Bubba) Matthews jr.. Brothers and sisters; Violet, Nelson, Ross, Lawrence and Maitland, Brothers and sister in-law; Isaac Noseworthy, Osbourne Noseworthy and Winnie Hughes.

Funeral service is being held at the St. Andrews Anglican Church in Lower Cove on Wednesday July 7th, 2021 at 2:00pm with Rev. Dec. Passed away March 6, 2021 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Centre at the age of 89 years. She is survived by her Daughters, Merina Genge (Earl), Barbara Chambers (Whyme), Gwen Sheppard (Craig), Jennifer Pilgrim (Gavin); Sons, Lewis Pilgrim, Darryl Pilgrim (Ruby), Ronald Pilgrim (Mary); Grandchildren, Jackie Noseworthy, Janice Dredge, Pamela Way, Bradley Chambers, Calvin Chambers, Travis Sheppard, Tiffany Sheppard Russell, Shauna Wells, Chantel Wells, Hope Gibbons, Jacey Gibbons, Michael Pilgrim, Sandi Whalen; Greatgrandchildren, Sheena, Sandi, Nicolette, Timmy, Quinn, Rebecca, Brooklyn, Reegan, Hailey, Heidi, Izzydora, Leo, Max; Great-greatgrandchildren; Alyssa, Brayden as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Wilfred Genge Jr. was born in St. Anthony, NL on May 31st 1972 to Wilfred and Olive Genge. He married his Wife, Trista in 2007 and had two Children, Landon and Averie Genge. Wilfred went to work fishing with his dad for many years. Later in life we made a career change to the oil industry where he met many lifelong friends. His children were his pride and joy, and days off were always spent with his family. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his Wife, Trista; Son, Landon; Daughter, Averie; Father, Wilfred Genge Sr.; Mother-in-law, Edna Genge; Father-in-law Roland Genge; Sisters, Trudy (Michael), Effie (Ernest), Connie (Shawn); Brother-in-law, Travis (Stacie), as well as Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Friends and Colleagues. Wilfred was predeceased by his Mother, Olive Genge; Grandparents, William and Kathleen Genge, and Jospeh and Agnes Genge. HUGHES, ALBERT

Albert Hughes was born on April 15th, 1945 in Green Island Brook to James and Edith Hughes, where he lived for the first 2 and a half years of his life. He then lived with his aunt Sarah and Uncle Albert Bailey in Big Brook. Albert spent most of his life in St. Johns. Left to mourn his passing are Cyril (Maxine), Douglas (Jeannie), Rhoda (Lloyd), Wallace (Joanne), nieces and nephews and a large circle of family and friends. Albert Was Pre Deceased by his Mother and father Edith and James, Sisters Lillian Hughes, Marion Hughes and brother Lambert. The funeral service was held at the St. Andrews Anglican Church in Lower Cove at 11am on The 13th of October with Rev. Deacon Short Officiating, burial followed at the Community Cemetery in Green Island Brook. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

COOMBS, BENJAMIN

March 17, 1934 – March 16, 2020

Passed suddenly but peacefully away at the health science Center in St Johns at the age of 85 years. He leaves with many beautiful memories, his children; Chris (Krista), Dan (Carol), Sheila (Craig); Grandchildren, Benjamin, Halle, Anna, Ellen and Stephen; Sister In law, Effie; Nephew/friend, Lawrence, as well as a large circle of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends He is predeceased by his wife of 58 years Marion (Way), infant grandson(Dan & Carol), Parents William and Matilda Coombs, Brothers George C, George Y, Kenneth, Wallace, Hubert C, Hubert Y, Jack, Absalom, and baby Charlie. Sisters Una, Sarah Fanny, and Mary Ann. He was a gentle fun loving good man. Visitation will take place from the Anglican Church in Plum Point beginning the evening of Friday, March 20, 2020 and will continue on Saturday, March 21, 2020. The funeral will be by invitation only. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at 2:00 pm with Deacon Short officiating. Interment to follow in the Pond Cove Anglican Cemetery.

If you would like to support the Coombs family at this time but cannot be accommodated at the funeral, we extend an invitation for you to join the funeral procession from the church at 3:00 pm on Sunday. Although we cannot be physically close, please help us show the family that they are close at heart.

GENGE, ELIZABETH

Passed away at Western Regional Memorial Hospital on the 26th of December, 2019, Mrs. Elizabeth Genge of Deadmen’s Cove NL, at the age of 72. Elizabeth Leaves to mourn, with fond and loving memories; her daughter Julia, grandchildren Gabby, Willie and Luc, Sisters Joyce (Gaydon) and Clara (Robert) and their families, Brothers Stanley (Mona) and Donald (Agnes) and their Families, Sisters in Law Sue, Shelia, and Sadie and Their Families, Brother in law Cyril and family. as well as many special friends whom took great care of her over the years. She was predeceased by her husband Charlie, Son in law Wayne, Parents Maria Jane and Steward and brother Clifford. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Anchor Point, from which the funeral service was held on the 30th of December at 2:00pm Followed by burial in the Church cemetery with Deacon Rev.
