CURL, DAPHNE DARLENE

January 31, 1968 - December 12, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of Daphne Darlene Curl, aged 54 years, shares news of her peaceful passing, after living with early dementia, on December 12, 2022. Originally from St. Lewis, Labrador, Daphne most recently resided in Roddickton, NL.

Predeceased by her beloved parents Thomas and Margaret Curl, brothers David & Garland (Jane) and sister Beatrice.

Left with fond and loving memories are her sister Verna Smith (Lawrence d.), brothers John (Phyllis), Guy (Ivy) and Denley (Donna) as well as a large circle of nephews and nieces, special friend Michael Hennessey and her treasured dogs Joey & Bailey.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of the John M Grey Center in St. Anthony who cared for Daphne in the last few months.

Cremation will take place with a memorial service to follow at a later date in St. Lewis.

NOBLE, DAPHNE (SIMMS)

Passed away September 19, 2016 at the age of 96 years. Daphne Noble was born to Elias and Mary Simms in St. Anthony Bight in 1920. Daphne grew up in St. Anthony Bight. On August 10, 1938 she married Eric Noble. They made their home in Great Brehat, and together they raised eleven children; nine daughters and two sons. Daphne was a quiet woman who enjoyed being a traditional homemaker. She worked with Eric making the fish, and enjoyed booking, baking, knitting, berry picking, and the gardens. She also enjoyed watching soap operas, especially Coronation Street. On Monday, September 19th she passed peacefully away. She is survived by her children, Marie (Lloyd- deceased), Drene (Basil- deceased), Violet (Absalom), Sadie (Robert – deceased), Elsie (Fred), Raymond (Lillian), Alex (Janice), Alma (son Shawn), Mabel (Hebbert), and Bessie (John- deceased). She is also survived by 37 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, and 34 great-great-grandchildren, and her sister-in-law Bertha Noble. She was predeceased by her husband Eric, infant daughter Sadie, five brothers, and four sisters. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre’s funeral home in St. Anthony with the family service taking place at the St. Anthony United Church from where the funeral service was held on September 22, 2016 with Rev. Dinesh Gomes and Rev. John McGonigle officiating. Interment followed. Funeral services entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger funeral director.

PYNN, ADA DAPHNE

Ada Pynn was born on may 11, 1933 in St. Lunaire to Thomas and Deborah Bussey. she married Gilbert Pynn of Quirpon on Feb. 27th 1953, they were blessed with 4 Children; 2 daughters and 2 sons, who made them proud grandparents to 3 grandsons and 1 grand daughter. Ada worked a short time with FPI. she was a loving  Wife, Mother, grandmother. she was a very Caring and fun loving person who loved to entertain and bring smiles to peoples faces. .on June 28th 2014 she passed peacefully away at the john m. gray center surrounded my her family . she will be missed by a large circle of family and friends. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her two daughters Elizabeth (Wes), Donna(Don), two sons John (Joyce), and Rick (Glenys), five Grandchildren Cory, Chris, Vanessa, Justin and Michael, Six Great Grandchildren , Two sisters Mable and Betty, Three Brothers Charles, David, and Fred and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and family as well as friends. She was predeceased by her husband Gilbert, Parents Thomas and Deborah Bussey, Sister Effie, June and Nina and Brother Don. The visitation was held first at the funeral home in St. Anthony and Concluded at Central United Church in Quirpon. From which the funeral service took place at 2:00pm on Thursday July 3rd, 2014 with Rev. Gus Pendleton officiating.
