GOULD, CYRIL

It is with great sadness that the family of Cyril Gould announce his passing on the 29th day of March 2023 at Charles S Curtis Memorial Hospital in St Anthony in his 85th year.

Left to mourn are his children: Kevin (Caroline), Velma (Clayton), Brenda (Steve), Brian; Grandchildren: Brent, Corey (Jelisa), Jonathan, Charli (Cody), Jeffrey (Felicia), Jamie (Megan), Kade; Great grandchildren: Maddison, Heidi, Layla; sister: Hazel; in-laws: Maria, Bridget, Clyde (Ethel), Marie (George), Mary, Jane (Abe), Austin (Ivy).

Cyril is predeceased by his wife, Ivy; parents: John and Sarah; mother and father in law: Steve and Effie; Brothers: Eric, Isaac, Freeman(Jessie), Harvey, Carl sisters, Emily, Marjorie (William); In-laws: William, Gloria, Georgina (Daniel), Alma (Garfield), Curtis.

The family would like to thank the staff at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital for taking care of our dad in his time off need.

Cremation to take place with funeral arrangements to be announced.

RYLAND, CYRIL

August 6, 1948- June 10, 2022

Born to Samuel and Sarah Ryland on August 6, 1948. Passed away June 10, 2022 from the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 73 years.

He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his Wife (common-law spouse) Gertrude Applin; Sons, Damien Ryland (Jocelyn), George Ryland (Sheena); Daughter, Tracey Applin (Darrell); Stepson, Edward Brinson (Colleen); Brother, William Ryland (Adeline); Sister, Eileen Toope, as well as other extended family and friends.

Cyril is predeceased by his Father, Samuel Ryland; Mother, Sarah Jane Ryland; Brothers, Clarence Ryland, Edward Ryland; Levi Ryland, Terry Ryland, and Joseph Ryland.

Cremation to take place, funeral and visitation details to be announced.

Cyril passed away on September 29, 2020 at the age of 73 years. He leaves to mourn Children, Jacqueline, David (Angela), Stacey; Grandchildren, Cassandra, Zachary, Emily, Jordan; as well as many extended family and friends. He was predeceased by the love of his life Burnette; Parents, Stephen and Agnes. A Celebration of Life service was held on, Friday, October 2, 2020 at 2:00 pm from Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home with Bishop John Organ officiating. Cremation followed with inurnment at a later date.

CANNING, CYRIL MARTIN

Cyril Martin Canning was born in Williamsport, NL on October 20, 1954 to Harvey and Melah Canning. He moved to Englee when he was two years old till his early teens. From there he moved to Goose Bay for a number of years, then to Dryen, Ontario then to Digby, Nova Scotia and then to Fort McMurray Alberta where he resided until his death. He was blessed to have two wonderful sons born from a previous marriage. He met his present wife Maxine in August 1997 at the Come Home Year Reunion at Roddickton. (Surprisingly, they grew up as next door neighbours during their childhood). Then they got married on July 16th, 1999, when he then welcomed a step-daughter into his life. They settled in Digby, Nova Scotia until April 2007 and then on to Fort McMurray, Alberta until his passing on April 20th, 2016. Cyril was a very proud poppy to his nine wonderful Grandchildren. They were his pride and joy. He will be sadly missed by his wife, family, and friends, Gone but not forgotten. Pieces of our hearts are missing now that you are gone. He was predeceased by his parents Harvey and Melah Canning, Brothers Maxwell and Joshua. Visitation was held at the Calvary Pentecostal Temple in Roddickton from where the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on Thursday the 28th day of April 2016 with Pastor Benjamin Brown officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger Funeral Director. In memory of Cyril Canning donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
