RANDELL, CLAUDE

April 12, 1949 - March 9, 2019
 It is with great sadness that the family of Claude Randell of Englee announce his passing at the Roddickton Health Centre on March 9, 2019 at the age of 69 years. Claude was born on April 12, 1949 in the small outport community of Williamsport, NL. In 1969, his family resettled to Englee, NL where he met and married Joyce, his wife of 48 years. Claude loved the great outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting, playing darts and watching hockey. With loving memories, Claude is remembered by: his wife Joyce; daughter, Kathy (Barry) Randell and son, Jamie (Stephanie); 2 Grandchildren, Chad Randell and Darla (Eric) Yao; 3 Great Grandchildren, Sienna; Ethan, and Jack. 2 brothers, Joshua (Pauline) and Roger; 5 sisters, Ruby (Wilson) Randell, Selma (Robert) Randell, Pansy (Reuben) Curtis, Pearl (Wayne) Fillier, and Rita (Frank) Pittman as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Claude was predeceased by his parents Hezekiah and Emma Randell; Brother, Ivan Randell and Parents in law, Stewart & Dulcie Brown. Public viewing took place from the Englee United Church. The Celebration of life service was held at The Englee United Church on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Majors Frank and Rita Pittman officiating. Interment followed in the Englee United Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

COLES, CLAUDE

Passed away March 20th, 2018 from the Health Science Centre in St. Johns at the age of 84 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his Wife Lillian; Daughters Wanda and Leah (Curtis); Grandsons Gavin and Brendan; Great-grandsons Jagger and Jaxon; Sisters Lorrie White, Mable Diamond, Irene Sinyard; Brothers/Sisters in law Hazareth Coles, Beatrice, Caroline (Walter), Joan, Isaac (Olive), Sharon, Clayton (Sheila), and Edna. Claude was predeceased by his Mather, Father, Sisters, Brothers, Sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law. Visitation was held from St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove from where the funeral was held on Sunday, March 25th, 2018 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Claire Stewart officiating. Interment followed. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

HUGHES, CLAUDE

Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on the 27th of July, Mr. Claude Hughes of Green Island Brook in his 63rd year.  Left to mourn his passing are his wife Vera Hughes, his sons Shane, Andy (Dara), and Ryan, his grandchildren Adam and Hartley, As well as his brothers William, Roland, Nathaniel (Patricia), Israel (Francis), Whyman and Winston (Mona), sisters Amy (Stanley), Elva, Beulah (David), Sheila (Frank), and sister in-law Phoebe.  Despite his young age Claude lived through the passing of his parents John and Bridget, his brother Baxter, sisters Stella and Maria as well as his in-laws’ Orval, Margaret and Rosie.  Visitation was held at the St. Andrews Anglican Church in Lower Cove, from which the funeral service took place at 2:00pm on the 30th of July with Rev. Marlene Harvey and Lay person Maxine Hughes officiating.  Burial followed the service in the Green Island Brook Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements where entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger Funeral Director.
