GREENE, BARBARA

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Barbara Greene announce her passing on October 23, 2022 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, NL at the age of 70 years. She was surrounded by her loving husband, son, and family members.

Barb was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandma, Daughter, Sister, and Aunt. She was a very caring person. Not only did she care deeply for her family but she also deeply cared for others and would treat them like her own. She was always eager to organize and prepare for family gatherings (shed parties). She always looked forward to having everyone together.

She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her husband of 49 years, Freeman Greene; Son, Greg (Lyndelle); Granddaughter Katee; Mom, Dorcas Richards; Siblings, Rex (Joan), Ruth, Patricia (Charlie), Lester (Viva); Brother and Sister In-laws, Cindy Richards, Melina Dawe, Belinda Andris, Joe Greene (Evelyn), Mazie (Richard) Trumper; George (Kizzia), Irene Greene as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Barb is predeceased by her Father, James Richards; Brother, Kevin Richards; Parents-in-law, Barton and Miriam Greene; Sister-in-law, Ida Patey (Stewart); Brother-in-laws, Stanley Dawe, John Andris, and Gerald Martin.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the caring doctors and nurses of the Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Barb’s memory may be made to the Grenfell Foundation, South Chapter.

It is with great shock and sadness the family of Hiram Ambrose Rumbolt announce his sudden passing on January 23, 2021 at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, NL, at the age of 64 years. Hiram is predeceased by his parents Chesley and Isabella Rumbolt of New Ferolle, NL. Leaving to mourn his common law spouse of 49 years, Deanna, son Murray (Pierrette), grandson Kaine, brother Cletus (Sophia), nephews Todd (Thelma), Tyson (Megan) and Victor (Tamara Marie), brother in law Shawn (Dana), special father and mother in law, Albert and Olga Coombs and a wide circle of relatives and friends. His family knew him as a kind, gentle and helpful man, always someone you could rely on. Hiram enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his son and grandson on the West Coast, hunting, fishing and of course working. He worked with the Department of Transportation and was a very dedicated employee, he loved his job and his work family. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Curtis Memorial, especially Dr. Iio and the ICU staff for their unwavering care and special attention to Hiram during his hospital stay. We will never forget your kindness and compassion. Hiram will be forever missed and always loved by those who were lucky enough to know him. Rest in Paradise. MOORES, MARY THERESA JOHANNA

March 11, 1937 - January 13, 2019
The family of the late Theresa Moores regretfully announce her passing on January 13th, 2019 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 81 years. Theresa was born on March 11, 1937 in Flowers Cove to Joseph and Elsie Walsh. Theresa started working as a nurse’s aide at the hospital in Flowers Cove when she was just 15 years old. Two years later, at 17, she married the love of her life, Abraham Moores, on August 20, 1954. Together they have shared over 64 years of happiness. Theresa loved knitting, scrapbooking, journaling, crosswords, and playing games like patience and flinch. She will always be remembered for her warm demeanor and her hospitality as over the years she housed many people who passed through Flowers Cove, especially those who were working at the hospital. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memoires, her husband, Abraham; Son, Dudley (Phyllis); Granddaughters, Natasha (Chad), Dede (Ern); Greatgrandchildren, Colby, Tori, Jada, Jaxon; Brothers, Tommy, (Currie), Jody; Sisters, Anne (Richard), Margaret (Mac), Susie, Evelyn (Reg); Sister-in-law, Margaret, Marion, as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. WOODWARD, ROBERT

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Robert Woodward announce his passing on March 19th, 2018 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 64 years. He leaves to mourn one daughter, Ananda (Glen) and one granddaughter, Sierra. He also leaves to mourn seven sisters; Clara (Hedley), Rowena, Dulcie (Wayne), Carrie (Thomas), Juanita, Joanne, Jennifer (Rob); 2 brothers, Earl (Gloria), Garfield; one very special cousin, Una Elliott; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Also, a special thank you to Wallace Woodward. Roberts was predeceased by his parents Abe and Blanche Woodward. Passed away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on December 13th, 2017 at the age of 71 years. Visitation and Funeral Services were held from St. Mary the Virgin’s Anglican Church in Mary’s Harbour on the 16th of December, 2017 Rev. Peddle officiating. GENGE, GEORGE STEPHEN

Passed away on October 27th, 2017 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital at the age of 87 years. He is forever remembered by Steward and Dorcas; Easta, Dan and Lauren; Rick, Crystal, Malcolm, and Ricki. Sadie Genge and Family as well as extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents George and Evangeline Genge as well as special friend Porter Genge Junior. Visitation took place from the Anglican Church in Anchor Point from where the funeral was held on Monday, October 30th, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Omar Reyes officiating. Interment followed. TAYLOR, HARVEY

Passed away October 10th, 2017 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital at the age of 88 years. Harvey Taylor was born in Raleigh to John & Elsie Taylor on May 19th, 1929. He grew into a hardworking man with a wonderful sense of humour. In the early 1960’s, Harvey found work at the old Viking Inn on Pistolet Bay. It was there that he met his true love, Catherine, who was employed at the Inn. They married in 1963, at the United Church in Raleigh, where they settled down to raise their family. “In sickness and in health” they were always there for each other. Kay and Harvey raised their children, Ford and Amanda, who have been very supportive throughout his illness. In addition to his humour, Harvey was always an energetic worker. Even after he “retired”, Harvey loved getting out into the woods to work at his firewood. Harvey was known to set his family and friends into gales of laughter at the many comical things he would say. His smile made you feel right at home. He touched many people’s lives, and he will be greatly missed. He leaves to mourn with a lifetime of memories his wife Catherine “Kay”, Children Ford (Wanda), Amanda (Craig); Grandsons Nicholas and Brock; Brother Hedley; Sisters Nellie (Bill), Gert, and Janice. He was predeceased by his parents John and Elsie Taylor, Brother Norman, and Sisters Ethel and Stella. Visitation took place from the United Church in Raleigh from where the funeral service took place on October 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gus Pendleton officiating. Interment followed. Roy N. Burton of Englee, a well respected and loved member of the community passed away at Curtis Memorial Hospital at the age of 73. He is survived by his wife Ivy, Daughter Bonnie (Terry), Son Bob (Wanda), Son Boyd, Son Trevor (Alicia). Grandchildren Brandon, Adam, Andrew, Shania, Cody, Mackenzie, Stephan Burton and Ryder. Great grandchildren Kaden and Bree. Brother Wilson, Lewis, Lorne. Sisters Joyce, Elsie, Verley, Bonetta, Alice, Marilyn. He is predeceased by his parents Hayward and Priscilla (Paddock). Visitation will be held at Englee Salvation Army church from 2 to 4 pm (public) 7 - 9 pm (family only) on Tuesday 10 Oct 17. Funeral service is under direction of Salvation Army ministers Bruce and Judy Giles to be held on Wednesday 11 Oct 17 @ 2 pm followed with burial at Salvation ArmyCemetery. He leaves to mourn his wife Viola of 67 years marriage. Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 1st day of July 2013. Mrs. Jessie Ethel Patey of St. Anthony was in her 87th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her son Piercey(Shirley); granddaughters Dale(Gary) & Cynthia(Dennis); great granddaughters Danielle & Melanie; great grandsons Gregory & Evan as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Melvin; parents Joseph & Jane Burden, sister Aggie, brothers Thomas, Heman, Harrison, Gordon, Allen, and Frederick. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony followed by the funeral service on the 4th of July at 2:00pm at the Salvation Army Church with Majors Dinzel & Kathleen Baggs officiating.
