It is with great sadness that the family of the late Nellie Smith announce her passing at the John M. Gray Center in St. Anthony on June 28, 2021 at the age of 84 years. She was a hardworking woman who dearly loved her family and done all she could to provide for them. Nellie will be sadly missed by her husband of 67 years, Willis Smith; her sons, Ralph (Bride), Abiel (Pansy) Hedley (Jean), Gary; Daughters, Janice (Richard), Joan (Phil), Judy (Barry), Patsy, Maisie, Valerie (Toma); 16 Grandchildren, 23 Greatgrandchildren; Sister, Gertie Bolger, as well as a large circle of Nieces, Nephews, and other extended family. Nellie is predeceased by her parents, John and Elsie Taylor, 2 Children, 3 Grandchildren; Brothers, Harvey and Norman; Sisters, Ethel, Stella as well as her Mother and Father-in-law, Drucella and John Smith. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 1st at the United Church in Raleigh to be followed by the Private Funeral Service at 2:00 pm with Rev. Deacon Arthur Kinsella officiating. Interment to follow. The funeral service will be streamed on our Facebook page. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. PYNN, JANIE MAY

It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beautiful mother Janie May Pynn (Worthman), on January 25th, 2018. Janie was born in Heart's Delight, Trinity Bay. She was a woman filled with generosity, kindness and gentleness of spirit.  There are no words that can convey how blessed we, her children, were to have her as our mom. She loved her family with a sacrificial love and we loved her so deeply and completely. She was predeceased by her husband Baxter Pynn. She leaves to mourn her five children, Hilda Gushue, Rona Bowers (Bill), Randy Pynn (Velma), Patsy Geroux, Barry Pynn (Shauna); 9 Grandchildren, Jason Blake (Aleksandra), Dana Blake, Chris Bowers (Regina), Candace Hillier (Cameron), Stephanie Boden (Randy), Victoria Pynn (Josh), Robyn Hynes, Adam Pynn (Nikki), Megan Pynn and nine Great-Grandchildren, Hanna, Robert, Alexander, Luke, Victoria, Olivia, Adam, Ryder and Bronwyn, Her Sisters Marie Blackwood and Sadie Brampton and Special Friends Chester and Elsie Slade. Visitation took place from Kerry M. Filatre's Funeral Home in St. Anthony until the funeral on Sunday, January 28th, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the Anglican Church in Raleigh with Rev. Katie Flynn officiating. Interment followed. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre's Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

GREEN, MABEL

Mabel Green was born on January 24th, 1937 to George and Nellie(Bessey). She was one of four children. On May 11th, 1953 she married John Green on Raleigh, and together they raised five beautiful children. Mabel leaves to mourn: Sons Wallace(Judy), Alonzo(Michelle). Daughters Edna(Martin), Hazel(Raymond), Vivian(Tony). Grandchildren Jill, Vanessa(Ashley), Krista(Bruce), Terri(Mike), Kellie-Rae(Corey), Shawn(Genina), Aaron, Taylor. Great Grandchildren Brady, Chloe, Tristan, Dylan, Liam Madison. She was Pre-deceased by her Husband of 59 years, John. Parents George and Nellie Bessey. Parents-in-law Elijah and Christina Green. Sisters-in-law Nina Colbourne, Beatrice Green. Brothers-in-law Hubert Colbourne, Henry Green, Amaziah Patey, Leonard Green. Visitation was held at the Anglican Church in Raleigh from which the funeral service was held at 11:00am on Tuesday November 10 2015 with Rev. Diane Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger Funeral Director
