LAING, ROBENA TAMSEY

September 8, 1943 - February 25, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of (Robena) Tamsey Laing Announces her passing at Charles Curtis Memorial Hospital on Sunday, February 25th, 2024 at the age of 80 years.

Tamsey was born on September 8th, 1943 to Lambert and Clara Woodward. She spent the majority of her working years doing what she loved in the fishing industry or working in Gerald Woodward’s General Store as a clerk/book-keeper. Tamsey’s other passions included knitting, berry picking, gardening, and various other activities that allowed her to reap the benefits of living off of the land. She loved her community and was a dedicated volunteer her entire life within her church and at all local events.Seeing people return home to Boat Harbour for a visit was one of Tamsey’s greatest joys. Above all else, family ranked the highest on her list of priorities. She was a dedicated and loving sister, wife, mother and grandmother throughout her years. 

She married her lifelong love Curling Laing in June 1964. Together they had 3 dearly beloved children. Left to mourn are Daniel (Debbie) Laing, Charmaine (Irving) Powell, and Angela Laing. She was also blessed with 6 grandchildren whom she treasured dearly. Left to mourn is DJ Noseworthy, Irving Powell Jr, Joshua Laing, Effie Powell, Tracy Laing, Evan Powell. She is also survived by great-grandchild Remi Laing, brother Randy (Sheila) Woodward, sister Donna (Jim) Roberts, step-brother Lloyd (Marjorie) Field and an extended circle of family and friends. 

She is predeceased by parents Lambert and Clara  Woodward, loving husband Curling Laing, sister by heart Marjorie Coates, step-brothers Hedley Field and Clarence Field. 

Visitation at St. Marks Anglican Church will begin Monday evening, February 26th at 7pm. The family service will be held on Tuesday, February 27th at 7PM. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 28th at 2:00 PM with Reverend Art officiating. Burial will follow at Boat Harbour Cemetery.

Passed away May 10, 2021 from Charles S Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 73 years. She is survived by her Husband, Enos Woodward; Daughter, Tonya (Curtis); Son, Paul (Sharon); Grandchildren, Jordan, Jesse, Lukas, Megan; Great-grandchild, Asher; Sisters; Eleanor, Jane (Gordon) Applin, Ethel (Larry) Pilgrim, Gladys (Tony) Woodward; Brother, George (Stella) Woodward; Special Niece, Roxanne Farrell as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, and a large circle of friends. She is predeceased by her Parents, Eldred and Muriel Woodward; Brothers, Nelson, Harrison (Winnie). and Sister, Evangeline and Brother-in-law Clarence Field. The funeral service and visitation will be taking place at 2:00pm Wednesday May 12th 2021 with Rev. N. WOODWARD, ROBERT

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Robert Woodward announce his passing on March 19th, 2018 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 64 years. He leaves to mourn one daughter, Ananda (Glen) and one granddaughter, Sierra. He also leaves to mourn seven sisters; Clara (Hedley), Rowena, Dulcie (Wayne), Carrie (Thomas), Juanita, Joanne, Jennifer (Rob); 2 brothers, Earl (Gloria), Garfield; one very special cousin, Una Elliott; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Also, a special thank you to Wallace Woodward. Roberts was predeceased by his parents Abe and Blanche Woodward. Visitation was held from the Anglican Church in Boat Harbour from where the funeral was held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Katie Flynn officiating. Cremation to follow. WOODWARD, MARGARET MARY

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Woodward at Charles S.  Curtis Memorial Hospital on March 26, 2016 at the age of 73 surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband William Woodward, parents- Clara and Noah Woodward, sisters - Elizabeth, Vina, Nellie, and Rosmond, brothers - Theophilus and Noah. Leaving to mourn with loving memories is her son Rod (Charlotte), daughters - Cindy (Graham), Sandra (Steve) and Jennie (Dean). Grandchildren - Chelsea, Nicholas, William, Heidi, Dillon and Hailey. Very special companion George Smith. Sisters- Hope (Lorne) and Elvia (David). Brother - John and nephew - Trevor (Louise). Also leaving to mourn a big circle of family and friends. Visitation was held at the Funeral Home in St. Anthony after which the funeral service was held at 11:00am on Wednesday the 30th day of March 2016 with Rev’d Fr. Paul Findlay officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Boat Harbour. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Funeral Director Siobhan Mauger. A big thank you to anyone who brought food, cards and flowers, also those who sent messages and made phone calls. Visits during Mom's stay in the hospital and after was greatly appreciated. Thanks to the ACW of St. Anthony for the trays of food, Rev'd Paul Findlay and Vira Warren. Thanks for the places we stayed while we were home. Thank you Dr. Saukila, Dr. O'Keefe, Nurses and staff. The funeral service was held in North Boat Harbour on March 30, 2016 with Rev'd Findlay officiating. Pallbearers - Roderick Woodward, William Noseworthy, Nicholas White, Graham White, Trevor Woodward and Maitland Smith. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home, St. Anthony, NL. Our mother, grandmother, companion, aunt, sister and friend was very special and hardworking. She always had a way of putting everyone first. She lived life letting everyone know how much they meant to her. Rest in peace our sweet angel.
