ANDREWS, GORDON (GORDIE) SAMUEL

September 7, 1978 - January 30, 2024

Gordie was born in St. Anthony, NL to Garland & Elvida Andrews. He grew up in St. Anthony, Ship Cove, and Westport. In his later years, he settled in Carbonear and recently, to Victoria, Conception Bay North, NL. Gordie loved working on anything with a motor- especially his 4 wheeler, or bike as he used to call it.

He is survived by his Mother: Elvida; Brothers: Stephen (Kathy), Michael (Stephanie); Nephews: Jarod, Jayden; Nieces: Joehana, Samantha; Special Aunt: Sara Jacobs; Aunts: Loretta Osmond, Violet Andrews, Violet Humby, Eliza Pittman (Randolph); Uncle: Adolphus Andrews; Special Cousin and friend: Chris Andrews (Alice Ward), as well as many cousins, friends, and relatives.

He is predeceased by his father: Garland Andrews; Grandparents: Walter & Katherine, Gilbert & Jane Canning; Aunts: Juanita Andrews, Bessie Hurley (Samuel); Uncles: Arthur Jacobs, Alonzo Osmond, Ralph Humby, Stephen Andrews (Mary), Samuel Andrews, Gordon Canning, and Jobie Canning.

Cremation has taken place with a celebration of life to be announced in Summer 2024.

ANDREWS, WESLEY ROY

April 10, 1949 - July 3, 2023

Wesley Roy Andrews was born April 10, 1949 to John and Daphne (Tucker) Andrews in Ship Cove.

At a very young age Wes fished with his father before going to work at the fish plant in Trepassy. It was here that he married and his son Kevin was born. He then settled in Ship Cove and worked in the fish plant in St. Anthony. After that he spent many summers working at construction jobs in Labrador.

In later years he spent all his time in Ship Cove fishing, getting mussels, and cutting wood. He and his dear friend Carrie especially loved picking berries.

Wesley leaves to mourn, his son: Kevin; Brothers: Garl (Hazel), Gus (Jean), Lloyd (Janet), Alonzo (Diane), Dennis (Margy); Sisters: Marjorie, Millicent, June; and special friend: Carrie.

He is predeceased by his Parents: John and Daphne (Tucker) Andrews as well as Sisters: Dulcie Pynn, Mabel Eddison, and Nina Swanson

ANDREWS, JUANITA MARIE

July 22, 1945 – October 12, 2019

Juanita Marie Andrews was born in Ship Cove on July 22, 1945 to Robert and Ethel Taylor. She was the oldest of 11 children. She met and later married Adolphus Andrews on October 14, 1963. Together while living in Ship Cove they raised two children, one daughter, Glenda and one son; Christopher. Juanita loved helping her Husband with getting their wood for the winter, going berry picking together, as well as helping with the potato garden. She loved the outdoors. She really enjoyed doing family things together, especially during Christmas and Birthdays. She was a lovely housekeeper, wife, and mother. The greatest love of Juanita's life was when she found the Lord and became a faithful and dedicated member of her church with her husband Adolphus Andrews. She raised her children in a loving and Christian household. She leaves to mourn, her Husband, Adolphus Andrews; Daughter, Glenda (Tom); Son, Christopher (Alice); Grandchildren, Robert Hedderson & Jennifer Ward; Brothers, Roy & David; Sisters, Winnie (Eric), Violet (Calvin), Karen (Cecil), Maysie (Primus), Joanne; as well as 5 nephews, 2 great nephews, and 2 nieces, and a large circle of family and friends. Juanita was predeceased by her parents, Robert J. Taylor and Ethel M. Taylor; Brothers, Ronald G. Taylor & Edwin R. Taylor; Sister: Leona Taylor-Hurley & Baby Boy Andrew. Visitation was held from the Bethel Pentecostal Church in St. Anthony from where the funeral was held on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Elliott officiating.
