HILLIER, MARGARET

Wherever a beautiful soul has been there will be a trail of beautiful memories

November 30, 1968-February 27, 2025

It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Margaret Hillier announce her peaceful passing at Curtis Memorial Hospital on February 27 at the age of 56 with her family by her side.

Margaret was born to Genevieve (Jenny) and Philip Sexton of Goose Cove on November 30, 1968. Margaret married the love of her life, Tony, on August 21, 2010.

She is predeceased by her father Philip Sexton. Leaving to mourn with loving memories, her husband Tony Hillier, son Gregory Sexton (Nicole), and her pride and joy, her grandson Philip Sexton. Siblings Regina (Barry), Marie (Jerome), Rita (Gene), Madonna (Shawn), Dean (Jill), Mike. Mother in law Annie Hillier; brothers and sisters-in-law Fred (Rita), Gloria (Clem), Vivian (Victor), Robbie (Karen) and Winnie (George). Margaret was a loving aunt and best friend to her niece Carina who will miss her beyond measure as they shared a very special bond; they have been the best of friends for years.

Margaret worked as an LPN at Curtis Memorial hospital and the John M. Gray Centre for many years. She was very well respected and cared for by her co-workers and her work family was very important to her. Margaret’s warm personality, infectious smile and very generous heart was always ready to tackle any obstacle and made her a force to be reckoned with and a pleasure to be around.

We, the family, would like to thank the staff at Charles Curtis Hospital for the care and compassion that was shown to Margaret during her illness. We would also like to extend a special thank you to the cancer clinic staff at Curtis Memorial Hospital.

Family and friends can visit KM Funeral home on Sunday, March 2 from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral services will be held at the Immaculate Conception church in Goose Cove at 11am Monday, March 3 with Fr. Amir officiating. Interment to follow at the cemetery in Goose Cove.
