Blanche married Malcolm Hillier in 1945 at Quirpon, NL and they raised their family together until his sudden passing in 1962. She continued to raise and support her family alone until she met and married Ronald Strickland in 1973. They moved to St. Anthony where they continued to raise their family, including their only daughter together, Kaye. Blanche was a hard-working woman as a Domestic Helper, Fish Plant Worker and Mother of 12.
Her favorite pastimes included knitting, crocheting, walking, berry picking, trouting, a good crossword puzzle and scratch tickets. Blanche lived and enjoyed life simply with her family that she dearly loved until dementia gradually stole her away from us over the past few years.
Special thanks to the staff of the Charles Curtis Memorial Hospital for the special care they provided over these past months.
