April 10, 1950 - August 31, 2021

It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Christopher Hughes of Green Island Brook announced his passing at Curtis S. Memorial in St. Anthony surrounded by his loving family on August 31, 2021 at the age of 71 years.
Christopher leaves to mourn his loving wife of 45 years, Shirley. His two daughters Cheyann (Merv), Candy (Jamie). Son David (Tracey). Grandchildren: Mitchell, Zachary, Logan, Peyton, Hailey. Brothers: Nicholas (late Marjorie Hughes), Hughie (Marie), Fred (Melvina), Barry (Ruby). Sisters: Olive (late David Noseworthy), Thamsie (Wallace), Maggie (Edmund), Patsy (Windsor), Susie (Scott), and a large circle of nieces, nephews and extended family & friends. Predeceased by: Parents: Uriah and Mary Elizabeth Hughes. In laws: Elijah and Ina White. Sisters: Virtue (George) Parrill, Nancy, Velma, Dorothy & Olga.
Visitation took place on Thursday, September 2nd, 2021 at St. Andrews Anglican Church, Lower Cove from 2-4pm/7-9 pm. Funeral took place on September 3rd, 2021 at 2pm with Rev. Deacon Vernon Short officiating. Followed by burial at the Green Island Brook cemetery. Funeral arrangements were provided by Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony & Roddickton, Lee Nippard, Funeral Director.
The family would like to express their thanks to the nurses and staff at the Curtis S. Memorial Hospital for their continuous care and kindness shown to Christopher during his time there especially his last few days. Also they would like to thank their Aunt Mel for being by their Mom's side each and every day. Aunt Maryann for her many travels to Deer Lake and helping any way she could. Uncle Nicks who was very special to their dad and for his tremendous kindness during funeral preparations.
Christopher will be greatly missed by all who have known him. They would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time.
