NORMORE, MOODY STEPHEN

Moody Stephen Normore was born on August 30, 1959, to Neva Decker and was raised in Miles Cove as a son by his proud grandparents, Stephen and Rhoda Normare.

Moody worked for many years in the woods with SCI in Central NL until a vehicle accident in 1993 left him unable to work. From this time on he encountered a lot of sickness but he always choose to be happy and to spread that joy with who ever he came in contact with. He had a love for life and was grateful for each day he was given.

He met the love of his life, SueAnn Adams of Griquet and they married on April 9, 1999. They lived in Miles Cove and Springdale for most of their married life but moved to St. Anthony a few short years ago so Moody could be close to a dialysis unit and her parents. He certainly loved and appreciated the nurses at Curtis Memorial Hospital dialysis unit. One of Moody's pride and joy was his cats. To say he was a cat lover would be an understatement. Until SueAnn came into his life and even after, his many cats kept him company. His love for animals was very powerful. He feed many stray cats, a stray dog and even would throw food into the woods for a moose. He loved to visit with his family and many friends, always up for a laugh

and a chat. He so willingly showed his love to all. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. On Sunday, October 24 surrounded by family he passed peacefully into the presence of His Lord.

He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his Wife, SueAnn; father-in-law George Adams; Brother, Lloyd (Flora), Cyril (Avis), George (Yvonne), Stephen (Wanda); Sister, Joy. Moody will also be greatly missed by his family, his friends, his nurses and all those who knew him. Moody is predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Rhoda Normore; Mother-in-law, Dorothy Adams; Mom and Stepfather, Neva and Sam Decker; and Brothers, Eric and Leslie.

Visitation was held from the Bethel Pentecostal Church in St. Anthony on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 from where the funeral service took place at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 28, 2021 with Pastor Jeff Elliott officiating. QUINLAN, RUTH VIVIAN

December 19, 1952 - October 20, 2021

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Ruth Quinlan of Wild Bight said their final goodbyes at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 68 years.
Ruth was a loving and devoted mother to Son, Jason and her girl, Kelly. Ruth married the love of her life, Ross Quinlan of Wild Bight where the settled and made it their home.
Ruth was a very kind hearted woman who put everyone before herself. She didn’t mind lending a hand and helping others. For a number of years she was a business woman who operated her own convenience store and take-out. The kids from the little town loved to go there and she enjoyed everyone who came through her door. She put a lot of time into crafts and knitting then attended all the craft fairs, displaying and selling her items. Ruth was always in a cheerful mood and smiling. She will forever be in our hearts.
She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her son, Jason; her girl, Kelly; Brothers-in-law, Reuben Elliott, Herbert Reardon; Sister-in-law, Linda Quinlan (Don); Special Niece, Melissa Ricks; Special Nephew, Shae Gould, as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

STRYDE, ALFRED JAMES

Alfred James Stryde was born to Aubrey and Isabella Stryde of Bridgeport on Dec. 23rd of 1940. On August 16th of 1967 he Married the love of his life Elizabeth Hill of Cooks Harbour. They were blessed with the birth of three sons, Gordon, Darren and Shawn. Elizabeth and Alfred also raised Cathy Tucker for a number of years. He loved to read and listen to church on Sunday. He will be sadly missed by his sons Darren (Petrina) Stryde, and Shawn (Carol) Stryde and his three treasures ; Krista, Nathan and Alex. His sister Jean Boyd, Glady (Charles) Emberley, Louise Stryde, Thelma (Terry) Wheeler, Eileen (John) Philpot and his brother Harvey (Betty) Stryde. His sister in law Loretta Stryde, Marg Rose, Betty Hill and Eliza Hill. Alfred was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth Stryde, Son Gordon, Parents Aubrey and Isabella Stryde, his sister Maisie Rideout; brothers Ivan and Eric Stryde; and brother-in-law Gilbert Boyd and will be missed by his buddies Grenfell Blake, Everton Patey, Ronald Pilgrim and Many other family members and friends. Visitation to be held at the Funeral home in St. Anthony from 2-4 pm on Saturday October 23rd and 2-4pm on Sunday, October 24th, after which the funeral service will take place at 2:00pm on the 25th day of October, 2021, with Majors Henry and Beatrice Bingle officiating. PILGRIM, LORNE WAYNE

It is with sad and heavy hearts that the family of Lorne Wayne Pilgrim announce his passing at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on October 15, 2021 at the age of 71 years.

Wayne; as he was best known, was born in Main Brook on May 28,1950. He was 12th of 16 children born to Ruben and Maisie Pilgrim. On May 25, 1973 he married the love of his life, Diana Reardon. Together they raised 4 children.

Wayne was known as a jack of all trades and was no stranger to fixing everything, operating equipment and helping others. He enjoyed spending time with family and socializing with friends. Until illness prevented him in recent years - he enjoyed the great outdoors, going to his cabin, out in boat and on skidoo. He was a great friend to many.

Leaving to mourn are his children Calvin, Lorne (Bev), Lynn (Justin) and Randy. 8 grandchildren: Katelyn, Emma, Abby, Noah, Kalin, Casey, Walter and Kameron.

Brothers Dennis (Alice) and Wes. Sisters Jessie, Maude, Edith, Beth (Vern) and Elsie (Herb). As well as a very large circle of neices, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends,

He is predeceased by his wife Diane, parents Maisie and Ruben, brothers Ronnie, Arch, Casper, Tony, Calvin, Bobby and Lindsay as well as sister Marie.

It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Andrew Coates of Wild Bight announce his passing at home surrounded by his loving family on October 14th, 2021 at the age of 88 years.

It is with sad and grateful hearts that we have to say farewell to our Husband, Dad, Grandfather, Brother, and friend. Cecil was a hardworking man who provided for his family and was very caring. His door was always open for anyone to stop in for a chat or a meal. You could ask him for anything and if he had it, he would give it to you. He was always there to lend a helping hand or do what he could for anybody, He will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him.

Born on September 29, 1956 in St. Anthony, NL. Kevin grew up in St. Anthony and met the love of his life, Corrine Elliott and together they started a family. Kevin and Corrine were blessed with two boys, Sheldon and Chad. They spent a large part of their lives together in Raleigh before moving to Yellowknife for 19 years where Kevin worked in the mining industry. Kevin enjoyed spending his time in the shed playing darts with family and friends. Kevin was a jack of all trades and especially like fixing small motors and other mechanics. His favourite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren, Mia, Vann, and Knox.
He is forever loved and missed by his Wife of 41 years, Corrine; Sons, Sheldon (Michelle), Chad (Megan); Grandchildren, Mia, Vann, Knox; Parents, Charles and Bertha; Siblings, Edith (Wallace), Gary (Dale), Dallas (George), Marilyn (Chuck), Cherie (Jamie); Parents-in-law, Reginald and Irene Elliott; Sisters-in-law, Ellen, Marie (Monty), Sharon (Glen); Brother-in-law, Anthony (Barbara), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

RICHARDS, TONY BRAMWELL

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of a loving husband, father, and grandfather Tony Richards at Curtis Memorial Hospital, at the age of 65 years.  Tony was born to Abram and Florrie Richards of Little Brehat and moved to St. Anthony at the age of two.  He had a typical childhood filled with schooling and growing up, and later attended college where he met the love of his life Winnie (White) and in 1977 became parents to their only daughter Charmaine.  He spent years working with FPI and St. Anthony Seafoods and lastly with Department of Transportation and Works at the College of the North Atlantic.  Tony made a lot of friends during the years and spent plenty of time in his boat fishing, and hunting.  In 2009 his pride and joy, his one and only grandson Caden was born and life had a whole new meaning.  Being a grandfather was his favorite role and he enjoyed every minute of it.  Tony was loved greatly by all who knew him.  He will be fondly remembered by his wife of 40 years Winnie, daughter Charmaine (Corey), and grandson Caden; siblings Nina (Boyd), Lillian (Wilf), Betty (Ed), Willard (Betty), and Linda (Graham), and In-laws Melvina (Fred), Shirley (late Chris), Calvin (Mary Ann), and David (Tracey); and a large number of nieces and nephews and their families.  He is predeceased by his parents Abram and Florrie Richards, in-laws Elijah and Ina White, sister Stella (Reginald), brother Valence, and brother in-law Douglas.       

Family visitation will take place Saturday, Oct 2, 2-4pm and Sunday Oct 3, 7-9pm.  The funeral will take place at St. Anthony United Church on Monday Oct 4 at 2pm with Rev. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of out loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Thelma Coates, at St. Anthony Hospital on September 9, 2021 at the age of 94 years. She was the last child born to Abraham, and Elizabeth Dredge of Black Duck Cove.
She leaves to mourn with loving and lasting memories her Children, Gerald (Ruby), Betty (Bob), Marilyn (Whyman); Daughters-in-law, Ivy and Hazel; Grandchildren, Gerald (Lorraine), Dean (Madonna), Jennifer (John), Carlyann, Quenten (Sherri), Ricky, Miranda (Sebastien), Robbie (Deanna), Gregory, Scott (Kaitlin); Great-grandchildren, Tyler, Renee, Connor, Skylar, Sharla, Laura, Willie, Laci, Lucien, Ariane, Bobby, Blake, Jada, Gemma and Carly. She will also be remembered by, Sister-in-law, Gladys Dredge and Special Friend, Rosie Mclean.
Thelma was predeceased by her husband, Willie and Sons, Harrison and Melvin; Brothers, William, Walter, John, Roland, Abraham; Sisters, Blanche, Cinderella, and Kittie.
She loved her family very much. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always overjoyed whenever they came to visit her, always making sure she had pies and other treats to give them. She lived a simple life, she never travelled far from her home in Eddies Cove. She was a stay at home mom who worked hard to earn and provide for her family, making sure she did the best she could for them. After her husbands passing she moved to the Ivy Durley Place in Flowers Cove. She liked living at the home and we would like to thank the staff for taking such good care of her and making her feel so comfortable. Her last few months were spent at the hospital in St. Anthony, we would like tot hank the health care workers for attending to her every need and all the kindness they had shown her while she was there- thanks everyone.
Visitation to take place from St. Andrews Anglican Church in Lower Cove on Sunday, September 12, 2021. The funeral will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Rev. July 7, 1944 - August 29, 2020

Edith was born in Roddickton to Edward and Flossie (nee: Pollard ) Blanchard on July 7, 1944. Edith married Harold Humby of St. Lunaire on Oct 13, 1960 and and made their home there. They were blessed with two children, Flossie and Wilbert. Edith passed peacefully into the presence of her heavenly father on August 29, 2020 at the John M. Grey Center in St. Anthony at the age of 76 years old, where she was reunited with her loving family members. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children; Flossie (Denley) Hedderson and Wilbert (Norma) Humby. Grandchildren, Robin (Susie), Rikki (Krista), Roger, Robert (Chanelle), Rhea, River, Cody (Holly), Nick, Zachary, and 13 great grandchildren. Sisters, Helen and Joyce (Val Carroll); brothers; Edward (Mary), William (May), Ricky (Bonnie). As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Edith was predeceased by her husband Harold Humby. Parents, Edward and Flossie, brothers and sister in-law, Ross and Barry (Katie). Parents in-law; Joseph and Jesse Humby, one sister in-law and five brothers in-law. Cremation was entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director. Visitation will be held at the Pentecostal Church in St. Lunaire - Griquet on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 12:30-1:30 pm (attendance via request or invitation only). The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday Sept. 18th, 2021 (attendance via Request or invitation only) with Pastor Bill Harnum Officiating, Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
