Abe Moores was born on January 27th, 1950 in Flowers Cove to Eli and Laurola Moores. At a young age he moved to Port Aux Choix, after the death of his mother, they moved back to Flowers Cove. At the age of 20 he met the love of his life, Virtue, They later married in the year 1973. They had two daughters, Angela and Nadine. Abe had 3 other children from previous relationships; Leon, Lisa, and Lawrence. Abe was a linesman by trade but his passion was being a fisherman.

He Leaves to mourn with fond memories, his Wife, Virtue; Children, Nadine (Jeff), Angela, Lawrence (Olga), Leon (Cindy), Lisa; Grandchildren, Nikita, Nathan, Tisa, Brittany, Jenna, Taylor, Bradley; Great-grandchild, Ruby; Step-Mother, Margaret. He also leaves to mourn his Brothers, Edmund (Doreen), David (Amanda); Sisters-in-law, Maralies (Leonard), Millicent (Cliff), Helena (Iram).

The family would like to thank everyone for their calls, thoughts, prayers, visits, and assistance during this difficult time. Thank you as well to the staff at the Strait of Belle Isle Center, the staff at Curtis Memorial Hospital, KM Fillatre’s Funeral Home, as well as all who have provided help at this time. It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Alma Coles announces her peaceful passing at the Health Science Centre surrounded by her loving family on August 20, 2021 at the age of 80 years.
Alma leaves the mourn with fond and loving memories her three sons Leslie (Agnes) Lyman (Marion Ann) and Gerald (Faye). Grandchildren: Jordan (Kelsey), Lyndon, Genine (Corey), Andy (Ashley) and Brady. Great Grandchildren: Chloe, Spencer, Aiden, Kayden, Kyle, Marlie, Sunny, Colby, Gracie, Janelle, Terrence (son Matthew) and Phoenix. Sisters: Eva (Garfield), Barbara (Harris) Sarah, Eliza, Mona (Stanley) brother: Roland (Ivy) and Mel (Sonya) In-laws: Nelson, Vernita (Coy), Clementina, Winston (Eileen), Beulah, and Kennett and their families as well as a large circle of extended relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years Gerald, father Roland and mother Mariam. Sisters: Margaret and Dora. Father-in-law Leslie, Mother-in-law Edna. Brother-in-laws: Edmond, Kirby, Henry, Stedman and Jim. Sister-in-laws: Judy, Millie and Thamsie.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 31st, 2021 at 2:00 pm from St. Thomas Anglican Church in Sandy Cove with Rev. Short officiating.
Cremation and funeral arrangements was entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

HEDDERSON, CECILIA ANNE

May 19, 1929 - August 28, 2021

May 19th, 1929, Cecilia Anne was born to Maude and Joseph Clarke of Canada Harbour. She shared her childhood with sisters, Agnes, Carmel, Jenny, Dorothy, Elsie, and Brothers, Cyril and Garrett. At the age of 26 she married William Hedderson, unfortunately William was called home after just 10 short years of marriage.
Cecilia devoted her life to her 8 children, Madonna, Anne, Maxine, Leone, Jim, Bill, Denise, and Lonny.
In her later years, Cecilia was blessed with 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Cecilia will never be forgotten, her memories will live forever in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Cecilia lived a long and full life. She passed at the age of 92.
She leaves to mourn her sisters, Dorothy Clark, Elsie Alyward; Brother, Garrett Clark; Madonna and Tom Cannings, Lisa, Brittany, Jenna Jones, Ron, Cindy and Jordan Cannings, Herb, Bev, Noah, and Jonah Cannings, Barry, Kelsie, Jacob and Quinley Cannings, Morgan, Morgan Jr., Joey, Alexis, Jeremiah Cannings, Trina and Evan Cannings; Anne, Pius, Shane and Tyrone Reardon; Maxine, Genny, Logan, Layla Hiscock, Terrance, Erica, Troy, and Ryan Hiscock; Leone and Brian Hedderson, Corey Thorne and Darquise D’Boiscommeault; Jim Hedderson, Ashley Coates-Hedderson and Asher, Allison Coates-Hedderson, Aubrie, Alivia, and Aslan; William and Denise Hedderson; Lonny and Hazel, Brandon and Bailey Reardon, and Cassie Byrne.
She is predeceased by her Parents, Maude and Joseph Clarke; Husband, William Hedderson; Sisters, Agnes Carter, Jenny Jones, Carnmel Keough; and Brother, Cyril Clark.

PARR, EDWARD CLARENCE

June 6, 1960 - August 27, 2021

Edward was born in Mary’s Harbour, Labrador to Myrtle and Robert Parr of Port Hope Simpson, Labrador on June 6th, 1960. As a young man he grew up in the fishing boat. He met the love of his life, Daphne Andrews, and they married on January 27, 1984. Together, they raised two daughters, Dana and Erica. Edward was a Jack-of-all-trades; he worked at St. Anthony Seafoods, as a carpenter building houses, he worked in construction, he worked at Hillier’s Esso, and as a Janitor/Bus Driver at Bayview Collegiate and White Hills Academy. He was a quiet man loved by everyone.
He leaves to mourn, his Wife, Daphne of 37 years; Daughters, Dana (Scott House), Erica (Toby Penney); Granddaughters, LoraLee Penney and Keira House, who were his pride and joy; Sisters, Zonya (Graham Hillier), Marilyn (Lemuel Penney), Jeanette (Barry Boyd), Irene (Peter Kippenhuek); Brothers, Hayward (Mildred), Donald (Roseann), Kevin (Wavey), Stephen (Sherry), as well as a large circle of family and friends.
He is predeceased by his Dad, Robert Parr (February 1, 2008) and his Mom, Myrtle Parr (May 17, 2021).
Visitation will take place from the Pentecostal Tabernacle in St. Lunaire-Griquet, NL on Sunday, August 29, 2021 from 7-9pm and on Monday, August 30, 2021 from 10am-12pm. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday with Pastor Harnum officiating. Interment to follow.

MITCHELMORE, THOMAS GUY

It is with great sadness that the family of Thomas Guy Mitchelmore announce his passing on Friday August 20th, 2021 at the age of 75 years.

Tom was born on October 10th, 1945 in St Anthony to Guy and Maisie Mitchelmore. He met and married Peggy Bennett of Main Brook on August 29th,1969. Together they raised 3 daughters Rhonda, Debbie, and Sheri. Tom served in the Canadian military with the Black Watch Regiment in Cyprus from 1965-1968 a part of the United Nations peace keeping forces. After serving his country he returned to Newfoundland to work as a professional fisherman. In the late 1980's he worked as hunting and fishing guide with Tuckamore Lodge until he retired in 2011.

Tom was a generous and kind man. A good Samaritan, who would never see a stranger or someone in need stranded. He was an avid hunter and fisherman with a great love for the outdoors. He will be missed by the many people whose lives he touched. He will be mourned by his wife Peggy, daughters Rhonda (Mike), Debbie (Mark) and Sheri (Derek) and his six grandchildren; Jessica, Michael, Joshua, Matthew, Coale and Madison. In addition, he will be mourned by his siblings Ross (Linda), Sheila, George (Kim) and Brenda (Frank) and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and close friends. Tom is predeceased by his parents Guy and Maisie Mitchelmore. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

Maitland Roland Pilgrim, Born May 15th, 1932. Passed away at the Palliative Care unit in Corner Brook on the 18th of August 2021 at the age of 89 years. He is predeceased by his wife Gladys Critch Pilgrim. Left to Mourn: Vince (Daisy), Dianne (Don), Mable (George), Grandson Keith Boyd, Great Grandson’s Clay & Kai Boyd. Visitation was held at the Funeral home in St. Anthony Followed by the Memorial service at the St. Anthony Salvation army Church at 20m on Saturday August 21st, 2021 with Major Bingle Officiating , burial in the church community cemetery will follow the service. NOBLE, CLIFFORD LOOMIS

May 7, 1955 - August 14, 2021

Clifford was born in Great Brehat on May 7, 1955 to Victor and Bertha Noble. He fished all his life from small boats to off shore trawlers, until 2018, when he took ill and had to finish with the fishery. He battles with cancer until his death on August 14, 2021, at the age of 66 years, surrounded by his family.
He leaves to mourn, his partner of 39 years, Judy Patey; 5 brothers and 4 sisters, Rtia (Bob), Marion, Don (Donna), Reub (Ruby), David (Shelly), Gladys (Loren), Rick (Loretta), Sheila (Rick), Terry (Ann); Sisters-in-law, Betty (Roy), Jean (Gordon), Gloria (Kevin); his buddies on the MV Atlantic Enterprise, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Clifford is predeceased by his parents, Bertha and Victor Noble; his infant brothers and his father and mother in law, Nina and Samuel Patey. Cremation has taken place, the funeral will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 2:00 pm from the St. Anthony United Church with Rev, John Maich officiating (Tentative). Dorothy was born on April 1st, 1939 to Harrison and Hazel Burden of St. Lunaire-Griguet. She met and married George Adams of Main Brook on August 23rd, 1957. Together they raised 6 children, 5 Daughters and 1 Son. She enjoyed her knitting and quilting very much and was a very hard working woman, who was also eager to provide a meal to anyone. She was faithful to her church and most of all devoted to her Lord and Saviour, who she served for many years. Her true pride and joy was her grandchildren Great grandchildren, and Great-great Grand children. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and all who knew her. The funeral will take place on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at 2:00pm with Pastor Jeff Elliott officiating. Interment to follow in the St. Lunaire-Griquet Pentecostal Cemetery.

Dorcas Baines, 88, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2021 at the Long-term Care Unit, Rufus Guinchard Health Centre. Dorcas was born in Shoal Cove West, NL to Lean and John (Jack) Coombs on September 29, 1932. She loved playing cards and she loved her family.
She leaves to Mourn, her Children; John, Hubert (Lucy), George (Darlene), Joy (Steve), Cyril (Theresa), Effie (Bax), Bob, Gay (Jeff); Son-in-law, Doff, Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren and her sisters, Effie and Dulcie.
Besides her parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters, she is predeceased by her husband Noah; Daughters, Yvonne and Jill as well as her sons; Pearce, Iran, and Noah.
Dorcas’ family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre for their exceptional care of our mom over the past 2 1/2 years. We would also like to thank her dear friends, Lillian Beaudion and Una Hynes and everyone who visited her at home and at RGHC.
Cremation has taken place, funeral service and inurnment will be held at French Cove Cemetery on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 2:00pm with Rev. Gosse officiating.
