November 5, 1954 - May 13, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Randy Simms.

Randy was born in St. Anthony to Verra and Garland Simms on November 5, 1954. He studied Electrical at the College in St. Anthony then went to Kitchener, ON for a short period. He then moved to Labrador City where he worked as a Journeyman Electrician with I.O.C. until retirement at 54. After retirement he the worked an additional 10 years with contractors. He raised his son and daughter in Labrador City.

Left to mourn are his children: Randy (Sheila), Krista; and special grandson Dylan (whom he adored); as well as 9 Grandchildren, 6 Greatgrandchildren; Brothers: Terry (Pansy), Linzie, Greg (Darlene) and his nephews and nieces.

Randy is predeceased by his parents: Verra and Garland Simms; Sister-in-law: Jennifer; Grandparents: Hayward and Susie Simms, and Spurgeon and Anna Hussey.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Labrador City Hospital, St. Claire’s Mercy, the Health Science Centre, and the staff of the Curtis Memorial Hospital for his care.

Visitation will be held at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home on the 17th and 18th of May form 2-4 and 7-9 pm, followed by a family memorial service at 2pm at the funeral home on Monday, May 19th with Majors Anthony Stokes and Beverley Dart Stokes officiating. Cremation will follow the service with burial to be announced for a later date.
