Passed away into peace on the 3rd of July, 2021 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony NL. Left to mourn her passing with a lifetime of loving memories are her daughters Lillian (Max) Matthews and Lourie Ann (Tyson) Hedge, grandson Patrick (June) Matthews, Great Grandchildren; Alexis, Jackson and Emerson (Shannon), Special Nephew Ricky (Danielle) Hughes, Brothers and sisters; Marona Noseworthy, Stanley (Jill) Hughes, Edna (Iverson) Coates, Willis Hughes, Yvonne (Stewart) Hughes, Velma Noseworthy, Delilah (Lewis) Hughes, Joyce (Boyce) Hughes. as well as her sister in law Hazel Hughes, Aunts and uncles; Rita and Ivany Parrill, Millie Macey, Cicely and Don Dempster, Grand puppy Chloe, Special friend Melvina Hughes and a large number of Nieces, Nephews and Friends. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents John and Maria Hughes, Grandson Max (Bubba) Matthews jr.. Brothers and sisters; Violet, Nelson, Ross, Lawrence and Maitland, Brothers and sister in-law; Isaac Noseworthy, Osbourne Noseworthy and Winnie Hughes.

it is with great sadness that the family of the late Ivan Pilgrim announce his passing on September 8th, 2020, at the Carbonear General Hospital at the age of 65 years old with his family at his side. Ivan’s funeral will take place at the Salvation Army Church on July 20, 2021 at 2pm. Burial will follow in the St. Anthony Bight Cemetery. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Nellie Smith announce her passing at the John M. Gray Center in St. Anthony on June 28, 2021 at the age of 84 years. She was a hardworking woman who dearly loved her family and done all she could to provide for them. Nellie will be sadly missed by her husband of 67 years, Willis Smith; her sons, Ralph (Bride), Abiel (Pansy) Hedley (Jean), Gary; Daughters, Janice (Richard), Joan (Phil), Judy (Barry), Patsy, Maisie, Valerie (Toma); 16 Grandchildren, 23 Greatgrandchildren; Sister, Gertie Bolger, as well as a large circle of Nieces, Nephews, and other extended family. RANDELL, IDA

Passed peacefully away at Roddickton hospital on June 21st 2021 at the age of 87. Ida was born on Dec 23rd 1933 to William and Annie Randell in Williamsport NL. Her Mom passed away when Ida was an infant and she then went and lived and was raised by Esau and Ester Randell as their own child along with Wesley and Dan Randell. She married Cecil Randell on Nov. 10th 1952 and they had five children; Barbara, Garry, Wayne, Jerry and Barry. Keith was born to Barbara and Cecil and Ida raised them as their own. Cecil and Ida resettled their family form Williamsport in 1969 to Bide Arm for two years and then to Englee in 1971 where they built their home and raised their family. Ida was the prayer warrior of their family and was a devoted Christian all her life. she work on a whale plant in Williamsport and the Fish Pant after Moving to Englee. She was a Wonderful quilt maker and put her hands to almost anything. she was an active member of the Pentecostal Church in Englee till sickness kept her form attending. Left to mourn her passing are her children Barbara Randell, Garry Randell (Brenda), Wayne Randell (Martene), Jerry Randell, Barry Randell (Kathy), Keith Randell (Nadine), Grandchildren Todd (Connie), Terry (Lindsey), Toby (Tylee), Melissa, Nicholas, Tiffany, Colby, Charlee; Great-grandchildren, Ava, Keegan, Tianna, TJ, Cali, Leah, as well as her sister, Elvie (Nelson) Fillier and Brothers, Dan and Naaman (Eileen). She is predeceased by her husband, Cecil Randell. Visitation will be held at the Pentecostal Church in Englee on the 25th of June 2021, with the service being held at 2:00pm the same day, officiated by Pastor Strickland. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lemuel Taylor announce his passing on Saturday June 19, 2021 at The Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 75 years. Leaving to Mourne his passing are his sisters Pearl (Carl) Milley, Fayne (Joe) Buggy and Maude Burry. brother Glenn (Barba) Taylor, Sister In Law Millicent Taylor. although he had no children of his own he had a large circle of Nieces and Nephews - Lynette (Derek) Saunders, Don (Leona) Milly, Greg (Judy) Milley, Roger taylor, Jeff (Shirley) Taylor, Gaie (Ken) Payne, Beberly (Wade) Payne, Sean (Emily) Buggy, Mark Buggy, Kim (Dave) Cabers, Craig (Gaitaine) Burry, Brian (Tracy) Taylor, Toma (Valerie) Taylor, Joe (Leslie) Taylor, A very large of great and great great Nieces and Nephews that he considered his own with endless amounts of love and compassion. Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Center in the presence of her family on June 6th, 2021 Mildred B. McGrath (Nee Woodford) of Conche, Age 98. Mildred loved to spend time in her vegetable garden and to pick berries. she had a great sense of humor which gave many people good laughs. Leaving to mourn and celebrate her life are her children Mary (Aiden) Moriarty, Aloysius (Elizabeth), Gerry (Barbara), Zita (Wallace) Budgell, Florence (John) Murphy, Paul (Pauline), Bride (Ralph) Smith, Jackie (Darrell) Comeau. Grandchildren Michael, John Louis, Lisa, Matt, T.J., Candace, Amanda, Ryan, Sean, Sarah, Karl, Brian, Cindy, Marilu, Jonathan, Steve, Angela and Lynnette. 14 great grandchildren, as well as a circle of nieces, nephews and good friends. Mildred was predeceased by her husband Jack, Parents William and Alice Woodford (Nee Joy), Her sisters Mary, Maria, and Eileen, Brothers Mick and Jim.

LAWLESS, SAMANTHA

July 19, 1982 - May 27, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our daughter, Samantha Lawless, on Thursday May 27th, 2021 at the age of 38 years. Samantha was born July 19, 1982 and raised in Flower’s Cove.

Family was very important to Samantha and her family dearly loved her. She had a large number of cousins whom she shared many memories with. She loved telling stories about her loved ones and usually it would end with a laugh. She had an amazing and joyful personality. She also loved her dog Bella whom brought a lot of love and joy to her life.

Samantha had a zest for life and a smile for everyone. She would brighten a room with her smile, her story telling and sometimes being her goofy silly self. In turn everyone had a smile for her. Her passions in life were darts, gardening and spending time with friends. She was a prime example that goodness still exists in the world. Samantha was a beautiful soul and exhibited a spirit of her own.

She graduated from high school in 2000 and her classmates remain a very close group even to this day. The amount of support that was offered to help their classmate during her difficult time was amazing and greatly appreciated by Samantha.

We would also like to add a special mention to her dear friend Patricia Tatchell, or Patsy as Samantha would say. Whether it was a trip to Corner Brook, a shoulder to lean on or an ear to listen Patsy was there for her and Samantha adored her. Her cousin Krista Burke was a support during her last few months and through her illness. Patsy and Krista were Samantha’s dynamic duo and tag team who she also loved to tease and have a laugh.

Jack and Lavenia will have many memories and stories to share of Samantha moving forward. As will many others who knew her. She will always be a shining star as bright as her personality. Rest easy our angel.

FOWLER, GLENDA JEANETTE

October 25, 1962- June 01 2021

With heartfelt sadness we the family of Glenda Fowler announce her passing on June 1st 2021. She was much loved and will be sadly missed by her mom, sisters, nephews and niece and all her fur friends. Glenda lived a quiet, simple life and suffered in silence. Glenda appreciated everything big or small someone gave and always kept it in her notes. Glenda loved volunteering at the family resource center and the staff there praised her for her good attendance and her special attention to the kids- especially the preschool, who she would give stickers to for their homework and put it in their folders. Special to Glenda, and something that always brought a smile to her face, was her fur friends—Gracie, Joe, Gord, Shep, Teddy, and Chico.

She leaves to mourn her Mom, Stella Fowler; Son, Andrew Ivany; Sisters, Jessie Gillingham (Maurice), Joan Ivany (Bob), Dorothy Fowler, Colleen Loder (Allan); Nephews, David, Michael, and Maurice; Niece, Cynthia; Great-nieces, Rebel and Emily; Great-nephews, Liam, Jackson and Carson. Special in so many ways were her cousins; Jackie, Ruby, Pearl, Shiela and Judy. Also left to mourn also are many cousins as well as her Aunts, Jessie Elms, Selma Fowler, Cora Fowler, Barbara Fowler, and Uncle Gary Fowler. Glenda is predeceased by her Dad, David Fowler, Grandparents, Isaac and Winifred Fowler, and Benjamin and Joanna Smith.

COOMBS, JAMES

April 16, 1935 - May 26 2021
It is with great sadness that that the family of the late James Coombs of Plum Point announce his passing at the John M. Gray Center on May 26, 2021 at the age of 86 years old. Jim was born April 16th, 1935 in Plum Point and lived there all of his life. In his early years he worked in the woods. When he was 32 years old, he went to school and became an Auto Body Technician. He ran his own business Coombs’ Auto Body Shop until his retirement. After retirement he spent many hours in his garden. He loved socializing with his many friends and family. He also loved being a pop to his three grandchildren, spending time with them and encouraging them in everything they did. His family would like to thank the staff of the John M. Gray Center for their care and compassion. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 58 years Lillian (Gibbons of Current Island), children Eliza (Roy), Ben (Anita), grandsons Sidney (Chelsea) and Alex (Taylor) and granddaughter Sarah; brothers: Gerald (Maisie) and Henry. In laws Edmund (Mary Ann) Gibbons, Edith (Isaac) Dredge, Annie Gibbons, and Gladys Gibbons. As well he leaves behind a wide circle of family and friends and especially Rodney, Evelyn, Minnie, and Heather who were always a big part of his family.
