MCLEAN, ROLAND

It is with a heavy heart that the family of Roland McLean announce his passing on November 7th, 2024 at the age of 71 years. Roland passed away peacefully at Curtis Memorial Hospital with his spouse and a large circle of his family at his side.

Roland was born and raised in Green Island Cove, he was an active member of his community. He spent his life on the water as a fisherman, he enjoyed life to the fullest. In the last few years he battled ALS. He took the good days with the bad, with lot of support, he fought this battle to the end.

Roland leaves to mourn, with fond memories: His lifelong partner of 35 years Joyce Mitchelmore; 6 Sisters: Sybil, Hazareth (George), Louisa, Irene (Harold), Shirley (Dylan), Rosie (Colby); His 3 brothers: Leslie (Penny), Lambert (Helen), Primus (Pearl); Brothers-in-law: Michael Gibbons and John Macey; Nieces, Nephews and an Extended Circle of Family and Dear Friends.

Roland was Predeceased by: his parents Raymond and Aurelia McLean; 2 Sisters: Sarah Gibbons and Augustine Macey; Brothers-in-law: Desmond Macarthur and Pat Rumbolt.

We would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral home, Rev. Canon Vernon Short, Loomis Way, as well as the staff at the Curtis Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion during his hospital stay. We would also like to thank the Flower’s Cove Health Centre for their continuous care over the past few months. A special thank you goes out to Nurse Practitioner Madonna Coates and Home care nurse Benay Sinnicks, We are Forever Grateful.

Visitation is being held at St. Andrew’s Church in Lower Cove on Saturday and Sunday (Nov 9th and 10th). The family service will be held at 9pm on Sunday, followed by the funeral service on Monday Nov. 11th, 2024 at 11am. Cremation will follow the service with burial at a later date.

McLEAN, JOSEPHINE

March 8, 1946 - November 21, 2021

Josephine was born in Pines Cove on March 8, 1946. She was the 5th of 16 born to George Henry and Elizabeth Jane Crane. Josephine was a beautiful and kind hearted woman. She loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. Josephine loved going to bingo, playing cards and especially loved her darts. She leaves to mourn her Children, Calvin (Eleanor), Clayton (Dorcas), Colin; Grandchildren; Conrad, Colton, Keegan; Siblings, Ralph (Hannah), Rendall, Garfield (Hazel), Maxwell (Juanita), Myrtle (Isaiah), Joyce (James), as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Josephine is predeceased by her Husband, Aaron Mclean; Parents, George Henry and Elizabeth Jane Crane; Siblings, John, Earl, Nelson, Roland, Amie Marie, Lennora, Dorothy, Augustine, Evelyn; as well as sister-in-laws, Betty and Una. Visitation to take place from St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Lower Cove on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Todd Shelby McLean announce his tragedy at sea on July 29, 2020 at the age of 49. Todd spent most of his life as an inshore fisherman To provide for his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ski-dooing, and in the woods. Left with fond memories his wife Joan, on March 4, 1995 he was overjoyed with the birth of his first daughter Brittany, and on January 12, 2001 he welcomed his other little girl Emily, they meant the world to him, his mother and father Cicely and Shelby Mclean, brother Samuel (Nikita) and a large circle of nephews,nieces,aunts, uncles and family and friends. He was precdeceased by grandparents Sadie & Pierce Mclean, Mary & James Toope, mother & father in law Beatrice & Samuel Taylor and friend Clyde Mitchelmore. born April 17th, 1929, passed away August 30th, 2017 at the Sir Rufus Guinchard Health Center at the age of 88 years. Passed away May 5th, 2017 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital at the age of 75 years. He leaves to mourn, his Wife Evelyn; Children Dalton (Colleen) McLean, Garrison (Manette) McLean, Faith (Jamie) Payne; Grandchildren Everton Jr (Karen) McLean, Garett (Anna) McLean, Brittany McLean, Alex (Amy) McLean, Andrew (Bianca) McLean, Justin Payne, Ryan (Danielle) Payne; Great-Grandchildren Gabrielle McLean, Lincoln McLean, Russell McLean. Everton was predeceased by his Parents Leonard and Beatrice McLean as well as his sisters Virtue McLean and Belinda Hughes. MCLEAN, SADIE BELLE

passed away into peace at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial hospital in St. Anthony NL, on the 27th of April 2015, Mrs. Sadie Belle McLean of Green Island Brook in her 95th year. Sadie will be lovingly remembered by her children Wilfred, Eldred (Dydia), Selby (Cicely), Maitland (Dorothy), Lillian (John), Mona, Sarah Fanny (Pammy), Rowena (Terry), Percy, Barry (Jackie), Rhoda (Kenny), Bruce (Sylvia), Daughter in law Kay, 27 Grandchildren, 39 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren. Sadie was predeceased by her parents Eli William and Sarah, Her Husband Percy, Son Sidney, Daughters in law Kitty and Judy and Son-in law Isaac. Visitation was held at the St. Andrews Anglican Church in Lower Cove, from which the funeral service was conducted on the 30th of April, 2015 at 2:00pm with Rev.
