REEVES, WINNIE

Winnie was born in Wildcove on May 07th, 1922 to  Minnie and Elias Pittman. She married Frederick Reeves in November 1940and lived in Englee up until she moved to Roddickton House in 2003. Winnie and Frederick raised fours Sons and four Daughters.Mrs.Winnie Reeves passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 4th day of October 2014.Mrs. Winnie Reeves of Englee was in her 92nd year.   She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her Daughters Gertie Seaward(Garfield), Wavey Pilgrim(Mervin), Cindy Newman(Barry), Sons Stanley(Carol), Lorne(Vera), Daughter-in-law Eileen Reeves(Everett), Thirteen Grandchildren, Twenty-Two Great Grandchildren, Twelve Great Great Grandchildren, Three Sisters Patsy(Hervine),Alfred, Mercedes, One Brother Reuben(Mae), as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her Husband Frederick, Sons Everett, Oliver Daughter Wavey, and Brother Lorenzo. Visitation was held at The Pentecostal Tabernacle in Englee followed by funeral service which took place at 2:00pm on the 4th day of October 2014 with Pastor Sansome officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger Funeral Director. 

 

WOODWARD, EVANGELINE

Passed away peacefully at the John M. Gray Center on the 4th of October, 2014, Mrs. Evangeline Woodward of Boat Harbour, in her 64th year. Evangeline leaves behind with loving memories her Daughter Roxanne (George), granddaughter Hanna, Brothers and sisters Harrison (Late Winnie), George (Stella), Bessie (Enos), Ethel (Larry), Gladys (Tony), Elenor (Late Clarence) and Jean (Gordon). Evangeline was predeceased by her father Eldred, her Mother Muriel and her brother Nelson. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Boat Harbour, From Which the Funeral Service Took Place at 2:00pm on the 7th of October with Rev. Mark Wilkoff Officiating. Burial followed the service in the Anglican cemetery in Boat Harbour. Funeral Arrangements where entrusted to Kerry M. CARROLL, MICHAEL JOSEPH

Born December 1st, 1924 in Conche, NL, Michael J. Carroll moved to north east brook in Roddickton in 1931, then Roddickton proper in 1968, he worked as a logger, fisherman, Heavy Equipment operator and Maintenance man of the town of Roddickton for many years. Michael Passed away into the Presence of God on October 5th, 2014 at the John M. Gray Center in his 86th year.  Left to Mourn his passing are his sons Clifford (Bessie), Ambrose (Judy), George (Mary Elle), Michael Jr. (Lois), Bernard (Meryl), Daughters Nellie (Willie), Margaret (Dave), 20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, sisters Shirley, Della, Elizabeth and Loretta. as well as brothers James, William, Val, and a large circle of family and friends. Michael was predeceased by his wife Anastasia, sisters Alice and Nellie and brothers Robert and Gerald. visitation was held at the church of the Good Shepherd in Roddickton, from which the funeral Mass was held at 2:00pm on Wednesday October 8th with Farther Vitus Officiating. burial followed in the Church cemetery. ELLIOTT, GARLAND

Passed away into Peace on the 5th day of October 2014 at Shirley's Haven personal care home in St. Anthony in his  90th year, Mr. Garland Elliott of Cooks Harbour. Garland leaves behind his brothers Ramond, Leonard (Elsie), and Hayward (Lillian), his sister Lottie as well as nephews, nieces, and a large circle of family and friends. garland was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Effie Elliott, brothers James, John, and Walter. Visitation was held at The Anglican Church in Cook's Harbour, from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on the 8th of October with Rev. Mark Wilkoff Officiating. GIBBONS, ISAAC JESSE

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Isaac Jesse Gibbons announces his passing on Oct. 3, 2014 in Bird Cove at the age of 55 years. Leaving to mourn wife Patsy; sons Rendell and Ryan; mother Rachel; brothers George and Wallace; brothers-in-law Pius, Maxwell, Jim, Wayne, Dean, Don and Jim; sisters- in-law Patsy, Selina, Maxine, Yvonne, Pauline, Janet, Nadine and Jessie; nieces Kayla, Jasmin, Tracy, Janaya and Meghan; nephews Isaac, Alex, Dylan, Sheldon, Shawn, Tyson and Matt; mother-in-law Melina Gould, as well as a circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by father Isaac and father-in-law Pius. Visitation took place at the Church of the Advent Church in Plum Point from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6 with Rev. Harvey and layperson Matt Osbourne officiating. TAYLOR, DANISA "AIMEE" GAIL

Danisa “Aimee” Gail Taylor was born on May 27, 1980 of Lola Taylor and Randy Patey, she was from Raleigh, NL.  She was a beautiful lady with a smile that would warm anyone’s heart.  On May 27, 2000, Aimee gave birth to a beautiful baby girl Megan who was the light of her life. Aimee passed peacefully away on September 27, 2014, after a terrible battle with cancer, at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, NL.  Aimee is survived by; daughter Megan, mother Lola, grandmother/mom Mary, father Randy, stepmom Mary, sisters Taylor Cuthbert and Courtney Patey, brothers Colin Cuthbert and Justin (Tiffany) Patey, niece Addison Patey, uncle/brother John, aunt/sister Karen (Bern), aunt/sister Denise (Jim).Aimee was predeceased by grandfather/dad Wilfred Taylor, grandparents Arch and Phyllis Patey, Uncle Dennis Patey and Uncle Darren Patey. The Funeral Service was held at the United Church in Raleigh on October 1st, 2014 with Interment at the United Church Cemetery in Raleigh. Pallbearers were Justin Patey, Bobby Pilgrim, Luke Pilgrim and Logan Pilgrim. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. PERRY, ELIZA GRACE

Passed away at the John M. Gray Center in St. Anthony on the 27th day of September, 2014 Mrs. Eliza Grace Perry in her 83rd year. Left with their memories are her sisters Marina (Ephraim), Rita and Melva (David), brothers Guy (Audrey) and Don, Special cousin Charles (Carletta) Fennimore as well as sisters in law Winnie Roberts and Lydia Roberts in Burlington and a large circle of nieces and nephews. Eliza was predeceased by her parents, her husband Alonzo, sisters Jessie, Minnie, and brothers Roland , George and Mount. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral home in St. Anthony, After Which the Funeral Service too place at 2:00pm on the 30th of September at The Salvation Army Church in St. Anthony with Majors Dinzel and Kathleen Baggs officiating, burial followed the service at the church cemetery where Eliza was laid to rest with her husband Alonzo. GARDINER, RONALD JOSEPH

"Until we meet again on that not to distant shore", Passed away peacefully on the 14th of September 2014 at the Miller Center in St. Johns NL in his 82nd year, Mr. Ronald Joseph Gardiner of Conche. Left to miss the "Twinkle" in his eye are his wife of 59 years Lucy, daughters Joan (Ron), Gertie (Bernie), Sharon, Michelle (Bernie), Sons Aus (Ida), Lou, Ed (Candy), Des, his grandchildren, Chad, Justin, Ryan, Brandon, Blair, Zachary, Zane, Braedyn, Connor, Patrick, Nathan, Luke, Jacob, Gillian, Kayla, Sheena, Ashley. His Sisters Agatha, Susie and sister Zita and many nephews and nieces. He also leaves behind a plethora of friends from the young to the young at heart. Visitation was held at the Sacred Heart Church in Conche, A celebration of Ron's life will be held at Sacred Heart Church on Friday, September 19th 2014 at 2:00pm with Father Vitus Officiating. Burial followed the Funeral at the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery. In memory of "Wendell" please play or sing one of his favorite tunes. COOMBS, MYRTLE

Born on Current Island on the 16th day of September 1937 she eventually moved to Plum Point where she raised her family. Later in life she moved to the Dove Complex in Norris Point. On the 14th day of September Myrtle passed peacefully away at the Bon Bay Health Center. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memoires her Son Rodney(Rachel), Daughters Evelyn(Doug) and Minnie(Marcel), Granddaughter Shelley, Grandsons Ryan, Joe and Bradly, Brothers William and George(Mamie), Sisters Caroline, Ruby, and Virginia(Calvin), Brothers-in-law Jim, Joe and Gerald, Sisters-in-law Lillian, Velma, and Masie, Special Friends Harvey Mudge, Patsy, Gerald and Roland, Elaine, Mary, Teressa, Lizzy Walter, Richard and Doris as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her Father Walter, Mother Amelia, Brothers Jacob and John, Sister Matilda. The visitation was held at the Church of Advent in Plum Point from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on the 17th day of September 2014 with rev. Harold Harvey officiating. Interment followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Pond Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral Homes Ltd., St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger funeral director.

NEWMAN, GLADYS LUCY

Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony into the loving arms of her Lord on the 11th of September, 2014, Mrs Gladys Lucy Newman, Age 89 of Bide Arm. Gladys was born November 15th 1924 to Samuel and Patience Cassell of Great Harbour Deep, NL, she leaves to mourn her Daughters Patsy Randell (Frank), of bide Arm NL, Juanita Randell (Ellwood) of Bide Arm NL, Iris Keefe (Robert) of Englee NL, Katie Hancock (Clarence) of Waterloo ON, Verna Reid (Sherlock) of Waterloo ON, sons Gideon Newman Of Englee NL and Wyatt Newman (Patsy) of Englee NL, her brother Edmund Cassell of Hampden NL as well as twenty one grand children, thirty three great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren. Gladys lived to see the passing of her husband Maxwell Newman, Her brother Hezekiah Cassell and her sister Mary Cassell. Visitation was held at the Apostolic Faith Church in Bide Arm, from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on the 14th of September with Pastor Howard Canning officiating. burial followed the service at the Church cemetery.
