While this was true of her, she was also a gifted craftsperson, who was an excellent knitter, crocheter, mat hooker, and drew her own hooked mat designs. She had a good sense of humor. She was very knowledgeable about current world affairs and was able to hold a conversation easily with the best of them. She, along with her husband, Wes, brother-in-law, Bax, and his wife Janie, spent 43 years as lighthouse keepers at the Fox Point Lighthouse in St Anthony, saying many times since retiring and moving into St. Anthony, how she loved it, and that she would love to be back there again, always commenting on her and Janie, about this or that, always with a smile on her face. She saw many ships carrying people either into St. Anthony harbour or leaving, often with fog horn blasting and the light shining. Her, light may have gone out, but her spirit will live on.

Cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, a donation can be made in Beatrice's memory to a chairty of one's choice.

Our parents are the people who make us who we are. They start by wanting us, caring for us and holding our hands. They teach us, guide us and want the absolute best for us. They give themselves and their time in their own life so we can have everything we need. Most of all, they give us a love so unconditional it can never be broken, tarnished or understood.

Our father was all of these things. A father, a grandfather, a brother, a son, a friend. Most of all, he was our Dad.

We are so sad that you had to leave us, but we will continue your legacy to love unconditionally and will never stop. We will never forget you. You gave up everything, so we could have everything. You were the most selfless person we have ever known. We love you and miss you so much. Our wish is for you to rest now. You’re in our thoughts, and dreams and prayers, always and forever.

We love you Dad.
