TAYLOR, OTTO

Otto Taylor was born in March of 1922. He was a fisherman, a woodsman, and as a young man he built his own house. But his life changed wonderfully when he married Ella Andrews, who had been widowed young with two children. He took those children as his own, and he even dismantled his home and took it by boat to re-assemble it closer to Ella's parents. They married in January of 1954 and shared life together until death took Ella away weeks short of their 50th anniversary. Otto loved his family, and they gather to give thanks for him. Otto loved to play the mouth organ and the button accordion. We can imagine him playing for dances and other social events. Some will hold some memories of some little ditty that Otto played, just for the joy of it. Otto was a good Newfoundlander, a ready neighbour and a friend. He will be greatly missed. He leaves to mourn, his Children, Gertie (Angus), Tony (Vivian), Shirley and Patty (Andy); Daughter-in-law, Elizabeth; Grandchildren, Sonya (Richard), Sherri (Mike), Terry (Mike), Garrett (Pam), Tom (Denise), Ken (Karen), Tammy (John) and Brenda; Nine Great Grandchildren; and Brother, Lance. Otto was pre-deceased by Wife Ella, Parents, Son Hedley, Granddaughter Jocelyn, Son-in-law Earl, six Brothers and one Sister. Otto’s family wish to Thank all of you who have been so kind – a grave was dug in bitter cold, food has been prepared and prayers and hands have been extended. Thank you all so very much!
