Passed peacefully away surrounded by her family on July 26th Mrs. Mary Victoria Moore in her 79th year. Mary is survived by her children Matt(Sandra), Ethel(Brad), Alma, Bruce, Kay(Dennis), Arlene(Henry), Harris(Tish), Randy(Ruby) and Dennis(Tracey), 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother Alma, brother Wallace(Rhea), sisters Lettie. Gladys(Wayne) and Linda(Jim) as well as nieces, nephews and a host of other family members and friends.She was predeceased by her husband Jacob Wilson Moores, her father George W. Diamond, mother-in-law Rachel Rose, Brother-in-laws Marmaduke and Albert Edwin Moores. Effie was born to Elihu and Emaline Pilgrim in St. Anthony Bight on August 16, 1914. at the age of 12 she moved to St. Anthony to care for two children who had lost their mother. she worked at the IGA hospital as a staff waitress where she met the love of her life, Harold Cooper. they married Nov. 6 1935. together they raised two children, tony and Marilyn. she was a homemaker, until she moved to the west side of the harbour when she started taking in boarders. she loved playing cards, baking and reading, but most of all she loved to travel. she loved her family and enjoyed the family gatherings. Effie passed away into peace on the evening of the 23rd of July in 2014 at the age of 99. she will be sadly missed by her daughter Marilyn, brother Maitland, sister Una (Tony), Daughter in law Celeste (John), Grandchildren Glenda (Tom), Lori (Ed), Tara (Kirk), Brenda (Eric), and Wade (Sheila). great grandchildren Michael, Matthew, Morigan, Erica, Jodi, Shauna and Tony, her many nieces and nephews, as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Effie lived to see the passing of her Husband Harold, son Tony, son in law freeman, five sisters Lottie, hazel, Mabel, Lulu, and Ethel. as well as her brother Lewis. visitation was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony, after which the funeral service took place at St. Mary's Anglican Church in St. Anthony at 2:00pm on July 26th, 2014 with Rev'd. Passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy illness, with her family by her side, Mrs. Dora Loder of Cooks Harbour in her 84th year. Left to mourn are daughters Marilyn (partner Ted Blanchard) and Ida (husband Fred Berry), brother Wilfred Elliott, Sister in law Phyllis Loder, many nieces, nephews and friends especially Wavey Loder who provided many years of support. Dora was predeceased by Husband Harvey Loder. HOWELL, MARGARET CLARA
Margaret Clara Hancock was born in Goose Cove, NL on August 11, 1952 to Joseph and Agnes Hancock. She grew up in the community with her two brothers, John and Phillip, and her two sisters Theresa and Elizabeth. Margaret graduated high school at Harriot Curtis Collegiate, and went on to graduate as a Registered Nurse from Western Memorial School of Nursing in Corner Brook in 1975. She then came to work in Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthon, where she spent time in many roles, but most enjoyed her time in the Emergency Dept. Margaret married Guy Howell in 1980. They had two children, Krista Lynn and Christopher. After an early retirement from her profession, Margaret spent a great deal of her time involved in activities at her church, Bethel Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed cooking and caring for others. She gave tirelessly of her time and love to anyone and everyone who came in her path. Margaret Passed away into Peace on 10th of July, 2014, with her family by her side. She leaves to mourn her husband, Guy, daughter Krista Lynn, son Christopher (Stefanie), sister Theresa (Edward), sister Elizabeth, brother Phillip (Gail), mother in law Flora, sister in law Selma, brother in law Todd (Sandra), several nieces and nephews, and a large circle of other family and friends. Ada Pynn was born on may 11, 1933 in St. Lunaire to Thomas and Deborah Bussey. she married Gilbert Pynn of Quirpon on Feb. 27th 1953, they were blessed with 4 Children; 2 daughters and 2 sons, who made them proud grandparents to 3 grandsons and 1 grand daughter. Ada worked a short time with FPI. she was a loving Wife, Mother, grandmother. she was a very Caring and fun loving person who loved to entertain and bring smiles to peoples faces. .on June 28th 2014 she passed peacefully away at the john m. gray center surrounded my her family . she will be missed by a large circle of family and friends. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her two daughters Elizabeth (Wes), Donna(Don), two sons John (Joyce), and Rick (Glenys), five Grandchildren Cory, Chris, Vanessa, Justin and Michael, Six Great Grandchildren , Two sisters Mable and Betty, Three Brothers Charles, David, and Fred and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and family as well as friends.
