Passed away peacefully at the Charles s. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 16th of October 2012, Baby Boy Ryan Gary Coles. Mourning his loss with the heaviest of hearts are his parents Kaye & Jamie Coles, his big brother Ryder, Grandparents Gary & Patsy Genge, Barbara & George W. Coles, his Aunt Cagney, Uncle Mark & Cousin  Adam Hughes, Uncle Justin Coles and a large circle of family & Friends. Visitation was held at St. Thomas Anglican Church in Sandy Cove, from which the funeral service was held on the 19th of Oct. 2012 with rev. Marlene Harvey Officiating. Passed away tragically at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 17th of Oct. 2012 at the young age of 52, Mr. Perry Larry Earle of Griquet. Left to Mourn his loss are his Wife Mary-Ellen, son Derrick, Daughter Lauralee (Jordan), mother Stella, brothers Hubert (Winnie), Lloyd (Phyllis), Ronald (Elizabeth, Shawn (Patsy) and sisters Violet (Arthur), Jean (Ross), Donna (Brad), Linda (Curtis). Passed away  peacefully on​ Sunday  Oct.  14, 2012 at the Health Science Center in St. Johns , Mr. Winston Patey of St. Anthony  in his 62nd year. Winston leaves to mourn his wife Edith, son Percy(Pauline); daughters Lisa(Paul); Tammy(Ken); and Sheri(Miles); eight grandchildren; four brothers; three sisters; and a wide circle of family and friends. Passed away peacefully at the John M. Gray Center on the 15th of October in her 76th year, Mrs Winnie Florence Ings of St. Anthony. Left to Mourn her loss are, her Husband Aubrey Ings, her daughters Bonnie Pelley (Rick) and Harriet Ings, her Sons Grant Saunders (Denise), Trent Ings (Lisa) and Aubrey Ings (Angela), 14 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren and her siblings Lucy, Harvey, Elwyn and Ralph. ​Passed away to be with the Lord on October 13th 2012 at the Western Memorial Hospital at the age of 77 years, Mr. Gordon Clayton Graham Dempster of Nameless Cove. Mr. Dempster leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 53 years Hazel, his sons Gorvin (Barbara), and Gary (Faye), his Daughters Marilyn (Gaius), Sheila (Ches), Wavey (Milton), GrandChildren Kelly (Tina), Scott (Lindsay), Bryan, Keristen, Katie, Karli. His great grandchildren Kaden, Mckenzie, Brayden, Brody, his brothers Clyde (June), Donald (Cicely), Claude (Mary), Harold (Evelyn), his sisters Catherine (Ethelbert) and Amelia (Clarence). Gordon lived to feel the loss of his parents John and Amy, as well as his brother Anthony. The visitation took place at the Gospel Hall in Nameless Cove, from which the funeral service took place at 2:00pm on the 16th of October with Mr. Gaius Goff Officiating.  Burial followed in the church cemetery. Jenneth Jessie Colbourne passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on October 4th 2012. She was predeceased by her brothers Roland, George and Mount, and sister Minnie. She is survived by her sister Eliza Perry, and Step Family; Marina Sparkes (Ephraim),  Guy (Montreal), Rita (St. John’s), Melva Whitten (David, St. John’s) and Donald. Jessie was married to Max Colbourne (Deceased 1995). She is mourned by three children; Loretta Patey (Wilbur) of Goose Bay, Overton (Wife Judy) of Corner Brook, and Owen (Wife Julie) of Calgary; Three Grandchildren, Jerry Patey, Ian Colbourne and Jill Colbourne, and Three Great Grand children; Cpl. Eric Patey, Marcus (Goose Bay), and Michael Patey (Labrador City). Jessie was a faithful Soldier of The Salvation Army St. Anthony Citadel Corps., a Sunday School Teacher, Home League and League of Mercy member. She influenced the lives of many people. Jessie was a skilled craftsperson for the Grenfell Industrial, producing high quality hooked mats and embroidery. Examples of her high quality embroidery were present in several handicraft products given as gifts by organizations to visiting dignitaries. Her skill as a mat hooker is present in many collections of work in museums and private collections in the U.S.A. and Canada. Visitation was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony, followed by the funeral service which took place at 2:00pm on the 7th of October form the Salvation Army Citadel in St. Anthony, burial followed in the church cemetery.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Garland Simms announce his passing at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 28th day of September 2012 at the age of 89 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his four sons Terry (Pansy), Randy, Linzie (Jennifer), and Greg (Darlene). Nine grandchildren Trevor(Paula), Petrina(Frank), Terri-Lynn(Robbie), Clay(Sheila), Krista, Roland, Colby, Neil and Sean, Ten Great grandchildren, Brother-in-law George Pilgrim and sisters-in-law Maisie Morgans (Morgan) and Rita Hussey (Dick). He was predeceased by his wife Verna, parents Hayward and Susie, Sister Mary Ann and brothers Roland and Clayton. Visitation was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony, funeral service took place at 2:00pm on the 3rd day October from the United Church in St. Anthony with Rev. John McGonigle officiating. PARSONS, FREEMAN NICHOLAS

During the early morning hours of Sept 20, 2012, surrounded by his loving family, Freeman Parsons, age 80, passed into the presence of his Lord whom he so faithfully served. Freeman lived most of his life in Goose Cove, a hard working fisherman, he knew the value of a good days work. When the fishery closed in the early nineties he moved both house and home to St. Anthony.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and faithful friend. A deep void has been created in the Parsons family due to Freeman's passing. He will be sadly missed by his wife Hazel who devoted herself to caring for him.  They shared a love story that spanned over 55 years.  Even in his final days when disease and pain wrecked his body and mind he still lit up when she entered the room.  His children Phyllis (Ivan) Simms, Gail (Milton) Roberts, Wallace Parsons, Penny Parsons (Brian), grandchildren Sandra, Danielle, Cody will all acutely feel the loss of a wonderful father and grandfather.  He is predeceased by his father Jehu, mother Frances, sisters Myrtle, Dulcie, and Vashti, brother Jehu and daughter-in-law Kim. Freeman's funeral service took place Sept 23rd at Bethel Pentecostal Assembly in St. Anthony. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

George was predeceased by his loving wife Myrtle, his mother Mary Ann and father Albert, as well as his mother and father-in-law Rachel and William Dredge, his brother Steward and his nephew David. Visitation took place at the Anglican Church in Green Island Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19, with Rev. Marlene Harvey and Lay Person Maxine Hughes officiating. Burial followed in the Anglican Cemetery in Green Island Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M.
