Passed away in to peaceful rest at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Sept. 17, 2012, Mrs. Mary Laura Clarke of Port aux Choix, NL, in her 64th year. Left to mourn her loss are her mother Alice Sexton; her sons Roy (Diane), Robert, and Austin (Fatmia); her daughters Ivy Sexton (Lorne), and Peggy Clarke (Brian); her brothers Anthony, Ambrose (Gertie), John (Ida), Gerald (Darlene), Eugene (Cathy), and Philip (Isabelle); sisters Margaret Clarke, Ann (Cliff) Caines, and Maureen (Fred) Bromley. Visitation took place at St. Theresa’s Church in Port au Choix from where the funeral service took place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20 with Fr. Lee Laney officiating. Burial followed in the Port au Choix Roman Catholic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

Passed away suddenly in Tan Tallon, Nova Scotia in Halifax County at the young age of 43 years, Mr. Elam Dyson Hancock of Englee, NL,on Sept. 15, 2012. Left to mourn with heavy hearts are his parents Wilmore and Laura Hancock, of Englee; his son James Reid, Mt. Albert, Ontario; daughter Samantha Reid, Hubbards, Nova Scotia; common- law-spouse Terrie Gale, Hubbards Nova Scotia; sister Angela (Alan) Compton, Englee, his brothers Eldred Hancock, Fort McMurray, Alberta; and Eldon (Tina) Hancock, Fort McMurray Alberta, as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Visitation took place at the Apostolic Faith Church in Englee, from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21 with Pastor Vanzel Quinlan officiating. Passed away into peace at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Sept. 11, 2012, Mrs. Nellie Mae Hillier. Nellie leaves behind to mourn her loss her husband Ralph; her sons Charles (Carol Ann), and Carl (Shirley); her daughters Ina (Wilbourn), Eileen (Eric), Glowena (Morris), Gaye (Harold), and Teena (Gilbert); her brothers George, Harold, and William; her sisters Shirley and Goldie, as well as 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other family and friends and close family friend Wavey Snow. Nellie lived to see the passing of her parents Kenneth and Edith Adams, her mother Hetti Adams who passed during childbirth, and her brothers Melvin and Wilson. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gwendolyn Brenda (Gwen) Martin of Raleigh, NL, announce her passing at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Sept. 15, 2012 at the age of 51 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Gaden; son Gavin, (Shannon); grandson Bradley; father Gayden; sisters Yvonne, and Louise (George); brother Gayden Jr. (Mona), as well as a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her mother Delcie, mother-in-law Mary, and father-in-law Bruce. Visitation was held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Raleigh from where the funeral service took place on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Diane Smith and Lay Reader Alf Larkin officiating.
