COOMBS, DERRICK

November 4, 1953 - July 9, 2024

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Derrick Coombs on July 9th, 2024 at the Health Science Centre in St. John’s, NL, at the age of 70 years.

Derrick loved and was loved by his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with them whenever he could. He enjoyed fishing, especially for salmon and trout, and would take any of us along to share in the joy with only a moments notice. He also enjoyed boating, moose hunting, working, picking things apart, fixing, and building things. In his younger years he played darts, was a member of the Blue Bird Lions Club, Orangeman and Legionnaires. He worked many jobs and always with the same loyalty to each and every one of them. He lived a good life, did what he wanted when he wanted, and left this world the way he always said he wanted to go: quickly without long suffering. He will be deeply missed by all.

Derrick was Born in Flowers Cove on November 4, 1953 to Kenneth Frederick Coombs and Effie Ellen (Mitchelmore) Coombs, he leaves to Mourn mother Effie Coombs, Brothers Hubert Coombs (Myrtle), Seaward (Rose), Sisters Emma Coombs, Annie (Coombs) Pilgrim (Otto), Marolyn Coombs (Barry), Nieces and Nephews, Wendy Coombs, Nelson Coombs (Tina), Unessa Coombs, Kenneth Pilgrim, Effie Adamache (Will), Briana Pilgrim, Alison Patey (Jose), Corbin Coombs, Gage Pilgrim, Robbie Coombs, Ross Pilgrim.
