The family of the late, Martin Genge, announce his passing at the Bonne Bay Long Term Care Centre, Norris Point, NL on Sunday August 9, 2020 in his 72nd year. Martin was a lifelong educator and avid outdoorsman loving to hunt, fish and snowmobile. He was a natural leader, with the Newfoundland Teachers Association and Lions Club, and a dedicated volunteer in his community.
He leaves to mourn with loving memories, his wife Donna, son Gregory (Stephanie), daughters Glenda (Corey) and Gaylene (Marty); 9 grandchildren Alyson, Marty, Natalie, Emma, Luke, Evan, AJ, Lincoln, and Daxton. He will be greatly missed by his siblings, and their families, including Stanley (Winnie), Ike (Pam), Aug (Dan) and Clarence (Wendy), Rubena and Percy; as well as his in laws Reg (Isi), Ford (Emmie), Claude (Joan), Margaret, Mary (Freeman), Clara, Olive, Evelyn and Joan. A large circle of nieces and nephews, and wonderful family and friends in the village of Deadman's Cove, mourn his passing.
Martin was predeceased by his sons Anthony Scott and Martin Glen, his parents Jane and Isaac, parents in law Joseph and Millicent Rumbolt, sister Judy McLean, brother Gerald Genge, sisters in law Amelia (Edwin) Collis, Faye (Ben) Smith, Violet (Donald) Bradley, and Ruby, as well and brothers in laws Raymond, Chesley, Ross, Harvey, Bernard and Joseph Rumbolt.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thanks to the lovely physicians, nursing and support staff at the Bonne Bay Long Term Care Centre and the Protective/Veterans Unit in Corner Brook Long Term Care.
A funeral and celebration of life will be held at a later date, when all family can be together. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to Bonne Bay Long Term Care Centre in Norris Point Newfoundland.
